Yes they can be. The persistent phone calls are a real nuisance. ? we managed to stop them and asked them to stop sending the catalogues but they still arrive.

Do not use Easylife, they have become a real nuisance. At the beginning of lockdown we bought face masks and every day since we have been bombarded by phone calls, e-mails and catalogues through the post. I get e-mails from like minded companies too, perhaps they pass our details around. I have had to block these companies because they were sending three or four e-mails a day.

Avoid Easy Life at all costs, you have to be very clever and on the ball to stop find you have signed up to pay them a large monthly sum, essentially, for nothing, and they are hard-nosed and intransigent if you try and stop paying.

Just need to check that, if they phone the company up, it’s a 0800 phone number. Most are but some are expensive to phone. Scott’s of Stow are good. I also use Easylife a lot but they do try to get you to join some sort of scheme which annoyed me.

Good point about phoning MayBee70. I made the mistake of calling Cotton Traders because my online order wouldn’t go through. It cost me more than the discount they were offering!!!

Their daughter is a 60+yrs Downs and obviously as she ages with mobility issues no longer has the interests she did have.
20yrs ago she loved watching musicals and would happily sing along she also loved copy writing and colouring but now apart from xxl piece jigsaws all everyday activities are a challenge.
Her parents have been fantastic over the years giving her all suitable opportunities but as they are now 85+ and have their own health issues it is so sad.So very proud and independent.I welcome any suggestions you all may have.

I do online shopping with my daughter who has learning disabilities. I bought her an iPad, installed some apps like Argos etc.and showed her how to simply go into them and choose what she wants. She does have a problem with payment side, so she puts her items in the basket and then phones me. I go into the account retrieve the order and pay. Is this something you might be able to use.

If you type in (name of company) and then reviews. Then you may see clearer who not to bother with. I send a cheque with orders now. Rarely do I give out bank details.

Aren't your bank details printed on your cheques? Just wondered - cheques have been obsolete here in Germany for decades.

Since I have lived here (over 40 years now), everything has been done by bank transfer.

Coopers of Stortford have similar items to Scotts of Stow and tend to be less expensive. I've bought from both.
