Good morning Mick.
I hope that you have a fabulous trip. I used to live in York, it’s a truly magical and awe inspiring place. The Minster is breathtaking.

Wishing you and everyone else here a lovely, peaceful day ? x

NanKate Sat 25-Sept-21 06:35:25

Morning Mick and Fanny and All to follow.

Isn’t it dark in the mornings now?

We have another nice day’s weather in store in South Bucks.

Enjoy your day Mick, we loved York, especially Betty’s Tea Room.

grandMattie Sat 25-Sept-21 06:35:58

God morning from a grey E Kent.
Love York, DD went to Uni there and loved it too. I agree that the Minster is gorgeous..
Quiet day. I’ve nearly finished the waistcoat, it was easy once I’d understood the recipe. Just buttons and buttonholes left to do.
Have a peaceful day. ????????

NanKate Sat 25-Sept-21 06:37:59

We look forward to seeing this special waistcoat grandMattie ?

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry and getting light. I am late waking and had a helping hand by something furry poking their nose in my back ?

I will do some laundry to make the most of outside drying. Rain is forecast for next week. Then I’ll tidy up the patio and deck and put the chairs back under the veranda.

I’m looking forward to seeing the special waistcoat too Mattie.

Have the best day you can all ??

monk08 Sat 25-Sept-21 07:02:25

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Have a great day in York been a few years since we were there but a place really enjoyed.
Well yesterday 5yr old Dgs came out of school with a big smile on his face wearing a citizenship award badge and carrying an enthusiasm for learning certificate. Hence 1 proud grandma.
Meeting our friends in Redditch later.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?

Ashcombe Sat 25-Sept-21 07:05:26

Good morning from a misty Sarthe which should warm up later.

Lucky you, Mick, going to York! So much to see! Have a good trip.

No plans here, although DH hopes to attempt some gardening tasks as he’s feeling rather demotivated by weeks of inactivity when he’d normally enjoy being busy outside. I shall be going home within the next 10 days, Covid-19 test result permitting (booked and paid for before I left UK and the rules changed!) , so it will be good for him to try doing things whilst I’m here for back up with cooking, etc.

Thoughts with harrigran and grandMattie - look forward to seeing the waistcoat!

Have a good weekend, everyone! ??☀️????

Have a great day in York Mick , a beautiful place .
I too would love to see the special waistcoat grandMattie.

Football for me today , it’s being televised so an early kickoff .

Have a good day if you can.

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Another warm day forecast here but more cloud and maybe a spot of rain later.
I have DGSs to feed and entertain this morning as DH is off on a Duke of Edinburgh award expedition. He is an assessor and is catching up with the time lost over the last 18 months.
Must shake a leg.
Love to all ?x

kittylester Sat 25-Sept-21 07:15:58

Good morning all from a pink skied North Leicestershire.

We are also off to York this morning. It is DH's sil's 80th birthday party. We are having a meal in a pub in their village just north of York.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Pittcity Sat 25-Sept-21 07:18:27

Just realised that what I reported as overcast is actually fog. Must remember to put my glasses on!

Sar53 Sat 25-Sept-21 07:20:55

Good morning one and all from Leamington.
I'm off to watch DGD2 play football this morning, a long drive towards the North of Birmingham. Youngest and eldest granddaughters both have dancing.
I had a lovely lunch in Bourton on the Water with my cousin yesterday. There were lots of tourists but a beautiful sunny day.
Enjoy your trip to York Mick.
Have a great Saturday everyone xxx

brook2704 Sat 25-Sept-21 07:22:03

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild and dry with quite a good forecast for the weekend.
Enjoy your trip to York mick it’s a lovely city. My DS was also at university there grandMattie and we often visited when we lived closer.
Definitely a proud grandma moment monk well done to your DGS
Today DH and DGS are doing their usual Saturday morning crazy golf and I’m taking DGD to her dancing class. We’re all then meeting up for lunch in a cafe by the river.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

monk08 Sat 25-Sept-21 07:32:14

Your heading my way Sar53 be warned lots of roadworks.

Urmstongran Sat 25-Sept-21 07:40:20

Good morning everyone from Manchester (no, autocue - not the other ‘M’ word!) where it’s mild and damp. I think it rained in the night. My, it’s nice to be back! This apartment seems huge (it isn’t of course, it’s just that our other one is so tiny!).

All these connections with York Mick! Our neighbour from Spain (the anxious 86y old) went to live temporarily with her son in York until she finds a one-bed flat she likes. He is the landlord of a pub in the centre there - one of the oldest pubs in York I think she told me, called ‘The Cock and Bottle’.

I must ring her next week and see how she’s doing.

We are up and enjoying our first cuppa of the day. I will put our Burford Browns on the hob in a minute (with crumpets and ‘best’ butter EV ?) then it’s off through the park to the little family. We have presents to take and chocolate from duty free. I can’t wait for a squidge! We are minding the smalls for the weekend. Himself always has a moan about the mattress ...
??

Have a good Saturday those who can. x

Good morning all from what appears to be a dry sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.

After yesterday’s stroke fatigue day I’m feeling so much better this morning but then I’m getting ready for the off to visit my DD and family it’ll be great fun. Drinking prune juice and red wine in the evening really helps the digestion must keep my eye on this and not get too reliant otherwise I’ll turn into an addict ???wink

That’s my weekend case all packed, there’s enough clothes in the case for a weeks stay.

I’m so looking forward to getting these boases aka hugs. We’ve both taken the lateral flow tests to reduce the risk of carrying the dreaded bug, hopefully that’ll be us sorted then.

Have a great weekend all ye who are travelling to places you’ve not been to in a while. Enjoy your travails but remember to DAE AS YER TELT. keep safe smile

harrigran Sat 25-Sept-21 07:53:01

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is just rising.
DH had two transfusions yesterday and was totally wiped out when BIL brought him home.
I had difficulty getting off to sleep but as soon as I did a van alarm went off and continued for about 20 minutes, this happens often and is annoying. The man parks his large van beside our house but lives at the other end of the street and probably doesn't hear the alarm.
My sister, who lives in Germany, says that her friend has Covid after returning from a coach trip to Switzerland. She thought that would never happen as she is double vaccinated. I am not surprised because they have the kind of social life that is only a memory for us.
DS and family will not visit this weekend as DIL has a tummy bug and they are wary of spreading germs.
I sent an Aldi shopping list to SIL and he will pop in over the weekend, he is bulletproof, DD's words, as he has had three vaccinations and his flu vaccine too.
Thoughts for grandMattie.

dragonfly46 Sat 25-Sept-21 07:53:40

Good morning from Leicestershire, another warm day forecast.

I overdid it yesterday walking 12,000 steps most of them with Nordic poles. So a bit achey this morning.

Driving down to the M25 today to pick up the granddoggy.

Wishing everyone a good day!

Gelisajams Sat 25-Sept-21 07:55:59

Good morning from the Isle of Wight. We are heading home after breakfast. Google says 10 hours but that includes the ferry crossing. We have our campa parked waiting for us on the mainland with an empty petrol tank as we used our friends car here. Hopefully we will be home before midnight. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Urmstongran Sat 25-Sept-21 07:57:58

Pleasant journey Gelisajam.

ginny Sat 25-Sept-21 07:59:56

Good morning all. Not sure what the weather is going to do today.
Sorted out my mixed up prescription yesterday and as requested made an appointment for the asthma clinic. I was told it would be a ‘phone appointment. I’m wondering if I’ll be blowing down the ‘phone so they can measure my peak flow !
We are taking MIL to have her Covid booster this morning and then we will take her out for lunch.
Hope all who are off on trips and visits have a good time and thoughts with those who are struggling in any way. Sending all a smile.

MayBeMaw Sat 25-Sept-21 08:04:50

Good morning all and I hope all those heading to York or thereabouts have a lovely day.
Got home from granny duty just I time for my book group to arrive and we had a lively discussion on”Hamnet”
No wine was consumed but copious amounts of (what I think of as) arty farty tea( Sun Salutation this time)
I was showing off my latest jewellery acquisition which my little GD had made for me . It very nearly says “Granny” ?
Now enjoying a gazunder of tea with the dog at my feet.
Today I am going to make chutney! Wishing you relief from your worries or aches and pains- I know that post- transfusion time only too well Harrigran as Paw often had weekly transfusions and it’s not to be taken lightly.
I do hope you can both relax and refresh this weekend. Gentle hugs to grandmattie too.

Grammaretto Sat 25-Sept-21 08:05:50

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders. I put on a sweater today and I feel the radiator warming up.

Have a lovely day out in York Mick. At least you won't have to worry about fuel. I am glad I renewed my railpass and have bought a train ticket for my trip next week to see the weans.
I went to school in York and attended services in the Minster but it always seemed to be clothed in scaffolding. Now my SiL and her rellies live there - very nice city.
I agree about Betty's NanKate smile

I am opening my studio for part of an arts trail this weekend.
My front room is now a gallery and all spruced up.

Welcome home Urmston smile
Dragonfly you can stop walking now.
Have the best day you can everyone.

LauraNorder Sat 25-Sept-21 08:07:08

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Isle of Anglesey. Grey skies, not too cold and perfectly still.
I have trip envy Mick, York is certainly on my ‘places to visit’ list, have fun.
Welcome home Urms.
Keep going Harrigran and grandMattie, one foot in front of the other and to everyone have the best day you can. ?
