Good morning from Cheshire.
DH going to watch DGS play football this morning then taking him to see the local adult team play this afternoon.

DS had a lovely birthday yesterday and nearly all the family managed to see him bringing gifts and good wishes. We are very lucky we all live nearby.

Looking forward to seeing the special waistcoat GrandMattie

Good morning Mick, enjoy your day in York. Morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is attempting to shine through a damp looking sky.

Yesterday’s task was to recover the dining room chairs which I’ve been meaning to do for a year as the colour really didn’t suit the room. I popped into John Lewis the other day and got some material so yesterday I set to and got them all done. I’m really quite pleased with the result which isn’t perfect but sure a blind man on a galloping horse would never notice! grin

This morning I’m off to a maker’s market in a church hall close to DD’s house, she’ll probably meet me there before she rushes off to collect children from their sports club.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

Good morning and it’s another gorgeous day here on the Suffolk coast. This week has been unbelievable. The weather must break soon! ?. There are already swimmers and fisherman on the beach. The usual runners are meeting up for their Saturday morning 5 kl health run. It’s very popular and usually about 50 keen people descend on the beach and follow up by having breakfast in the cafe. We like to watch ??.

Yesterday I made passata with my surplus tomatoes. I didn’t get much out of a kilo of toms but it is very tasty.

Our fish from the local fisherman was gorgeous (rock eel , which we haven’t had for a long time).actually too much for us so I’ll make a small fish pie with the leftovers.

Dh just off to get the weekly papers and he will try to get diesel for our journey home on Monday.

Welcome back Urms . I was thinking of you and hoping the airports were ok . Heathrow, apparently was grid locked as the e gates had broken down. Passengers left in planes on the tarmac and the terminals rammed with people. I’m glad your journey went well. ?

Sar enjoy the football match.

Elizabeth have a lovely weekend.

Mick enjoy York.a beautiful city .

Wishing you all a good weekend. ????

Good morning Mick in York, and all his followers. Sunny so far in Suffolk.
There’s a lot of DGC minding going on today on this thread. We have ours too, from lunchtime today until tomorrow. Then it’s the whole lot of them to lunch, with a request for pork and crackling. No pressure there then!
Need to tidy up today - the littlies are pretty good with a duster and the small vacuum cleaner. ?
We had a great time at Dunwich yesterday with delicious fish and chips eaten on the beach and a snooze in the sun. It was a very quiet day birdwise - only a couple of young gulls and a magpie, despite a stop at a heath on the way back.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

I thought of you nannytopsy having your fish and chips. Is the Heather still out on the Heath? . I expect it’s seen it’s best by now.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. Enjoy York Mick; splendid place. DS lives there. He will be coming down here this morning, though, to take his dad to a football match and stay over for a night, which will be lovely. GS is running in a schools cross country competition this morning, so I will be silently cheering him on.
Enjoy your day one and all.

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle. Looks like you will have decent weather for your trip, Mick.
The news on fuel supplies caught me with a low tank so, as the car is my only way of getting about bar an expensive taxi, I nipped out mid morning yesterday to fill up. There were short queues at 3 filling stations but I suspect it got worse later on.
I cancelled a post-lunch hair appointment as I'd had a voicemail from the developer's customer care department to say the plumber would attend to clear my ensuite sink blockage. He didn't come. Another weekend when I can't use the ensuite. I'm not happy, neither with the service or the fact that I can't sort a problem I've always sorted before elsewhere.
Today, ironing looms and hopefully some gardening. Another area where I've been let down, the gardener/landscaper who made a date to come and give me a quote for turf removal didn't come either. I'm a moaning Minnie this morning! Will give myself a shake and a talking to. I think I'll do some gardening retail therapy and order some shrubs and trees for late autumn planting.
Let's all have a cheerful day....

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton. Still waiting for my newspaper to arrive so I can make a coffee and attack the cryptic crossword; it is very late this morning.

Had a very boozy enjoyable lunch with a friend yesterday, where we set the world to rights and reminisced over equally boozy enjoyable dinners at each other's houses when both our DHs were with us. Got home safely on the bus and then booked a coach outing for us to Chatsworth and its Christmas markets in November; something to look forward to.

A trip is planned to the garden centre this afternoon for some winter bedding for my pots by the front door. Shall have a good mooch around and have a coffee and perhaps cake.

Enjoy your day in York, Michael; not been there for years.

Also looking forward to seeing the waistcoat grandMattie. Have a pleasant Saturday eceryone.

Good morning from rather dull West Kent. Now back from holiday in beautiful Norfolk and Lincolnshire and ready to tackle the washing and ironing ugh!
Enjoy York Mick, many happy trips there.

Good morning everyone, especially those reading but unable to post
It has rained overnight, so I don’t need to water plants , except the bell peppers and ? in the wee plastic greenhouse, a cucumber plant is hanging in there too , but it might come down today , I must plant the seeds earlier next year , they were mini cucumbers and very tasty
I’ve been up since seven , so why am I still in my pjs ?
Off to the shower ?

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Enjoy York, Mick, even I haven't been for a few years and it's only 21 miles from here, it is a beautiful city!
Today, I think will be a mundane day - picking up shoes from being repaired, picking up the remaining pictures from the mini exhibition.
Have decided the new land lines will have to go back, I want to choose which calls I block, it's just blocking them all - very peaceful, but!!

You have certainly got plenty of inspiration for painting on Angelsey LauraNorder, especially from Plas Newydd.
Hugs for GrandMattie and Harrigran
Have the best day you can, folks!

Good morning Mick (Bon voyage!) and all from a dull Lancashire coast. Have a lovely day Mick, one of my regular day trips.
Emerging from a hangover after the wake on Thursday. Don’t drink now and forget how low my tolerance is. Kicking myself as had to cancel a hairdressing appointment for ye olde roots and art group, really not worth it, throw in my sciatica and I’ll have to start behaving myself.
Off to spec savers now, or should that be brainsavers, still feeling delicate.
Thoughts to Harrigran and grandMattie.

Jaxjacky Sat 25-Sept-21 10:21:45

Good morning all from an overcast S Hants. I had, for me an utter scaredy cat, significant work done on my teeth yesterday, I started off petrified and ended ecstatically happy.
Today is allotment and some planting in the garden.
Enjoy your trip to York Mick.
So quick with the waistcoat grandMattie thinking of you, Harrigran and wondering how GrannySomerset is?
Take care all.
