Anything that helps protect us is to be welcomed.. However if I’ve read the information that I’ve read online correctly then not all banks are in this scheme yet, but will be in time. e.g, Nat West now but TSB not until a later date.

i find asking them lots of questions seems to work.
eg where is your office, how do you get there, which station etc.
that usually throws them.

Just a word of warning. If the scammer doesn't clear down when you hang up, he/she could still be on the line when you attempt to make that next call and impersonate the organisation you are trying to contact. Try to use a different phone. Always listen for dial tone first before keying the number.

Same here Meryl. I once had a very convincing call from ‘my Bank’. Really concerned, so I rang the Bank but from my mobile in case there was some way the previous caller could record any of my details. Must be 20 years ago - scams are nothing new.

If I were to receive a scam call relating to my bank I would never use that same phone to call 159.
Never forget these scammers are always one ( or more ) steps ahead of anything our security people can think of.

Thank you. Too much of this going on nowadays. Must admit I tend err on the side of caution, and if I don’t recognise the number, I don’t answer the phone.
