Hi, all again. yes, "Urms". My other son and his family live 400 m away from my house. It`s going to be nice to explore living in Britain again and visit some of the places you have mentioned in your posts as being beautiful or interesting.

Wind has brought different swans from the lake to hiss for food. I still feel bad about telling a hissing swan 2 months ago, that it wasn’t the way to get me to feed it. Forgetting that a hiss is all swans can manage. No green swans this morning. The wind has dispersed the thick algae’s which make the lake look disgustingly dirty. Hope it stays dispersed for a few weeks at least. It’s stopped the smaller bird like coots from coming out onto the grass and even the Canadian Geese dislike going into it, even to get the food most of us throw out for them. There are just so many swans at the moment that I doubt if they would all survive if they had to survive from feeding from the lake only. Well , it’s a lagoon really. Man made for draining many years ago. A dog walkers paradise! And what dogs. Haven’t seen my favourite nuisance dog recently though. A perky, chubby French Bulldog who chased a squirrel up a tree 2yrs ago and got stuck nearly 6 foot up the tree himself. Was hilarious watching his Mister and Mrs, trying to get him to jump down. Kept thinking of phoning the Fire Service to rescue a dog stuck up a tree. He was eventually dragged down by his Mister climbing on the back of his bending down Mrs.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very wet Carlisle.
Yesterday I had to be out early and take the car down towards Whitehaven for its service. I'm glad the weather wasn't like todays. I sat and read the hour and a half it took and then drove back via a garden centre where I got cake and coffee. I was then pleased to find they had new stock in and bought some yews and hollies as a back drop to my proposed shrub border.
I passed several filling stations, all with fuel and no queues so the situation is good here.
This morning the plumber came early to fix my 3 week old blockage in the ensuite sink. No wonder I couldn't clear it, he dismantled the pipe behind the pedestal and removed about 5 inches of solid plasticky black gunge. His conclusion being that it was probably due to workmen rinsing off tools and the stuff reacting with the normal stuff I put down. Plus he found a slightly deformed and leaky joint and replaced the part so hopefully all is now good.
I have to go out after lunch to have another missing crown replaced by the dentist so I'm hoping the rain will have eased off which, so far, it shows no sign of doing.
I'm glad you found that car key harrigran, I believe they are very expensive to replace.

Urmstongran you could be right. It is a very old boat but he has done an awful lot to it. He knows I won't go on it til it's updated. Hopefully next year we will go away for a few days at a time. X

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Lancashire coast.
Wonderful violin and piano recital yesterday, I felt really moved, partly because it was my late husband’s birthday who died in 2016. I must say I do enjoy taking the bus for a change, it’s livelier, even though numbers are down.
A little shopping after the performance and bought a black jump suit, useful with a warm polo neck, but a b***er for visits to the loo…
I’m really pleased with my new red winter coat, it’s nice and cheerful.
Off to sing at music club today, so getting my stuff together for that and want to paint two birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. Need to stay in a bit more.

Last night I was baby sitting for DGS, isn't it strange DD keeps telling me his nightly routine, but he doesn't seem to be aware of it?
This morning DH has a hospital appointment with the dietitian so I shall accompany him. This pm a church club is restarting with a few changes. 1. it's moving from the evening to the afternoon and 2. it's the 1st Tuesday of the month instead of the 2nd. This evening I will probably collapse in my chair!!

How exciting amselarin plans are coming together at last!

Good morning Mick and all from rainy Lueneburg. As I haven`t been posting for a while, I thought I would let you know what is happening now. I have booked a flight to Britain for this month. Unfortunately the travel agency informed me, that they wouldn`t take a booking for the dog. So, now I am coming for a few weeks only to have a look at my house and to buy some furniture. Waldi is going into a doggy hotel. Waldi is 14 years old and I hate to leave him. She has got rather special needs like being tucked in every night with the duvet covering her completely. I am not sending my furniture over as the quote was rather expensive and they couldn`t give me a date. Anyway, I am rather excited to see my family after such a long time. I could only book a direct flight to Cambridge not Manchester. So I shall travel by train to Liverpool via Manchester after spending a few day with my family in Cambridge. One good thing, since Monday I only have to take a Covid test when I get to Britain and not the test before I get to Britain. I can`t wait.
I have noticed that a few regular poster are missing. I hope that they are well. I wish you all happiness and good thoughts to the ones with problems. Keep well.

Good morning from NW Kent where it is very damp after torrential rain but sun now shining. Off to try a new hairdresser this morning after mine unexpectedly moved on. Feels like a real adventure. My DIL's mum has arrived from France and pleased to hear olddudders is on his way.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is slowly brightening. Torrential rain during the night.

DH has finally got a day on his boat, it has been rewired this last week or so and he has been like a lost soul with nowhere to go.

Urms I too have sorted out lots of old bits of gold jewelry. I took a mixed load to a local jewelers and I was very surprised at how much he gave me for them.

Think I am losing the plot as I cannot find the bag of DH’s prescriptions, collected last Thursday. Have an assortment of admin tasks which need attention and a friend is calling in for coffee.

The sun is shining at the moment. As greyduster says, not what was forecast at all. It did rain torrentially through the early hours though.

Not a lot planned today, other than research new/newish cars as mine is not at all happy and keeps letting me down. It’s 17 so I suppose I can’t really grumble. I don’t want anything big, but it needs to be reliable.

Nice to hear that Olddudders is coming over later this month Ash. His February appointment will soon come round, but still not good if he is still in pain.

Yoga on zoom - the first for ages but it definitely keeps my limbs moveable, along with an occasional "adjustment" from the expensive chiropractor.

I wasn't going to bother making Christmas food this year. I still have no cooker and the family don't appreciate plum puds and fruit cake.

Good morning from Shropshire where the torrential rain is back.

We had a good day yesterday with B.He didn’t wake until 9.10 but was in the best mood.We stayed and had a Chinese so late home and straight to bed for me when we got home.

We have just had a lady knock on the door to say she has a large package for us.She was on her way to work so we will collect it later.It is an oil heater and too heavy for her to lift.She lives on the other side of town,the address bears no similarity.There have been lots of posts on the local Facebook group about parcels being dropped at random houses?Very grateful she made the effort to drive over and tell us.

Ash, glad that olddudders is feeling well enough to travel?and corner I hope the physio can put your mind at rest over your concerns.

Stilllearning, my daughter always used to be disappointed she didn’t need glasses.She has finally been told she needs them at 35 years old!

Good morning from SW London where we’ve had torrential rain and wind over night but a bright clear sky at the moment. Made chicken soup in my slow cooker yesterday so having that for lunch later. A bit of gardening and a keep fit class for me today.

It’s lovely and bright out after a wet night , it saved me watering some revamped plants !

Morning all from here in the north. So far most of us have positive messages and that's a lovely way to kick start the day. Thank you for sharing as usual. My mission for today is to try to locate a short piece of metal tubing. My rotary drier decided to snap the other day but happily there was no washing on it at the time. Yippee. This will concentrate the mind, methinks. Hope you all have a bit of success in any challenges today no matter how trivial.

It’s a beautiful sunny morning in Oxfordshire after a very wet night.
Changed all the bedding yesterday on 2 singles and 3 king sized beds and go it all dry! Plus a mountain of towels, all built up after DD1 and the GCs visited last weekend, I was too tied up with youngest daughter being ill to do it before.
Just my bed to do today…..
She is still so up and down I wonder when it will ever end.
Hope all can find some sunshine in their day and hugs for those with cares and worries, especially granmattie and harrigran. Best wishes also to marydoll we miss you.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dry South Yorkshire where the sun keeps putting in spasmodic appearances. I don’t know what happened to the apocalyptic weather that was forecast for us. I had visions of both DD and GS walking to work and school in torrential rain. A cleaning day for us today before we are overwhelmed by dust! Glad you had a good day out at the cycling, Mick!

A couple of people this morning have mentioned ‘health walks’ which I’ve noticed before today and I do wonder how it differs from ordinary walks. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Supermarket shop today and I also have a couple of online orders to collect so I’ll have a wee jaunt to the retail park in the next town. I’ll think of Marydoll whilst I’m having a trawl through TKMaxx.

Morning from a dull S Lanarkshire. Looking forward to a lunch out with three friends who I worked with for many years. We were in the habit of regular lunches every three months or so until Covid struck and have only managed one garden meeting since March 2020.

I love my time with DGC on Sunday and part of Monday, 6 year old DGS had made valiant attempts on Saturday to ‘fail’ his eye test and eventually suggested hopefully that he could wear glasses with clear glass!

Blood tests this morning so I had better get moving, as always thinking of all who need support.
Good news Ash you must be so happy that DH will be with you again soon.
