Good Morning Wednesday 6th October 2021
(69 Posts)Good morning everyone from South Manchester it’s a lovely start to the day with an apricot sky over in the east.
I have an appointment with the practice nurse later this morning for a blood sugar test. I’ve walked more All summer but I’ve not lost any weight and I’ve drunk a lot of ? oh dear. Wish me luck.
Happy meet up for you Essex grans today I bet you have a wonderful time! Another here who will be keeping you in my thoughts grandMattie over the foreseeable. And thank you for your reply Ashcombe I’m a nosey beggar aren’t I?
I’ve seen a rail of brown teddy coats in a little boutique shop round the corner. I noticed them by the window as we went out for a walk yesterday. If they have one in my (very) large size I’d like one for the autumn. They look so snuggly don’t they?
We are collecting the smalls from school & taking them to their swimming lessons. It’s L’il Miss’ first ever. Mind you she did a lot of playing in the pool in Spain on her holidays so she should be okay. She’s just a bit shy ...
Good morning from blustery Colchester where it's 11° (real feel 4) and the heating has bumped on.
I expect we'll sit inside for our weekly Wednesday coffee meetup.
I came home yesterday to find that DH hadn't painted the kitchen ceiling as he couldn't find the paint. He'd started on the walls instead. He queried the colour I'd chosen as he said it looked white to him.
You've guessed it, he was using a tin that was clearly marked brilliant white for walls and ceiling. He'd seen the word wall and that was that!!!!
Marydoll we need you here.
Much love to all, especially Grandmattie ?x
Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it looks promising weatherwise!
We had a successful trip to a gallery yesterday, buying a print for the lounge and a mirror for the hall. The picture is of DH's 'spiritual home' - a local landmark called Beacon Hill. Philistine that I am, I really like the colours!
We had a video call yesterday from the Wondrous Wolfie who will be 3 next week. He excitedly told us that he had done 3 wees and a poo on the potty!!!
Off to see my brother this morning and then on the hunt for new bedroom wall lights.
Thinking of grandMattie and her family today and tomorrow, harri and hoping Topsy has a good meet up!
grandMattie
Wishing the Grans meeting up today a lovely time. I wish there were some in my area as I’d be up for it.
Good morning after another very blustery night in East Yorkshire.
Yesterday was a good day . A few more of the old crowd joined us at coffee morning. It was just like it used to be. As we know each other from being members at a local gym a lot of us are now feeling like we will go back. It is mostly classes we do and it looks like the gym we use are in the process of putting more classes on so that is promising.
Then DH was able to rectify the issue with the boiler after ringing the manufacturer. Phew!
Today my only plans are meeting DIL for coffee and a catch up.
Grandmattie thinking of you and your family in the sad days ahead. Stay strong ?
Grammaretto hope it goes well at the dentist.
Take care everyone.
Good morning everyone from a bright dry Northampton. May find some washing to do.
Good luck at the dentist Grammaretto. My dentist replaced my filling yesterday, and said no drilling required, so no injection, and it was completely painfree! All clear for another 6 months.
A windy health walk in the afternoon, followed by coffee and chat in the cafe - where I found this flamingo cushion, and immediately thought of GN!
A new hall radiator being delivered this morning and the gas engineer is coming this afternoon to install it, so it is a day in for me.
May a flamingo brighten up your day; thinking of grandMattie.
Morning Mick and all
The wind has calmed down after a blustery night.
Thinking of you grandMattie sending (((hugs))) hoping your inner strength and family will help you in the coming hours ??
Looking forward to catching up with the Essex grans later ☕️?
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning, everyone, from a calm, fine Torbay.
Dear grandMattie: I pray for you to find the strength to see you through these next few days, helped by the presence of family and friends. Having loved ones there can be a great comfort as you see Philip onto his final journey. ?
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments yesterday about DH's travel plans for later this month. Urmstongran: he won’t be flying (no airport near him) or driving (left hand drive car) but travelling by rail/€star. Unless we travel together in my car, he favours rail travel, not least because his employment in the railway industry gives him concessionary or free travel.
Good luck at the dentist, Grammaretto! I often take paracetamol before I go if I’m anxious.
Thoughts and prayers for all who are suffering, including harrigran ?????
Hope the next few days go as well as they can in the circumstances for you Grandmattie and the funeral service is a comfort to you all. x
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It has stopped raining and promises to be a pleasant day.
I am to have a tooth extracted this morning, maybe two. I am dreading it.
If I'm up to it I shall be plying some hand-spun wool and picking apples for pressing later.
Sending love towards grandMattie for the days to come.
???
Good morning all from the Black country, dry but still very windy.
Mother and toddler this morning then home to rest sciatica still playing up.
Thinking of grandMattie and family ?.
Enjoy your day all and may you all find some ?.
Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s very blowy in Suffolk still but I don’t know about rain - too early for me to get up!
Thinking of you grandmattie for a few very hard days to come.
I shall put a duster to work this morning now that the decorator has finished, although he will be back to do the doors sometime.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Morning Mick and All.
There is a beautiful sky here in South Bucks with layers of different colours starting with grey/blue then orange then a light blue.
grandMattie no wonder you had a bad night with all that has happened to your family. You will be in my prayers and thoughts for Philip’s funeral tomorrow. Surrounded by your family and friends you will get through. ??
grandMattie
♥️ ?
Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is still dark but I believe a reasonable day is forecast.
I am meeting up with two grans today, one I've met before, one I haven't. Looking forward to it.
Thinking of you and your family grandmattie ?.
Have the best Wednesday you can everyone xx
Good morning from a chilly, windy E Kent.
I had a very bad night and am shattered.
It’s going to be a long day. DD and family are arriving this evening for Philip’s funeral tomorrow. His best friend is coming to lunch…. All the funeral preparations are done now.
Keep us in your hearts please.
harri, I hope the night has been kind to you.
Carpe diem. May you manage to find some happiness and love today. ??????
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but its dry this morning in Brackley .
Today plans are apart from a small shop , to stay in and watch cycling from midday , mind you the season all though delayed earlier is nearly over .
What I have also noticed is with some trees considering the time of year are still green and showing little in the way of shedding leaves as normal , maybe early or overnight frosts may help .
Take Care,
Mick
