Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but its dry this morning in Brackley .
Today plans are apart from a small shop , to stay in and watch cycling from midday , mind you the season all though delayed earlier is nearly over .
What I have also noticed is with some trees considering the time of year are still green and showing little in the way of shedding leaves as normal , maybe early or overnight frosts may help .
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon, Mick and all GMfolks.
There was frost on the cars in North Lanarkshire at 7 am today when I was walking the Granddog, bright and sunny now.

I'm another who reads daily but seldom posts, but I've been very moved by the poignant posts from Grandmattieflowers Harrigran??? and Mawflowers.
Just to say that I'm thinking of all those with sorrow and illness, sending love and prayers to those who need/ wish them. ?????

I'll be remembering Grandmattie, and all those who love and mourn Philip, especially the fine young man in the Star Wars waistcoat, at Mass tomorrow morning.

Rather late getting up to a lovely sunny day in Anglesey.
Sad memory Maw flowers
Tough days ahead grandMattie flowers
In my thoughts Harrigran flowers
Hoping for some random moments of happiness for all. Those little unexpected things that make you smile.
I’ve got my shorts out again, not a sight you want to imagine, but love having brown legs, and am about to help Orlin spread some newly delivered gravel.
Good tip about drinking water before giving blood Stillearning, I’ll try it next time.
flowers and ?? for all

EkwaNimitee, sympathy from a fellow “on her way to toothless hagdom” sufferer! I have an appointment booked for an extraction in a couple of weeks as my front tooth post-crown was glued back for the last time by my dentist with dire warnings of likely infections if I don’t have the crumbling base tooth taken out. I already have a partial denture so another tooth will be added. Previous extractions have been hidden further back. I blame soft Scottish water and the ending of sugar rationing in 1954 for the state of my teeth ?

Late good morning from coastal West Sussex. Bluest of blue skies here today but cool and breezy.

Thoughts with you and your family, Grandmattie.

Thoughts also with you, Harrigran and your family. Thank you for sharing that beautiful picture of you sitting with DH, listening to your DD playing the piano below you.

GrannySomerset, no one with any humanity or common sense thinks that carers can carry on indefinitely without outside support. I hope you are in contact with a local carers support group and are able to ask for more help. I could start on a rant about politicians and their ignorance of real lives but I will spare you and everyone on here! flowers to you.

Maw flowers

Now to my pan of raspberries and sugar waiting to become jam smile.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Lancashire coast.
Firstly, thinking of you grandMattie, such a hard time but hope the family’s support will help ease such a difficult day.
I’m pondering putting my heat on, holding out, but I do face the Irish ‘ocean’, one of the final residential roads before the sea in this town, so that’s my excuse. It seems warmer outside than in.
I’m a bit overtired after gallivanting out every day and singing yesterday. I have been asked to sing in Xmas concerts too with more get togethers so will have to have a think. But I’m a long time dead so out again today to a piano recital. It’s going to have to be early nights for me to get through it all, not something I find easy to do.
Sending thoughts to harrigran?

Good morning,

It’s a bright, sunny but chilly morning here today after torrential rain and strong winds yesterday evening and through the night. Quite a contrast.

? grandMattie. I hope you will be able to draw some comfort from having family and close friends by your side over the next few days ?.

Maw ? for you, too. A difficult day.

? Harrigran

Take care everyone.

Good Morning all from bright and breezy Harrogate - I sense today is the day that goes wrong!! Judging by my first attempt at posting here - my login details where required and not recognised!! finally got in as you see. This morning I was incensed receiving an email from a company who I did order from but cancelled when they started adding charges after they got my Credit details, have now added more than twice the price!! I have been on to my bank, which makes me think of chocolate teapots - can't imagine why!! They've been too happy to block my card in the past, but now I have to fight for everything!! Moan over.
hugs to GrandMattie, Harrigran and Maw such difficult days

Have the best day you can folks

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny but chill Carlisle.
I went to the dentist yesterday in torrential rain and got wet just crossing the road to them. There was only a crown to fix back on but it wasn't simple. He had a struggle as the base had deteriorated but finally succeeded. The prognosis is poor...if it comes off again no root canal treatment and new crown is possible, it will be another extraction. I seem to be on the way to toothless old hag-dom....As I was told not to chew on that side, I asked him to check the other side where I'd had an extraction 3 weeks ago. A good job he looked as he found a little shard of bone sticking out that had been working its way out. He removed it, obviously causing a bleed so I couldn't eat on that side either so it was home with instructions for only cold and soft food. So an evening of eating a dinner well mashed up and getting it down very very slowly. The joys of getting ancient!
Enough of my trivia...I'm constantly thinking of you grandMattie and harrigran. These are such difficult times for you both. I'm glad you both have families by for support.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannySomerset Wed 06-Oct-21 09:09:44

Thinking of grandMattie, harrigran and Maw on a difficult day for them and hoping that love surrounds them.

I see the Secretary of State for Health is telling us that family should be the people who care for the old and the ill rather than the state. As a carer whose children are at a considerable distance and who have very demanding lives of their own I don’t see how this will ever be possible, and whilst I am absolutely prepared to soldier on I do wonder what will happen if/when it all gets too much!

Chrissielou Wed 06-Oct-21 09:07:53

I rarely post but do read every day. Grandmattie, I wish you strength and comfort in these terrible dark days.

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country

Didn't wake up until 8.00am this morning (usually awake at 6.30). Had a disturbed night. I suffer from Tinnitus, which doesn't usually bother me, but in the night I heard singing! I thought the radio must be on, but realised if it was I wouldn't hear it. Most odd, I have never had that before!

Walking group with u3a today, then who knows what?

granMattie holding you in my thoughts today and the coming weeks. Maw flowers

Gelisajams Wed 06-Oct-21 08:31:28

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s finally stopped raining. A blue sky streaked with salmon pink greeted me this morning.
Hang on in there Mattie it been such a hard few weeks for you.
such a sad memory for you too Maw.
DH phoned the Dr yesterday. He’s got a real life appointment with a physio tomorrow. There is hope yet!
Take care and stay safe everyone ?
