A very warm welcome back to you Marydoll from NE Hampshire. I hope you feel able to continue posting, even if not every day.

Harrigran what you and your DH are having to cope with is just awful. I hope at least just one medical person realises that you need a champion to fight your corner.

Goodness me, after a very long time my granddaughter is coming to see a film with me. She must really like James Bond!

Be kind to yourselves everyone ?

Good morning all and the sun has broken through the mist here in Essex.

Sar - sorry to hear about the cancelled concert. I did read that Phil Collins was unable to perform. One day… hopefully. ?

Harrigran - take care of yourself. So sorry to hear you are going through such a tough time. ?

Today I will prepare for tomorrow’s visitors . They are arriving early, so I will get everything ready today.

grandMattie - sometimes ‘humdrum’ can be good. Take care ❤️

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day.

Good morning all from an overcast South Wales. It has been a slightly stressful couple of weeks as have been back to face to face teaching after 18 months online. Off for a beach walk with a rather obstinate giant breed dog (when she sits she's not budging) & then off out for lunch with DS2. Have as good a day as you can.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 09-Oct-21 08:45:24

Good morning all. It’s dry and bright here in East Yorkshire .
Up early today for us as this morning I am taking dgs to the theatre. We are seeing The tiger who came to tea. First time back in a theatre since Feb 2020 - also a little apprehensive but so looking forward to it. So am taking him for a drink and snack before as it starts at 11.30. We shall also be going into the city centre by train - another treat for him!
No plans for later. Dh will pick us up after so perhaps a late lunch out. Then Strictly tonight. It’s movie(grrr film) night I already have one of the songs as an ear worm. The one from Muana “You’re welcome “.
Good to see you back Marydoll
Maw sounds like it went well yesterday.

notagran what a wonderful day you had. I’m keen to visit the exhibition at KP.

Take care all.

Morning all, especially Marydoll, welcome back!

Busy day yesterday helping to collect youngest DGC from school, long journey out here, the traffic was horrendous. They were staying with DD overnight and are all off this morning to visit Legoland and various friends, for our schools’ October break. DSiL had to decamp to mine last night, he leaves for work at 5 am and didn’t want to waken the small guests.

Quiet day today I think, so I’ll try to get started with my book club selection, why do I find it hard to settle to reading now, I used to long for the opportunity.

Good wishes to everyone for a peaceful weekend and supported for those who need it most. ?harrigran

Good morning all,

A grey start to the morning but it’s not cold.

Off to look at cars later, as mine is starting to let me down. Not bought one for years, so that should be interesting!

So nice to see you posting again, Marydoll - welcome back.

Sending kind thoughts to grandMattie and * Harrigran*.

Hope you all have a good Saturday.

Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

Still on the search for a new mattress- it's a blinking minefield. Also choosing paint colours- yet another minefield.

Good morning everyone from a lovely village in Herts where the day looks promising weather wise.
Am hoping for a quiet day as it's been a busy week. Yesterday I took a train journey, having finally bought a senior rail card, to visit new baby grandson and parents. It was a lovely day and a joy to see how well they are coping. DS2 works from home some days so that helps.
I'm in the middle of watching" Maid" series on Netflix and really enjoying it, will watch a bit more today. Someone on here mentioned it so thank you for that. Next I will check out " The Starling" as my DIL recommended it.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.

Grandmajean Sat 09-Oct-21 08:25:46

Oh harrigran what an awful time you are having. How ridiculous to suggest a video call for such a sick man. I am glad the fall didn't result in any broken bones. I send you my wishes for a better day and. Some support.

Lovely cats Bluesapphire

Good Morning all from a dry and bright Severnside.

I had another nice FaceTime chat with my friend yesterday even though she did have some sad news to pass on. She showed me her new furniture.

I have an issue with one of my energy suppliers about my billing. Not sure how to go about it yet as reviews on them answering phones aren’t good. I expect it’ll sort itself out. The way of doing things have changed during COVID times, some for the good and others not so I find.

Your cats are beautiful BlueSapphire.

I have an appointment for my flu jab later so I wish you all a pleasant day and to take care ?

Good morning Mick, morning all from grey and drizzly South Lanarkshire.

Pleased to hear you had a decent sleep gMattie. Take things easy now.

This morning I have to pack for our week away. DD has rented a house in Berwick on Tweed and asked us to join them. It’s only a couple of hours away and we can’t get in till 5pm, I do wonder how much cleaning was done in holiday lets pre covid since they seem to need so much more time now.

I cooked and baked up a storm yesterday so we won’t go hungry for a few days anyway.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

multicolourswapshop Sat 09-Oct-21 08:20:24

Good morning everyone
Well that’s been a painful sleep having had a couple of paracetamols and an anti sickness tablet i managed to nod off for a few minutes I’m almost glad it’ll soon be time to get up. Himself is already on the move emptying the dishwasher. I can see the daylight from beyond the curtains and once I’m up and about my back will get relief I was told by the doctor my sore back is probably due to posture and no wonder - I’ve had a round back for years just like my mother and my sister it runs in the family. Hey ho it’s what it is.

Have a good day everyone virtual hugs all around. smile

annsixty Sat 09-Oct-21 08:19:46

Good morning all.
I just had to post to send sympathy and empathy to Harrigran , what a dreadful time you are having.
I have been there so I know just how you feel.
The lack of support you are getting is truly awful.
What happened to the caring profession?
I hope your family step up to the plate for you today.

dragonfly46 Sat 09-Oct-21 08:19:33

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Not much on today - may go looking at.cars. Did you find one kitty?

I was appalled at the way Harrigran and her DH are being treated. I do hope more help is forthcoming. It is a blessing your family are around. Sending you hugs.

Good morning all, I'm dipping my toe in the water again, after a difficult few weeks. My health has been quite poor, both mentally and physically, so a hiatus was sensible.

I hadn't forgotten you all and have been following all your trials and tribulations, but also the the joyful moments.
For those posters, who kept in touch, you will never know how much I valued your support and kindness. Thank you!

Sar we were at the Glasgow Genesis concert on Thursday evening. I am not a Genesis fan, but was afraid to let Mr MDoll out on his own, so accompanied him. Both he and Genesis surpassed themselves. ?
Country bumpkins on tour is probably the best description of us. I have never seen so many aging rockers in one place! ?

Genesis were outstanding. Shame about them having Covid. I have to say I was very uneasy the whole time, as this was my first public event, but just about everyone wore masks and we had to produce our vaccination passports.
Our adventures were not worthy of a novella, a novel would be required!
However, I spent yesterday in bed, worn out, but was worth it all just to see the joy on Mr MDoll's face, when they started playing.

Harri and Grandmattie have been particularly in my thoughts and prayers and I was so glad to see Cherry and Amselerin posting.
I hope you all have a very pleasant day and those struggling find the strength to get through it. Life is indeed difficult!

Now to read all the posts!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a chilly but beautiful morning on the IOW.
Taking a much postponed break from 2020, this time in memory of the lovely lady who booked it all for us but is sadly no longer here with us, a strange mix of being pleased to be here at last, but very sad that she isn’t with us, she was so looking forward to it.
Going to see if I can shoot at something later on, but there are a lot of people here so we will see.
Went for a walk along the beach at 7 am , beautiful….
Hope DD2 is okay at home, nephew is there just in case.
Have a good day everyone and for those who have worries and cares a big virtual hug.

harrigran Sat 09-Oct-21 08:10:08

Good morning from a mild NE where the sun is just rising.
Yesterday a doctor rang DH's mobile and said she may assess him by video call, when I realised what had happened I rang the surgery and told them to use some common sense. The doctor rang me and I said I would appreciate a visit and she did actually come to the house.
Between phone calls and Dr's attendance DH got out of bed and fell while I was out of the room. I had the most dreadful time trying to get him up and hurt my already weak tummy and back. I wanted to go and get a neighbour but he would not let me leave him. Doctor checked him over and thankfully no bones broken.
Told DD I would welcome some support today and she said she would come this morning.
Probably the last of the good weather today, enjoy the weekend.

NannyJan53 Sat 09-Oct-21 08:06:53

Good morning from a dull, but still very warm Black Country.

A walk yesterday with Mum along the Staffs railway walk, then a stop off at the Compton Charity shop where I found a pair of Next black boots (as good as new), and a lovely warm Parka type coat, also looked hardly worn. £13 for both! I had just given a large bag of clothes for charity shop, so I have some room smile

A canal walk today with my u3a canal group. Then I must do some housework this afternoon.

I hope your aches have eased now NanKate

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Greyduster Sat 09-Oct-21 08:00:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A rather non-descript day to our South Yorkshire Saturday. I slept badly. DH was restless because his arm is very painful after his covid booster yesterday. We are going to watch GS run in an inter schools cross country competition this morning, so maybe the weather will be an advantage, although it did rain in the night. It’s a long time since we watched him run so we’re looking forward to it. Then a quiet afternoon - DH is watching the football, and I hope to finally finish my knitting.
Enjoy the day the best way you can folks.
