This is subject to HS2 work taking place ,and the rerouting of the bus from Buckingham to Bicester but I am hoping this will not happen .
Plans when I return home , to watch the final classic cycle race on TV on Eurosport from Lombardy area.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to come.
An early start for me as I am off to Birmingham to help look after my 3 eldest GC while their parents are off to a 50th birthday bash. D2 is staying too - as I drew the line at all 3 plus dog for two nights singlehanded! I could have coped here but the boys have so many weekend commitments to be got to .
Yesterday at the Oratory was lovely - a wonderful tribute to my friend with sublime music (Faure’s Requiem) . I am proud to say I didn’t cry. I had been worried about that as I have found funerals especially hard since Paw died.
But oh London is tiring!
Anyway I wish you all a pleasant weekend with especial thoughts to Harrigran and Grandmattie.

Good morning Mick, Maw and everyone to come, and to those just reading.
Wishing you all a peaceful day x

Good morning Mick and All.

This is my second time of trying to post here ?

Awake at 5.00 gave up trying to sleep at 5.30 and made a cuppa, had a paracetamol for my aching wrist and chomped on. Rich Tea. The excitement is endless !

Going to the Garden centre to see if they had some realistic artificial flowers for DH to make me a small posy.

Good morning Mick, hope H2 works don’t skew your trip out, and all, from a dark, dry S Hants.
Newspaper day, more gardening and throw a colour on my hair…today’s plans. Imogen’s EEG went fine, no apparent physical response to the tests, the brain scan will go to the consultant for her appointment in a couple of weeks. (I wonder if Cherry is reading, she was most helpful earlier this year. grandMattie wishing you the gentlest of days after some harrowing ones.
Hoping yours is better too harrigran.
Have a pleasant Saturday all ??.

grandMattie Sat 09-Oct-21 06:51:46

Good morning from a dawning E Kent.
I was so tired last night that I was in bed and asleep by 2100! Of course that meant that I was wide awake and downstairs by 0400! I managed to sneak a good hour’s sleep on the recliner and have just woken up.
We had a lovely quiet and affectionate day with the family yesterday. They all left by 3 o’clock as DD and family had to get back to Bristol. She’s working today and tomorrow.
Iris’s party went well and DS called from India to watch an excited Iris open his presents. Lots of LEGO…
Back to our humdrum lives now. Rugby this p.m. for DH and pottering for me.
Hope harri and family have a gentle day, no nasty people in their lives; they deserve a little compassion and kindness.
Carpe diem, love well. ???????

Good morning, Mick and company from a chilly edge of Dartmoor where a pretty sunrise is forming.

Another one here who had to resort to paracetamol for various discomforts which prevented sleep, NanKate, so I sympathise!

Yesterday I enjoyed a walk around Simmons Park in Okehampton and a brief mooch around the shops. I’m travelling home later today.

Wishing everyone undertaking journeys safe travels and some ??? in your life. Special thoughts with grandMattie and *harrigran

Morning all from misty West Berkshire.
A quiet day today, grocery shopping this morning and a quick visit to my SIL in the afternoon.

I had a wonderful day yesterday when I went to Kensington Palace with my sister to see the Royal Style In The Making exhibition.
We followed it with lunch at The Wolseley and a little retail therapy in Fortnum & Mason .
We parked outside The Royal College of Music behind The Royal Albert Hall and was treated to a lovely musical backdrop whilst paying for the parking.
A perfect day .

Wishing you all a peaceful day .

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty corner of Somerset.

Another quiet day ahead waiting for a gas engineer I suspect has gone awol. I could be irritated if I’d allow myself to be.

Busy days for you maw. Hope there has been some compassion and basic common sense harri, your post yesterday left me speechless at the lack of care. Look after yourself grandMattie. Good luck with the buses mick.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all

Morning from a small village in West Oxfordshire. I had a glimpse through the curtains a minute ago and it looks misty. I am meeting younger son in London today. I have tickets for the Summer Exhibition at the RA. Lunch beforehand at the Hawksmoor.

Morning all! Lying here thinking that the day ahead holds nothing particularly exciting but have often discovered that can change unexpectedly. Hope so. I've a couple of little technical repair jobs that are proving a challenge and actually feel up to giving one of them a go today. 50/50 mental physical and I think I've got the first part almost cracked. The physical remains to be seen. Perhaps porridge will help! Love the radio programmes on a Saturday and then the icing on the cake wilI be Strictly. Yay! Have fun everyone.

nanna8 Sat 09-Oct-21 07:40:14

G’day everyone. Woke up early today but it is late afternoon here now. First day warm enough to wear a t shirt and sandals, a taste of Summer. We are still in a ridiculously harsh lockdown but the sunshine helps us all cope. This morning a beautiful red and green king parrot came to the window and peered in, they are so beautiful . We are not allowed any visitors to the home so I guess he will have to do !

Gelisajams Sat 09-Oct-21 07:40:21

Good morning from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. Today’s excitement includes tie-dye ing a hat for mummy, a visit to the soft play and an unbelievable amount of homework!
She’s only been in school a month!
Don’t know how we will fit it in before bedtime- she’s still asleep!
Thinking of Harrigran and family.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Sar53 Sat 09-Oct-21 07:42:59

Good morning from a misty Essex by the sea.
Food shopping this morning plus DH needs to buy some wood.
My daughter's and I heard yesterday that the Genesis concert we were going to on Monday has been postponed . We've had the tickets for about two years and do wonder if it will ever go ahead.
Have the best Saturday you can everyone xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but very mild for October
Pleased it went well yesterday Maw and it sounds like it’s a busy weekend ahead, enjoy!
I’m popping into town today for a bit of shopping, nothing much else planned although if it stays dry I’ll be carrying on with the garden tidy up
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

ginny Sat 09-Oct-21 07:53:24

Good morning all.
A bit of a wait and see day for us.
For various reasons we may or may not have friends coming for a meal. Will prepare for it and use over the weekend if they don’t make it. Plenty to keep us occupied otherwise.
Wishing you all a good Saturday with a smile along the way.

monk08 Sat 09-Oct-21 07:53:56

BlueSapphire Sat 09-Oct-21 07:54:58

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton. The cats have had a bit of excitement this morning and are standing guard by the patio doors, as they have just spotted a strange cat in the garden; it's one I've never seen before either.

DS is taking me to my Covid booster at lunchtime today, then mid-afternoon he will be dropping off the DGDs, as he and his partner are off to London to see a show, a delayed birthday present for him. The girls will be here overnight, so it will be an evening of Strictly. I am planning on doing a roast chicken, first time I have cooked one since DH died. Hope I can remember what to do!.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

BlueSapphire Sat 09-Oct-21 07:57:58

The cats on sentry duty!

Greyduster Sat 09-Oct-21 08:00:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A rather non-descript day to our South Yorkshire Saturday. I slept badly. DH was restless because his arm is very painful after his covid booster yesterday. We are going to watch GS run in an inter schools cross country competition this morning, so maybe the weather will be an advantage, although it did rain in the night. It’s a long time since we watched him run so we’re looking forward to it. Then a quiet afternoon - DH is watching the football, and I hope to finally finish my knitting.
Enjoy the day the best way you can folks.

NannyJan53 Sat 09-Oct-21 08:06:53

Good morning from a dull, but still very warm Black Country.

A walk yesterday with Mum along the Staffs railway walk, then a stop off at the Compton Charity shop where I found a pair of Next black boots (as good as new), and a lovely warm Parka type coat, also looked hardly worn. £13 for both! I had just given a large bag of clothes for charity shop, so I have some room smile

A canal walk today with my u3a canal group. Then I must do some housework this afternoon.

I hope your aches have eased now NanKate

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

harrigran Sat 09-Oct-21 08:10:08

Good morning from a mild NE where the sun is just rising.
Yesterday a doctor rang DH's mobile and said she may assess him by video call, when I realised what had happened I rang the surgery and told them to use some common sense. The doctor rang me and I said I would appreciate a visit and she did actually come to the house.
Between phone calls and Dr's attendance DH got out of bed and fell while I was out of the room. I had the most dreadful time trying to get him up and hurt my already weak tummy and back. I wanted to go and get a neighbour but he would not let me leave him. Doctor checked him over and thankfully no bones broken.
Told DD I would welcome some support today and she said she would come this morning.
Probably the last of the good weather today, enjoy the weekend.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 09-Oct-21 08:14:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from a chilly but beautiful morning on the IOW.
Taking a much postponed break from 2020, this time in memory of the lovely lady who booked it all for us but is sadly no longer here with us, a strange mix of being pleased to be here at last, but very sad that she isn’t with us, she was so looking forward to it.
Going to see if I can shoot at something later on, but there are a lot of people here so we will see.
Went for a walk along the beach at 7 am , beautiful….
Hope DD2 is okay at home, nephew is there just in case.
Have a good day everyone and for those who have worries and cares a big virtual hug.

Good morning all, I'm dipping my toe in the water again, after a difficult few weeks. My health has been quite poor, both mentally and physically, so a hiatus was sensible.

I hadn't forgotten you all and have been following all your trials and tribulations, but also the the joyful moments.
For those posters, who kept in touch, you will never know how much I valued your support and kindness. Thank you!

Sar we were at the Glasgow Genesis concert on Thursday evening. I am not a Genesis fan, but was afraid to let Mr MDoll out on his own, so accompanied him. Both he and Genesis surpassed themselves. ?
Country bumpkins on tour is probably the best description of us. I have never seen so many aging rockers in one place! ?

Genesis were outstanding. Shame about them having Covid. I have to say I was very uneasy the whole time, as this was my first public event, but just about everyone wore masks and we had to produce our vaccination passports.
Our adventures were not worthy of a novella, a novel would be required!
However, I spent yesterday in bed, worn out, but was worth it all just to see the joy on Mr MDoll's face, when they started playing.

Harri and Grandmattie have been particularly in my thoughts and prayers and I was so glad to see Cherry and Amselerin posting.
I hope you all have a very pleasant day and those struggling find the strength to get through it. Life is indeed difficult!

Now to read all the posts!
