Alas, the family meal that my daughter 2 booked for Saturday to try and cheer David up will not now be happening, because his wife doesn`t want to go.

We have had a very productive day today catching up with all household stuff after being away last week for our nieces wedding,weekend visitors and childcare and medical appointments the last couple of days.

We also made a practice batch of cupcakes with kittens faces on for DGD’s birthday later in the month.I won’t add a picture as they looked more like Halloween cakes?We used smarties for the eyes but need to find something different?thinking maybe jelly tots if you can still get them?

Urms, my days of stuffing a mushroom are long gone too!

Glad to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your 81st birthday mr.soop. Ooh the array of drinks on offer look very tempting. A glass of red ? for me please it will be just the ticket with the lamb chops I’ve popped in the oven. I realise that I don’t so much ‘cook’ these days (as in follow a recipe) but merely ‘assemble’ food. Good food simply cooked seems to be my mantra these days. I’ve set the table, plates in to warm and we will have baked potatoes and PEAS ❤️

Life really is too short to stuff a mushroom. I’ve actually done that in the distant past!

Mr Soop wishes to share his chocolate birthday cake with you all. He has some Champagne, a good red, white and rose wine and various other intoxicating stuff which he wishes to share. On the other had, he is happy to serve ginger beer, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea or coffee. He has his waiter's cloth over his arm. All orders will be honoured and, you may get a virtual hug. Well worth forming a disorderly line for.

I should join him. It is his birthday after all. What's more, he's lovely with it.

Hellogirl1 I have just this minute shared your post with Mr Soop. We are both so sorry to hear that your dear son has had what must be a heartbreaking diagnosis.
Your daughter's bed sores will be beyond painful. Again, we are sending our very best wishes for her speedy recovery. You, darling girl, are NOT a misery. FAR, far from it. We wish that we could call in and spend time with you and perhaps be useful.

Mr Soop is blushing becomingly and grinning from ear to ear. "His ladies" have put a pertly spring in his step. Here is a grinning thank you to you all.

This morning I was wishing I was in a nice warm kitchen as I was in a meeting which went on too long in a very cold place. Apart from the fact that I was aware my parking ticket was about to run out I was longing for a coffee. I only have one each day, but boy do I need that one! I am now warm and have just had an afternoon cup of tea. I have been using my laptop to sing along with practice tracks for a new work our Choral Society is performing in a couple of weeks time. It's telling the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims who came from our area (North Notts and South Yorkshire) originally. We had to learn it initially via Zoom over the summer, which was pretty awful, but got us started.
I love Marydoll's Alexa tales - we only have the one and it must be very strange when they communicate with each other. Ours sometimes wakes up even when we haven't said the word though.
