Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.

Just sneaking into the kitchen early today for a quick cup of tea, I’m at DD1 house and it’s still very quiet
The DGSs have swimming lessons first thing then we’re off out somewhere, not sure where yet. Yesterday in between the showers we walked alongside the river and to a nearby park where the autumn colours we’re beautiful. We had lunch in a cafe overlooking the river and then a walk back.
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, take care all

I like Albariño too ( she said hopefully)

Just got into a freshly made bed with new bed linen and new pillows. Bliss! But will the pillows be comfortable?

Doodle Fri 29-Oct-21 21:43:53

? soop is clearing the wardrobe of clutter……….making space for some ravishing new outfits perhaps ?
Blossoming hope you and your DH are both feeling much improved soon.
Viognier you say Urms ?. Hmm yes a pleasant little number should be fine with the chicken I think. ?
Good news about the jabs Kitty. Ours next week.
Have a restful night all.

kittylester Fri 29-Oct-21 20:23:31

I did my wardrobe when I put my summer clothes away. I do that everything I swap clothes. DH on the other hand..........!

Feeling a bit headachy after our excitement (or the jab) last night so might go to bed early while dh watches his team on TV.

TOYA

Good evening kitcheners. Heavy heavy rain all day. Had people round for coffee this morning. Hopefully I remembered how to "host"... My mother remains asymptomatic which is amazing. My stomach still lurches when the phone rings but only a few more days to go. soop I too am blitzing items that I do not need/have never needed. Gave a couple of items to my visitors. Just packing some Halloween goodie bags for the children we know will be round this weekend. x

Jaxjacky Fri 29-Oct-21 18:37:49

Both in the wars Blossoming hoping overnight, you both feel loads better..
It’s hard to accept isn’t it kitty, one of the other parts of ageing!
Winter clematis in, Asda delivered everything and the GC’s are here overnight, DD was going clubbing, but with recent reports, cinema it may be.
Enjoy your evening all.

Urmstongran Fri 29-Oct-21 18:34:33

‘Evening All’.

Am totally cream crackered. We minded our Boy Wonder & L’il Miss from 10am until 5pm. Mum & dad went to a fancy Dan restaurant in Manchester for lunch in the city. One of those ‘taster’ menus - 7 courses with wine tastes recommended by an attendant sommelier. They thoroughly enjoyed their ‘posh’ (for them/and would be us too) and said the food was amazing and the staff so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about all the locally sourced produce.

I’ve got wine chilling in the fridge. I said to Himself ‘I’ve matched a Viognier this evening with a Charlie Bigham chicken jalfrezi, what do you think?’. He was pretty impressed. Our tastes are simple. Bit like us really.

kitty The love and care you've given, is being returned...it's as it should be. smile

kittylester Fri 29-Oct-21 15:05:19

We have had our boosters today!!!! At least that will stop DD2 nagging! She was so disappointed that they have been unable to come as intended but is determined to come for the street fair in 2 weeks especially as we are babysitting their girls while they have a night out to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

DD1 and co were supposed to come today but DGS3 has tonsilitis and their GP advised them not to come 'just in case'.

Does anyone else feel old and feeble when their children are so keen to protect them. It doesn't seem long ago that we were the ones who did the protecting.

soop Fri 29-Oct-21 15:00:50

anno My next task...to clear the wardrobes yet again of clutter. The Red Cross and Salvation Army benefit from the regular exercise.

soop Fri 29-Oct-21 14:58:43

Urms I like the sound of your stepfather. I think that I would enjoy his company as you do.
Great name for a barge. I wonder where 'The Onion Bargee' had moved to.
Nothing nicer than slipping into cosy PJ's. I do so as soon as evening falls. I've taken a liking to a enjoying a cup of Ovaltine. Takes me back to childhood. wink

I have mislaid two days' of news from this group. I thought I'd been keeping up to date but evidently not. Kitty, belatedly I'm sending my condolences. What a shock and especially to your poor aunt.
Commiserations to Mr Blossoming. I've been on the phone to the dentist today to make several appointments stretching into next year. Nothing painful, though of course a regular check may throw a spanner in the works.
Love the latest cat portrait, soop. You have captured such lively character.
Sun is out, but not for long, I'm afraid. I have to go out and take a further load to a charity shop. Now, which of the six will i favour today?

soop Fri 29-Oct-21 14:53:02

My sympathies winging their way to Mr Blossoming. The infection will be extremely painful until the antibiotics intervene and he can have further remedial treatment with the dentist.
Also, Blossoming, I feel sorry that you are experiencing discomfort after the Covid booster. It is short-lived as a rule, and, as you say, preferable to the dire symptoms of the virus. We need all the protection that we can get.

soop Fri 29-Oct-21 14:45:51

Thank you for including a photo of "the boys" Grandmajean. I've downloaded it. Forgot to photograph it (before posting) for my personal album. I'm so pleased that it pleases you and your family.

Blossoming Fri 29-Oct-21 14:18:31

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Mr. B has been to the dentist, he has an infection and has been given antibiotics. He may need root canal work so has an appointment for later next month to discuss the options, but first it’s necessary to get rid of the infection. He is not in as much pain now so hopefully the antibiotics are working. I am suffering the after affects of my Covid booster. My arm is very sore and stiff, getting dressed was a battle, I want to sleep and my head is rather fuzzy. It’s nothing too awful though, and still preferable to no protection. I’m signing out for now, time for an afternoon nap. TOYA.

Just read your news kitty so sorry to hear about your cousin. My mum was always falling out with her family but I managed to keep in touch with them all. Very sad for your aunt.

Jaxjacky Thu 28-Oct-21 22:03:31

Ah, thanks Grandmajean, we don’t have pets so I had no idea!

Doodle Thu 28-Oct-21 21:59:33

Kitty sorry to hear your news about your cousin. Condolences to all the family ?
Blossoming hope your DH gets his tooth sorted soon.
Urms that looks a fun place. Lucky it is so close to you. Not likely to get stuck in traffic on the way home ?
Hope your friend gets better soon ann
Take care all

Grandmajean Thu 28-Oct-21 21:28:21
