Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.
Hope you had a lovely holiday Doodle. We’ve missed you!
?
I go away for a couple of weeks and just look what you lot get up to. Not only a new kitchen but more than 500 posts for me to catch up on (including the ones in the old kitchen)
It will be like reading a book.
I am now going to settle down and read through all I’ve missed but I won’t be able to post to all so just to say, it’s lovely to be back.
Welcome to anyone new I’ve missed. Hope all of you are safe and well. Take care and there’s a big box of Belgium chocolates on the work top so dip in.. ?
You seem like the best sort of gran, urms. I'm sure your efforts were much appreciated.
Cottage pie topped with crispy leeks and cheese sounds lovely, GG. Must add that idea to my list. I made Rick Stein's fish pie. It was very good but I think I'll 'defussify' his method for next time. All very well using a kitchenful of pans and utensils if you have minions to wash them up! I haven't that luxury.
Hope your decorating gets done on time, ann, and that you like the results.
Calm evening wishes to all.
‘Evening All’.
I had a lovely walk with a friend today then peeled off and called at daughter’s house for a couple of hours.
I texted to say ‘shall I come over?’.
“Ooh yes please I don’t know who’s more excited, me or the kids!”
She’s tired. Teacher/half term and L’il Miss coughing & high temperature (again) and up in the night. Daughter said ‘I feel like a space cadet’. So I played teasets with Playdoh food, sticker books and snakes & ladders. Mummy put her feet up.
I enjoyed myself anyway.
Fabulous crafting Baggs
I have been to the gym, went for coffee afterwards with pals and it was warm enjoying to sit outside.
Cottage pie for dinner, topped with crispy leeks and cheese.
Baggs, that is awesome. Other people's crafting always enthuses me to go back to my own stuff, then unfortunately, it wanes again. ?
GrannySomerset, I hope your appointment was helpful andyou have managed to get some relief.
Baggs Another artistic triumph. Wow!
GrannySomerset You have my sympathy.
I have completed two pet portraits today. The packing takes an absolute age. However, when I go into Campbeltown tomorrow (for a much needed hair styling session), they will be posted.
When I return home, I shall hopefully be feeling uplifted. Today has been a tough one. We all have them.
My very best wishes to you all. Please continue to take very good care of yourselves.

Good afternoon from sunny Hastings, we are away for a couple of days, DD and GC’s are on a mobile home site down the road, we’re in an hotel on the front.
annsixty we had ours done last week, l.room being done as I speak, decorator arrived at 8am!
GrannyS hopefully your back is easing, an out of sorts back is bad enough at the best of times ?.
So clever Baggs sigh…I’m just not destined to craft in any shape or form.
Catch up later all x
Hope you are feeling better grannyS.
I remember your Temaris (is that the plural) from way back baggs. They are gorgeous.
Hope the decorators find no problems and are gone quickly, ann, and you just have a lovely smart hall by the end of the week.
We are having our bedroom done next - that will be really disruptive as we have loads of small beams and one huge one in the middle of the room and they need a completely empty room to do it properly. Hopefully they won't want to start till after Christmas. And, hopefully, the carpet fitters can do a similar time or we could need physios ourselves.
That is stunning Baggs. My own Temari efforts are embarrassing when I see your work. The time and effort required for this piece - respect.
A mix of sunny blue skies and grey skies here but it is dry and I am tidying up the autumn leaves with my new toy, a leaf blower. No more achy body raking leaves, similarly, I finally gave in and bought a hedge trimmer which saves more aches plus, I now have to pace myself with a couple of coffee breaks, no great hardship then. ?
Although we need some decorating done here ann the thought of disruption is holding me back but the memory of being so pleased once all the work was done will make me bite the bullet and organise a decorator. Hope all goes well with every step nearer to completion you will see it was all worth it.
I hope your physio visit proves to find you free from pain GrannyS. I can empathise with the ongoing back pain as I suffered a particularly nasty spinal fracture and nerve damage caused by an accident. I have a wonderful sports physio who is an absolute god send whenever he works his magic on my back and hip. Good luck. ?
ann, hope all goes smoothly with the decorators. Will be lovely when it’s done.
Physio appointment at 12.20 and am hoping for advice that doesn’t include not moving for a week. Took me an hour to get DH up and ready for the days, nearly twice as long as usual. Good thing we weren’t in a hurry.
Baggs* that is seriously impressive. I love the colours. ann I do hope they finish before we are in another lockdown.
The sun is out but there is not much heat.
TOYA
Good morning all.
I am so happy to say my decorators have turned up and are “on the job”
Three to four days seems to be the estimate if it goes according to plan.
Grannysomerset a bad back is the last thing you need, I hope the physio can see you today and can help.
I have been through all that you are going through and my heart goes out to you.
You have to know to to truly understand.
Kindest thoughts to everyone else.
Good morning dear Kitcheners. I’m sorry to hear about your bad back GrannySomerset but glad that your husband is feeling much better.
Good evening Kitcheners. I've returned from Kelso with my winnings from the horse racing- all £11 worth! I've had a lovely time and been spoiled by my friends. Too much eating and drinking wine though. A new leaf is required tomorrow. Baggs that looks really colourful. Annsixty I hope you get well soon. Urmstongran that's one of my favourite films too. Javier Bardem is a seriously good villain. I'm off to empty the case and sort the washing out then an early bed for me. See you tomorrow.
Wow, baggs, that is impressive.
ann, I hope you continue to improve but do take it easy - there is a really horrid cold about.
That’s impressive Baggs
Sorry you’re been unwell ann. Look after yourself, gently does it.
That is seriously impressive Baggs!
You must have some patience as well as talent.
I’m glad you’ve had a good trip nannytopsy, I should think a day of rest was a necessity for you Jax, safe travels tomorrow. Sorry you’re not too well annsixty, I’m pleased the curtains are up but you need lots of rest and self care now
. Safe journey Brook and any other Grans traveling.
Goodnight lovely Kitcheners, Mr. B and I are going to watch YouTube and eat chocolate
Thanks Urms
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling so yucky since Tuesday ann. That’s such a long time when you’re feeling rough, I hope things improve for you soon
Oh annesixty I’m ahead of you on the snax. I’ve just eaten a packet of Hula Hoops and another of the ‘grandchildren’s’ Mars bars from the fridge. I’m loading a DVD.
‘No Country for Old Men’ with Tommy Lee Jones.
(See photo).
Another of my favs.
I need to wire my jaws together. Such a greedy guts.
?
