Help! The old kitchen door is locked. I'm wandering hither and thither like a lost soul. Has a new kitchen been opened please? I hate being this side of the door.

BladeAnnie surely that is a younger version of the handsome Duncan?

Synonymous Thu 11-Nov-21 00:20:21

Praying every blessing over you dear soop for a very positive outcome and that you will return home with joy. flowers

Sorry to have been awol again but so much has been happening and much achieved. You would be amazed at how we have been trying to live as everything happens around us. Not even anywhere to sit at present so have been ‘nesting’ in our bedroom! Builders want to be out by the end of the month so I sincerely hope that happens.
TOYA flowers

soop ? thinking of you today. Charleygirl - it was a photo taken last week ??

TillyTrotter Thu 11-Nov-21 09:32:36

I think Duncan drinks the elixir of eternal youth Charleygirl. He gets more handsome as he ages (like George Clooney) ?
soop ? ?

Urmstongran Thu 11-Nov-21 10:11:20

I imagine soop is ‘out for the count’ right now.
All the best dear lady, we are all rooting for you to be given positive news by your surgeon.

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 11-Nov-21 12:08:46

Not the same kitchen without soop but we must march on without her today. Thinking of her. Fabulous blue sky here in the Scottish Borders. Just had walk with my visiting DS. Over an hour. Gave us space to chat.
Leek and potato soup made for lunch. Probably a chilli for tea. Baked a lemon drizzle cake earlier. A bit stodgy but will be fine with yogurt...Wishing all kitcheners a peaceful Thursday.

My day hasn’t exactly gone to plan. I got a call from United Utilities telling me the water was being turned off while they fixed a fault. I’m on their ‘priority’ register. So I couldn’t put the washer on or clean the bathroom, Luckily I was already up, washed and dressed, and had my mug of tea! Something Mr. B had bought on the internet arrived, in a bashed up box. When he opened it, it had obviously been used and returned, bits were missing, so that had to be sorted and a return/ replacement arranged. I may hide under the duvet this afternoon! Mr. B has a dentist appointment at 3pm, to discuss treatment for a troublesome tooth. I hope that goes smoothly!

Hoping Soop is doing OK.

Like you say dogsmakemesmile it’s not quite the same kitchen today without our lovely hostess soop but I hope she’s doing fine. Mr soop must be worried I guess but I hope he gets some good news soon to put his mind at rest
I’m having a quiet day today after a small operation at the eye clinic yesterday, all went well though just a bit uncomfortable
Hope you’ve got the water back on now blossoming if not the kettles on here in the kitchen and it’s lovely and warm by the fireside

‘Evening All.

Our day didn’t go to plan either Blossoming. L’il Miss was apparently coughing in school all through the Remembrance service so we got a phone call from her mummy asking could we pick her up. We had no car it was in for an MOT! Anyway Grandad set off to stroll back to their house and I met them there. Mummy arranged a PCR test (it’s only a stick up the nose job now) at 4pm. We await the results.

Got home to get a phone call - the car has passed its MOT. Phew! He got the train from across the road to fetch it. Sat now with a cuppa, then will put a bit of slap on, change my top and walk round the corner to eat out, using a voucher we’d been given months ago.

Urmstongran Thu 11-Nov-21 18:00:52

We still haven’t needed to put the heating on here yet ...
?

Good evening dear kitcheners - a quick hello from me before I get into pressie wrapping mode ⛄?!! Mr BA's son is visiting over the weekend - he lives a 5 hour drive away and is working over Christmas helping to keep our good old NHS going ?. So we won't see him again until next year - seem strange saying that doesn't it?? Tilly I think Duncan rather likes being compared to the handsome Mr Clooney ?. Another worry Urmstongran hope the test is negative ?. Thinking of soop and hoping all is well. Enjoy the rest of Thursday and I'll get back to the wrapping paper!!

Susan56 Thu 11-Nov-21 18:22:09

Just popping in to send good wishes to soop and hoping she gets a positive report from the surgeon.

Urms, what a worry.Hoping L’il Miss gets a negative test??

Blossoming Thu 11-Nov-21 19:05:59

Had a call from my GP this afternoon. My blood sugar levels are elevated. I’m not diabetic but he is referring me to the diabetes prevention programme as neither of us wants me to become diabetic either! They will give advice about diet, exercise, etc. and arrange monitoring tests. I’m ashamed to admit I need to lose weight and give up the cake habit! I know I eat too many carbs, and can’t keep blaming lockdown and Covid! Today has really not been the best. I don’t need any new diseases. TOYA

Jaxjacky Thu 11-Nov-21 19:12:26

Oh Blossoming hopefully tomorrow it won’t feel so daunting.

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 11-Nov-21 19:21:59

Sorry to hear that Blossoming. Thankfully the issue has been picked up early. I will give up the cake habit with you if any use. In my case it's digestives shared with DDog. The programme you have been referred to sounds very positive.

Dogsmakemesmile Thu 11-Nov-21 19:33:59

I keep being called away. Urms have fingers crossed for negative result.

Blossoming Thu 11-Nov-21 19:34:34

Thank you Jax and Dogs. It’s not the worst news, it’s just been a trying day all round and I’m so tired. Early night for me.

brook2704 Thu 11-Nov-21 20:30:18

Hoping L’il Miss test is negative Urms and she’s feeling much better soon
Blissoming I hope you have a better day tomorrow, try not to worry ?

Urmstongran Thu 11-Nov-21 22:14:52

Blossoming I had exactly the same call from my GP three weeks ago and I’m signing up for classes too.

Thanks for your supportive messages about L’il Miss who is apparently coughing +++ in her sleep, bless. I think it’s going to be a long night for mum. What can you do?
