Stressful and annoying Marydoll.

Marydoll Fri 22-Oct-21 11:30:57

Urms, I did enjoy the thread!
It's just road resurfacing, nothing to do with Copfest. I couldn't even get out at the end of my road. I'm curious as to how they have suddenly found the finance. No matter, which way I took, there were road works.
Moan over!

Good morning,

It’s starting to brighten up after a damp, cold start. When I got up my plan was to wash the bedding, but it can wait until a drier day, I think. No point hanging it outside to dry as it just won’t, so it can wait a bit longer.

Happy anniversary for tomorrow , Nankate and your DH ??.
Sorry to read that your DH is still in hospital, Greyduster. I hope they let him come home soon.

How disappointing, Kitty. Will you be able to freeze some of the foodstuffs for another time? Let’s hope it won’t be too long before your family can visit.

Enjoy your time with your sister, Mick.

Another day of “not a lot planned” other than the usual jobs and admin. Think I’ll settle down with my book later. It’s another Val McDermid book. I find her stories engrossing and get quite lost in them! ?

Take care everyone and thoughts to all of you with worries and difficulties ?.

AGAA4: I missed the news about your fall, I hope you aren’t injured x

AGAA4 Fri 22-Oct-21 10:58:20

Good morning from sunny North Wales. I am still recovering from the fall on Monday so not doing much again today.
Happy Anniversary to Nankate and her DH ?.
Thoughts with those GNs who are not feeling good today.

EkwaNimitee Fri 22-Oct-21 10:30:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. Nice to know you have a sister visiting, Mick.
I'm a bit frayed after a disturbed night. I woke around 1.30am feeling deeply cold and the bedroom was the usual temperature. Totally unable to get back to sleep, after an hour I gave in and got up to don pyjamas, turn up the heating and throw the extra layer of the duvet over the bed. Then I got to sleep but woke at 6am,too hot and sweaty to get back to sleep again! I have a very narrow range of comfortable operating temperatures.
Today the ironing is done and it's on to the endless admin and hopefully gardening after lunch. It's looking like I may have my border dug out and prepared before my soft fruit bushes arrive.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and thinking of harrigran

Jaxjacky Fri 22-Oct-21 10:29:48

Happy Anniversary to the NanKates a mega milestone, enjoy all of your celebrations ?❤️.
Very disappointing kitty, so much anticipation ?.
Good news, a clear result hollysteers, bet that’s bucked up and I’m pleased your bed is coming GSomerset.

Auntieflo Fri 22-Oct-21 09:56:29

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It is dry, but dull here, and I have no idea what the forecast is, but hope the rain stays away.
I am due a Vit B12 injection this afternoon, and tried to ask 'Alexa' to set an alarm, but she is not listening. Something for DH to sort out later.
Nice to hear of you laughing and having a happy time at your class GrandMattie.
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs NanKate this weekend.
Nothing exciting to report from AuntieFlo towers.
Oh, DH has fixed Alexa. Evidently her mic had been turned off!
Have a good day one and all.

Urmstongran Fri 22-Oct-21 09:51:50

X posts you must be shattered GrannySomerset and churned up about your husband’s perception of events. ?

Urmstongran Fri 22-Oct-21 09:47:21

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp after rain during the night (best time - it can rain all it likes between midnight and 7am!). Seems chillier too.

The Boy Wonder & L’il Miss break up from school this afternoon for their half term week. I have a routine dental check up at noon.

Himself has booked us flights over to Malaga on 3 January and I’m ridiculously excited! This year I fancy going out every other month rather than long stretches there necessitating long stretches here. Will see how that plan works out!

Weekend congratulations to you and your husband NanKate! Take your time Marydoll navigating through Glasgow - it’ll be road closures in preparation of COPfest!
??? that thread was so funny yesterday wasn’t it? Such a disappointment about your plans kitty - you’ll both have to increase your portion sizes for a while. Seriously though, I bet you’re both feeling a bit down. Soon I hope?

Enjoy Friday all who can.

Good morning from sunny North Wales.

We arrived at 8.30 to take DGD to school and she was still in her pj’s.Between me, grandpa and son in law we got her ready and we were out of the house by 8.40.I will spend the day doing laundry as our washing machine is broken.Roll on Monday when the new one is delivered.School pick up at 3 and straight to a Halloween party.DD has very kindly offered my services to help with the event so Grandpa will have charge of the children.

Congratulations to NanKate and husband on your Golden wedding anniversary??

Good news on the clear mammogram hollysteers?

Thinking of harrigran and all with worries and struggles??

Glad that the hospital bed is arriving today and you have a family visit later GrannySomerset. Hope Mr. GS settles down later. flowers

Good morning Mick and all from cold, sunny Lancashire. Sounds like a good day ahead Mick, how lovely to have a visitor. I’m drinking my morning tea in bed, it’s getting to be a habit. It’s windy outside, not giving me any incentive to move! Off to the hairdresser this afternoon, and rain is forecast so will need the big coat. Keeping my fingers crossed for your son’s visit GradMattie

Have the best day possible all, keep safe and warm.

GrannySomerset Fri 22-Oct-21 09:24:30

Awaiting a friend to help me dismantle DH’s bed to make way for a hospital bed being delivered today. He is convinced this means he is dying and had me up at 2.00, 4.30 and 6.30 am because he was so worried. The fact that it is to help my back cuts no ice at all. Happily DD and lovely husband arrive this evening for a short visit so he has something to look forward to. Could it be the antibiotics playing tricks with an already disordered mind?

Have a good day, GMers.

aggie Fri 22-Oct-21 08:47:07

Good morning everyone, there is a rosy light from the sun struggling through the clouds .
I should have been at art class on Fridays but didn’t join this year , I just heard last night that it was cancelled last week due to our lovely tutor having tested positive for Covid ! I hope she is ok , now heard this morning it is cancelled till after Christmas .
Hope GrannySomerset has had the hospital bed delivered and assembled
Thoughts and prayers for those sad and poorly Grans

Good morning. DGS (5 yrs.) slept over last night and has just devoured a good breakfast.
He has plans to paint a robot once he is dressed.
The weather looks promising so hopefully we can get out to a park later and have lunch in a cafe. Will take him home late afternoon.
Dinner out for us this evening.
Mick enjoy your weekend with your sister.
Congratulations to those celebrating and love to all with troubles of any kind. Wishing for a smile for you all.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

NannyJan53 Fri 22-Oct-21 08:33:53

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Had a lovely video call with DB, SIL and Mum with Niece for her 30th birthday in Brisbane. She had a lovely day, even though she was working from home. Housemates made her breakfast, and was taken out for a meal. It was 8pm there when we spoke to her. She has a weekend of partying planned.

No plans today except to pack and be ready for our trip away tomorrow. Ironing beckons.

Happy Golden Anniversary Mr & Mrs NanKate I hope you have a lovely weekend celebrating.

Enjoy your weekend with your sister Mick

Such a disappointment kitty but I think they are being careful with reason. I was with my DGD's at the weekend. 10 year old was positive on Tuesday, so I, Mum and DD and SIL and 13 year old DGD had to have PCR tests. Luckily we were all negative, but it was a worry for a couple of days. Mums results are yet to arrive, as she did it at home.

harrigran is in my thoughts flowers

Good morning, all, from a fine Torbay as we enjoy a beautiful sunrise whilst drinking TIB.

Congratulations to NanKate; lovely plans, especially renewing your vows. Enjoy every moment! ???

Let’s keep hoping for a visit from your DS1 at Christmas, grandMattie. ?

Commiserations to Jaxjacky; how frustrating for your DD. Also thoughts with Greyduster with your DH still in hospital. That’s very disappointing for you kittylester but hope you can see the family before too long.

I hope you enjoy the theatre visit, Sar53. My DD2 and DGD are booked to see that show at half term. Good news regarding your mammogram result, hollysteers! That’s a relief!

We are both due at the optician this morning for check ups then we’re going to see The Ghost Train tonight, being performed locally and including some friends from our Toads Theatre Company.

With special thoughts of harrigran.

Wishing you all well and a happy weekend. ?????

cornergran Fri 22-Oct-21 08:19:31

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey and very windy sums up our corner of Somerset. Disappointing after yesterday’s sunny day.

A different weekend ahead for you mick, enjoy your sisters company. That’s disappointing kitty. I’m sorry your husband is still in hospital greyd, I’m sure he was pleased to see you. All the best for your anniversary weekend nanKate, a wonderful way to celebrate. Hope that telephone consultation comes soon jax. More than annoying. Fingers crossed for your son grandMattie, hope he can travel. You’re in my thoughts harri.

Thinking of everyone with worries or sadness. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Happy Anniversary NanKate to you and your DH.

Dark and dismal here in Cheshire.

Good morning everyone from a chilly but dry Northampton. Woke up at 6am, but turned over and had another hour!

Was really busy yesterday morning getting lots of little jobs done around the house, then after lunch went to my ballet class - 4 new people there yesterday. It is a really good workout for body and mind, and great fun as none of us can ever remember a long sequence of steps! Afterwards I met a friend for coffee.

Have now reverted to my previous routine on Fridays- a visit by bus to our little nearby retail park for coffee and a mooch around the shops, so shall look forward to that.

Then tonight it's Friday night under the lights as I attend a home rugby match, and will meet DD and DS-in-law there. It is on tv tonight, so shall record it and watch again (if we win....) Shall wear my team shirt, now where are my lucky socks?

Thinking of harrigran today. flowersflowers

hollysteers Fri 22-Oct-21 08:08:43

Good morning Mick and all from Windy Way Lancashire coast.
Art group this morning followed by practice with my ‘band’ for Xmas and other entertainments. A busy day.
Very pleased with clear mammogram which had been brought forward due to my concerns and thanks to Sue56 for good wishes.
Hope you enjoy your sister’s visit Mick and thoughts to harrigran ?

brook2704 Fri 22-Oct-21 08:08:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cold start to the day with just a little cloud. Yesterday we saw the first snow on the mountain tops in the distance - winters not far away
A very Happy Anniversary for tomorrow NanKate enjoy your celebrations this weekend ???
I’m looking forward to looking after the DGC today, it’s the last day of half term before they return to school on Monday.
Enjoy your time with your sister Mick how lovely that she’s coming to visit.
What a shame Kitty that your family visit is postponed, but I guess it’s for the right reasons. I hope it can be rearranged soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
