Good morning Mick and all from a chilly S Hants @ 3deg.
Have a lovely weekend Mick with your sister.
Restless night for me, unusual and I was very tired, maybe as my Mum used to say, ‘overtired’.
Imogen’s consultation was disappointing, her brain scan, EEG, had not been sent to the consultant beforehand, even though DD had specifically stated the date and was assured it would be there. A ‘phone consultation will follow, when it turns up.
I had three convoluted drives yesterday and was whacked out by the evening, but none today, just admin and Tesco delivery.
Hope you have a date for the bed GrannySomerset.
Thoughts with harrigran in her sorrow.

Good morning Mick and all from a chilly Glasgow.
That's lovely news about your sister's visit Mick.

Happy golden wedding anniversary to NanKate. I hope you and your husband have a lovely day! ????

I have fairly busy day, not feeling the best, but I need to go and collect my prescriptions, negotiating several sets of road works and a main road closure. There seem to be roadworks everywhere at the moment.

Thinking of Harri at this sad time. ?

Wishing you all the best possible of days.

grandMattie Fri 22-Oct-21 06:46:40

Good morning from a clear moonlit E Kent. No idea of the temperature, but I suspect it is in the vicinity of 6 deg.
I too had had a restless night, don’t really know why.
Today, I’m out to lunch in Deal with one of my tai chi friends. It’ll be a nice change to get back to normal. My lovely Spanish teacher commented yesterday that I was laughing a lot - well, I’ve retaken my place as the class clown. So all is returning to normal.
Spoke to DS1 in India yesterday. He’s hoping to come home for Christmas if things stay the same, but I’m not holding my breath in view of the CV19 numbers etc…
Holding harrigran to my heart ❤️, and hoping that the rest of you are staying ok. Carpe diem. ?????☀️

grandMattie Fri 22-Oct-21 06:48:43

Happy visit from your sister, Mick.
Congratulations you and DH, NanKate. Have wonderful celebrations! ????

kittylester Fri 22-Oct-21 06:49:34

Good morning all from a still dark and quite cold North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely day yesterday having lunch at a small hotel in the next village. The food was delicious and we came home and watched TV all afternoon.

The day was somewhat ruined by a whatsapp from DD2. She and her family were to come and stay for half term but she feels that there is too much chance of them bringing covid with them so their visit is cancelled. We are so disappointed, as they are.

It does make me feel old and feeble that they have to worry about us. And I have loads of food in!!!

Love to harri who puts my moans into perspective.

Sar53 Fri 22-Oct-21 06:56:50

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is cold and dark.
DH will spend the day working on his boat, I have a pile of ironing to get on with, then I need to pack for my weekend away at DD2.
DD2, DGD1 and I are going to see the musical SIX on Saturday.
I too am thinking of Harri flowers.
Have a lovely Friday everyone xx

NanKate Fri 22-Oct-21 07:12:53

Good morning Mick and All.

Thank you Marydoll the actual day is tomorrow 23rd but we are off today to start the Golden Wedding celebrations. Old friends who were with us all those years ago will come to the hotel in Stratford upon Avon, where I used to live, for lunch tomorrow. On Sunday we are going back to the church we married in (where Shakespeare is buried) to Renew our Vows. I’m bound to cry! We will be with the family next week to celebrate with them.

I count myself as very lucky to have reached this milestone having read the very sad news about Harrigran’s husband. ?It makes me realise how we need to value what we have whilst we have it.

Finally so sorry to hear Kitty about the cancellation of the family visit. Covid has a lot to answer for.

Greyduster Fri 22-Oct-21 07:13:42

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dark damp South Yorkshire. I am up early this morning as I am going home for the day so SiL will drop me off on his way to work. I have my COVID booster today at a local site also. DH is still in hospital. I visited him yesterday and it all seemed noisy and chaotic. I wanted to smuggle him out under my coat! DD has just gone for a run with a friend. In the dark and the wet! Mad, the pair of them!?.
Happy 50th Mr and Mrs NanKate - quite a milestone! Have a lovely day.???

GrannyGravy13 Fri 22-Oct-21 07:21:21

Morning Mick and all

How lovely Mick to have your sister with you this weekend. Sar53 enjoy your time at DD’s. Oh dear kittylester how disappointing.

We have The Imp, no real plans for the day but looking forward to meeting our friends for dinner this evening (nice Italian looking out over the sea).

Thinking of our morning friends with challenges ahead.keep

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Beechnut Fri 22-Oct-21 07:32:01

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s just getting light as I have my breakfast and first cuppa.

Sending my good wishes to Mr&MrsNanKate for your golden wedding anniversary and weekend celebrations.

Off to do my weekly shop soon and hope to do some crafting later.

Take care all and have a nice time with your sister Mick ?

Grammaretto Fri 22-Oct-21 07:42:18

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is still dark but less cold than yesterday.
The scaffolding next door is coming down! It's been over a year since it went up and my garden below it has struggled to survive.
Congratulations to NanKate and DH on achieving 50years.
?✨?
I hope your DS manages to come for Christmas gMattie wouldn't that be wonderful.

I have been invited to DS1's for the festivities which I appreciate and perhaps by next year I will be able to host again.

Yoga this morning and later I'm going into town to see an art exhibition.

Have a nice time with your sister Mick
I am sorry about your disappointment kitty and Greyduster I sympathise. This time last year we did exactly that ie smuggled DH out of hospital.
Thinking of Harrigran

dragonfly46 Fri 22-Oct-21 07:53:59

Good morning from a dull windy Leicestershire.

Nordic Walking this morning as my DH’s Covid test was negative. It is just the dreadful cold which is going around and I seem to have missed.

Sorry your DH is still in hospital Greyduster and that is a disappointment kitty.
Congratulations on your Golden Wedding tomorrow NanKate.
Sending warm enveloping hugs to Harrigran.

baubles Fri 22-Oct-21 07:59:52

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Congratulations to the Nankates, have a wonderful weekend celebrating.

It would be marvellous if your DS manages to get to you for Christmas Mattie, fingers crossed.

I’m sorry for your disappointment kitty Enjoy your weekends Sar and Mick.

How annoying and disappointing Jaxjacky.

greyduster flowers

Thinking of harri.

DS’s little one wasn’t at all well yesterday, she seems to have had one bad cold after another for months now, poor lamb. DS messaged me last night to say that she was asleep and that ‘having children is a constant worry’. Yep.

Charity shop today then minding DD’s gang this evening.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Pittcity Fri 22-Oct-21 08:02:06

Good morning from a bright cold Colchester. There is rain in the forecast but the sun is out at the moment.
Laundry mountain to scale and weekend shop today.
Love to all ?x

Gingster Fri 22-Oct-21 08:07:00

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk coast. The sunrise over the sea was spectacular. I won’t send the pic as it doesn’t do it justice.

Last evening we had our book club meet-up. A nice bunch of ladies and a jolly gent. It’s a very relaxed group and we chat a lot about different things before we get to the matter in hand. Wine and cakes on offer too. ?. So unlike my other book club back in Essex where it’s quite serious with the other ladies being well educated academics. I always feel a bit dim but I think it stretches me and makes me look deeper into the literary world ??. Just a glass of water with this lot. ???.

Mick enjoy your weekend with your sister.
GM so glad you’ve found your inner clown. ?
Nankate happy golden wedding. ??
Sar enjoy your time with your girls. Let us know how the musical went.
Kittlester how disappointing for you. They are only thinking of your best interests. ❤️

Harrigran keep strong and look after yourself at this sad time ?.

Wishing you all a ‘Good Day’ ????

brook2704 Fri 22-Oct-21 08:08:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cold start to the day with just a little cloud. Yesterday we saw the first snow on the mountain tops in the distance - winters not far away
A very Happy Anniversary for tomorrow NanKate enjoy your celebrations this weekend ???
I’m looking forward to looking after the DGC today, it’s the last day of half term before they return to school on Monday.
Enjoy your time with your sister Mick how lovely that she’s coming to visit.
What a shame Kitty that your family visit is postponed, but I guess it’s for the right reasons. I hope it can be rearranged soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

hollysteers Fri 22-Oct-21 08:08:43

Good morning Mick and all from Windy Way Lancashire coast.
Art group this morning followed by practice with my ‘band’ for Xmas and other entertainments. A busy day.
Very pleased with clear mammogram which had been brought forward due to my concerns and thanks to Sue56 for good wishes.
Hope you enjoy your sister’s visit Mick and thoughts to harrigran ?

BlueSapphire Fri 22-Oct-21 08:09:09

Good morning everyone from a chilly but dry Northampton. Woke up at 6am, but turned over and had another hour!

Was really busy yesterday morning getting lots of little jobs done around the house, then after lunch went to my ballet class - 4 new people there yesterday. It is a really good workout for body and mind, and great fun as none of us can ever remember a long sequence of steps! Afterwards I met a friend for coffee.

Have now reverted to my previous routine on Fridays- a visit by bus to our little nearby retail park for coffee and a mooch around the shops, so shall look forward to that.

Then tonight it's Friday night under the lights as I attend a home rugby match, and will meet DD and DS-in-law there. It is on tv tonight, so shall record it and watch again (if we win....) Shall wear my team shirt, now where are my lucky socks?

Thinking of harrigran today. flowersflowers

Grandmajean Fri 22-Oct-21 08:17:26

Happy Anniversary NanKate to you and your DH.
Thinking of harrigran
Dark and dismal here in Cheshire.

cornergran Fri 22-Oct-21 08:19:31

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey and very windy sums up our corner of Somerset. Disappointing after yesterday’s sunny day.

A different weekend ahead for you mick, enjoy your sisters company. That’s disappointing kitty. I’m sorry your husband is still in hospital greyd, I’m sure he was pleased to see you. All the best for your anniversary weekend nanKate, a wonderful way to celebrate. Hope that telephone consultation comes soon jax. More than annoying. Fingers crossed for your son grandMattie, hope he can travel. You’re in my thoughts harri.

Thinking of everyone with worries or sadness. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Ashcombe Fri 22-Oct-21 08:25:28

Good morning, all, from a fine Torbay as we enjoy a beautiful sunrise whilst drinking TIB.

Congratulations to NanKate; lovely plans, especially renewing your vows. Enjoy every moment! ???

Let’s keep hoping for a visit from your DS1 at Christmas, grandMattie. ?

Commiserations to Jaxjacky; how frustrating for your DD. Also thoughts with Greyduster with your DH still in hospital. That’s very disappointing for you kittylester but hope you can see the family before too long.

I hope you enjoy the theatre visit, Sar53. My DD2 and DGD are booked to see that show at half term. Good news regarding your mammogram result, hollysteers! That’s a relief!

We are both due at the optician this morning for check ups then we’re going to see The Ghost Train tonight, being performed locally and including some friends from our Toads Theatre Company.

With special thoughts of harrigran.

Wishing you all well and a happy weekend. ?????

NannyJan53 Fri 22-Oct-21 08:33:53

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Had a lovely video call with DB, SIL and Mum with Niece for her 30th birthday in Brisbane. She had a lovely day, even though she was working from home. Housemates made her breakfast, and was taken out for a meal. It was 8pm there when we spoke to her. She has a weekend of partying planned.

No plans today except to pack and be ready for our trip away tomorrow. Ironing beckons.

Happy Golden Anniversary Mr & Mrs NanKate I hope you have a lovely weekend celebrating.

Enjoy your weekend with your sister Mick

Such a disappointment kitty but I think they are being careful with reason. I was with my DGD's at the weekend. 10 year old was positive on Tuesday, so I, Mum and DD and SIL and 13 year old DGD had to have PCR tests. Luckily we were all negative, but it was a worry for a couple of days. Mums results are yet to arrive, as she did it at home.

harrigran is in my thoughts flowers

Anniebach Fri 22-Oct-21 08:40:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

ginny Fri 22-Oct-21 08:40:36

Good morning. DGS (5 yrs.) slept over last night and has just devoured a good breakfast.
He has plans to paint a robot once he is dressed.
The weather looks promising so hopefully we can get out to a park later and have lunch in a cafe. Will take him home late afternoon.
Dinner out for us this evening.
Mick enjoy your weekend with your sister.
Congratulations to those celebrating and love to all with troubles of any kind. Wishing for a smile for you all.
