Good morning from a dry NE.
Busy day yesterday, lots of phone calls while I was doing the washing. One call in particular was very welcome, it was to tell me I could pop to the local Chemist and have my flu vaccination which I did.
DD worked all day from the music room which has been turned into a second office while SIL took me for the jab and we did some shopping.
DS and family are coming this evening, they are going to cook dinner and keep me company while DD has a break.
Those out and about, enjoy.

Good Morning Thursday 28th October 2021
(46 Posts)Good morning Mick and all from a showery Glasgow.
Baubles, please take care if you are visiting, where I think you are going. DD popped in last night and I started to panic, when she didn't text to say she was safely home. Then her husband's messaged to say that she was stuck in a flood and couldn't get home. The roads were awful here last night.
Our Internet went up and down all day yesterday, which made scanning and sending my admin documents very problematic.
After a very worrying phone call, related to my volunteer work, I went back to find my PC had frozen due to an outage and myself locked out of my email account on all my devices.
It took me a very frustrating two hours to partially resolve things. DH insisted on trying to help, as he is the primary account holder, but he hasn't a clue. I hate Virgin Media!!!
The system even told me, I had got my mother's maiden name wrong!!!! ? How do people who are not IT literate deal with things? Anyway, enough of my ranting, there are worse things happening in other's lives.
Today will be spent, catching up with what wasn't done yesterday. I'm still feeling pretty under the weather, needed extra heart meds yesterday, even before the Virgin fiasco (which upsets DH, as he quietly worries), so a day at home is what I need.
Its lovely to read of so many of our granspals, (Soop's term ) out and about enjoying themselves.
Ash and OldD, have a lovely time. I'm quite envious. Dollie has started ballet lessons and it appears her teacher is an actress in a Scottish soap opera!
Grammaretto, you are such a compulsive buyer! ? It will be worth the wait. The replacement knob has broken on my range again, trying to get it repaired, is nigh on impossible!
Special hugs for Kitty, Harri and GSomerset.
Enjoy your day whatever your plans.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another mild, dry day.
Thursday is my this and that day. Bedding is in the machine and will be hung out to dry, hooray!
A quick supermarket shop as it's half term and everywhere is crowded with families.
Might do a bit more decorating this afternoon and then again might not. No pressure until DH is home wanting his tea.
Jay's online pub quiz with family tonight.
Love to all x
Good morning everyone from a still dark North Wales.
I will be packing this morning for my trip to my daughter's. She is still not at all well and her husband has to be away for the weekend so I will be there.
Blood tests this afternoon to "see what's going on inside" my doctor said.
I wish a good day to all and thoughts with those who are not having a good time today.
Good morning all. It’s mild and dry in East Yorkshire.
We made it to Whitby yesterday. I felt a bit uncomfortable there as it was heaving. Dgs was delighted with the pirate ship and enjoyed himself despite being sick at breakfast. I did get my crab. Bought some from a wet fish shop and had some when I got home. Delicious!
The journey home was eventful. DH missed the turning for Pickering and nowhere to turn around for a long way so we ended coming back a different way which seemed to take forever. Then the little one was sick again. He had been fine since the episode after breakfast - hadn’t eaten a lot just a small sandwich at lunch. Before we left he did have an ice cream which I think was the culprit but how do you refuse them when they see them?
Today I will have a quiet day and recover !
Enjoy the ballet Ashcombe and Olddudders it will feel very special after all the wait.
Take care all.
Good morning mick and all who follow from a dull, windy and not quite light yet Oxfordshire, mrOops has a breakfast ‘meeting’ this morning and I have an early shopping delivery, the this afternoon MrOops has his booster shot at a nearby Stadium, apart from that it’s another day indoors.
Nice to hear that other posters are having trips out.
Have a good day everyone and for those battling with cares and worries a virtual hug.special hugs for granmattie and Harrie have a good day tomorrow ash .
Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants, good service for your blinds Mick.
Enjoy the ballet Ashcombe & oldudders, magical.
No mega plans today, washing, cleaning, a fiddle with my shopping list online for delivery tomorrow when the GC’s are staying over.
Have a pleasant day all. ??
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s only just getting light and it’s 7:40am now! I wonder what it would be like if we didn’t put the clocks back this weekend? I think it was tried as an experiment in the 1960’s (?)
We are out to lunch with my stepfather today. He said ‘your turn to choose’ where we go. I said ‘no, your our social secretary you let us know when we pick you up’. That way, at his advanced age he gets to go the places he’d like to re-visit. I bet it’s one in Worsley or one here, round the corner in Urmston. Let’s see eh?
Good luck Beechnut getting those results. Poor you baubles this one sounds a stinker bet you’d rather go back to bed with a box of tissues than childmind. Enjoy Cardiff and the rugby this weekend Sar53 wrap up well. Congratulations on your sixth (iron, apparently) wedding anniversary Ashcombe and OD!
Morning Mick, Morning All. A dry start to our corner of Somerset, rain forecast later.
It feels an autopilot day today, sleep is a rarity. No need to be rushing around so I won’t
.
Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.
Morning Mick and all
Having problems posting today, have a lovely pre-anniversary celebration Ashcombe , safe journey tomorrow Sar53
I have ironing to do today, and then chase/find two lost parcels thanks to Hermes…
Keep safe and well folks ??♀️
Good morning Mick and eveeyone from here in the lovely north. Particularly pleased that your blinds are being done on time, Mick, as much up here seems to be running later than scheduled. Great! Rather nice reports of pleasant activities going on by many of us today. Warms my heart that we are gradually slipping back into various gentle, but nonetheless exciting, types of social life. I've a promising lunch planned myself with a couple of cousins. Lovely prospect. Keep hearing reports of all sorts of tumultuous weather forecast for my area but, so far, all sounds calm from where I'm lying. Fingers crossed that continues. Hope everyone finds at least one high spot today and recognises it.?
Good morningMick and all from the Scottish Borders where it has been raining for hours. I've brought my tea back to bed.
Well done getting the windows measured for blinds. I keep meaning to do that
I have chosen a new cooker. It's only taken 6 months since my old Rayburn was condemned ?
Happy AnniversaryAsh and OldD
Good morning from Essex by the sea.
Not much happening here today apart from packing for our weekend away in Cardiff. We are going to watch Wales play New Zealand at Rugby. We are planning to leave very early tomorrow morning to try and miss the heavy traffic on the M25.
Have a lovely Thursday everyone xx
Good morning Mick, morning all from dark and dismal South Lanarkshire.
The cold which has been brewing for a couple of days has developed into a real stinker so I’m feeling rough. Childminding day for us and the forecast is for heavy downpours which will make the drive unpleasant. Ho hum, I’m a joy to be with this morning
.
Enjoy the ballet Ashcombe, I’m quite envious, haven’t been in such a long time.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day as always. ??
Good morning from a dark North Leicestershire where it sounds quite windy.
Ironing this morning while dh as his hair cut and then we are going next door for drinks.
Enjoy your days everyone. Love to harri.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s dark and dry. I can see a star twinkling.
I’m going for my blood test results today and to buy a Christmas magazine.
Back home to bed changing and the laundry to follow.
Have a good day all and enjoy your celebration Ashanddudds ??
Have a wonderful time Ashcombe and oldDudders. ???
Good morning Mick grandMattie and All.
I really do hate the encroaching darkness at this time of year. I wish I could hibernate.
Off to our DS’s home today. He is still in Iceland but returns tomorrow and so do our DGSs who have been to Centre Parks. A lot of catching up to do.
We received yesterday a lovely belated gift for our GW last weekend. A full Cream Tea with sandwiches, cakes, scones, the works. We ate a third of it last night, will take a third with us today and finish the scones , jam and cream when we return home on Sunday.
Good morning, all, from a breezy Torbay.
Today we’re going to the ballet at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth which we haven’t done together for about two years because DH was stuck in France. We’ve booked lunch in a lovely restaurant I’ve frequented before where they understand about serving lunch in time for patrons to attend matinee performances. An early celebration of our sixth welding (sic) anniversary, which is tomorrow. ???
Have a good day, everyone! ?????
Good morning from an as yet dark .e Kent.
Apart from a haircut at 0930, I have an empty today. I think I’ll carry on with the fur tree appliqué table runner I started at my craft group up yesterday. It was such a shame as, before lockdown, we were about 14. Yesterday we were 3 again, again. It doesn’t really seem worth hiring a Hall etc., just for us.
We managed to get booster appointments. It was ridiculous as DH wanted to go on Tuesday afternoon, I preferred another day. He kept on saying that we’d do what I wanted then found a myriad excuse not to go on the days and times of my choice! Grrr.
Carpe diem. Hope today gives you some relief from sorrow, pain or anxiety. Catch a passing ?. ????????
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, dry and windy here in Brackley this morning.
Got my kitchen window fittings taken for the blinds as done on time stated, fitting 2 weeks today.
Usual trip to Bicester later for an hour or so , otherwise will stay in.
Take Care,
Mick
