Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark, but its dry and less windy here in Brackley this morning.
Plans for the day is bus to Buckingham and then Bicester , and returning home via Buckingham, hopefully the flea market will be in full swing, weather permitting stallholders.
And when I get home relax with TV , and make sure I put my clock and watch back an hour before I retire for the night.
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon (just) everyone here. I hope you will allow me to join you as I have been following this thread all week and love the reports of activities and the general banter.
I hope it will be a day of two halves here in North Notts. This morning the sky got darker and darker and then we had about an hour of torrential rain. I did what I usually do when staying in the house is necessary and did some baking. I made soda bread which we will have for lunch with home made soup and also some beetroot brownies, which are still cooling. This is a recipe I've not tried before but I had some of the ingredients in the store cupboard that needed using up and also some cooked beetroot in the fridge. DH has a very sweet tooth so this should go down well. The sun is now out so this, I hope, will be the better second half of the day.
It is our Golden Wedding anniversary today and we were supposed to be away with 15 members of the family (including 5 GC) in a house we booked some months ago. Unfortunately three of the families involved got Covid, so we are all still at home. DH has booked the two of us into a local restaurant tonight, so at least we will be doing something to mark the occasion.

Hedgehogs are meatballs made with rice in them, so that when they are cooked the individual grains of rice stick out like hedghogs' spines. My DC loved them and they were a favourite tea in our house.

"Hedgehog" when I was a child, was meat loaf baked in the overn. My mother shaped it to resemble a hedgehog and stuck carrot sticks into it as its spines.

I was royally outed Kitty.

PollyTickle Sat 30-Oct-21 11:56:17

There are distant cousins, twins, both called Iden. No point in individual names as no one can tell the difference

kittylester Sat 30-Oct-21 11:54:29

I had worked you out polly but thought you might not want to know anyone had spotted you.

PollyTickle Sat 30-Oct-21 11:53:48

Ooh Susan, you are naughty. Wish I’d thought of that one.
Could be a sleazy old uncle.

All Ticklesgrin and I’ve only just made the connection.

Good morning from a very wet Algarve. The wind has been howling round the house and DH who was determined to stay in shorts until at least November went off to the early morning market but was back before he reached the car to change into long trousers. The rain is forecast for another four days by which time we will be used to warmer clothes I think.
