I have told this story before on here:
I had been visiting my sister-in-law and as I prepared to leave I went to where I had left my reading glasses - on the lounge window sill. But they weren't there. We searched around looking for them and much later I glanced at the window sill and there they were!

That sounds a bit spooky, grandetante.
Hope you are feeling ok today, littleflo.

The spring from my burger maker went ping last week, and could we find it? Swept the floor, shook our clothes out, checked not caught in the dog’s coat! Gave up, sat down and there now at eye level wrapped round the drawer handle was the spring.

I do hope both your head and your tail aren't hurting too much today.

Please do get that floor repaired. We are getting too old for that kind of "trip"!

I lost my paring knife the summer before last. It disappeared completely between the kitchen table where I had been using it and the sink. I could not find it when I went to wash up.

To cut a long story short - I searched the entire kitchen twice and the bins three times, then conscripted DH to help search.

No joy.

A year later to the day - it turned up on the middle of the table where I had been using it the day it disappeared. It had definitely not spend an entire year there, as the kitchen had been completely cleaned more than once in that time.

DH swears he too has no idea either where it went, where it was for a year, or how it got back!

Oh you're really in the wars!
Let's hope that's an end to all your mishaps now.

DH ate it as a reward for finding it. I am OK but I am going to do something about the tile.

So far, since summer, I have been pulled over by my dog and fractured my shoulder, slipped on some food in Westfield and sprained my hip and now this.

littleflo I know where I would have suspected that mince pie went.
I do hope you're ok, and you did finally get to eat your pie. flowers

Years ago a schoolfriend lost a contact lens. After frantic searching and much scrabbling around on the floor, to no avail, it was eventually found having, somehow, landed on the concave lid of a bottle of baby lotion and was completely invisible! It was only because they moved the bottle and the lens fell off that it was found.

?Hope you're OK littleflo after that fall.

Nothing to report from me but I'll keep coming back to read everyone's stories. It's going to be an interesting fun thread. Hope there are not too many disasters.

gosh that sounds painful! but fancy it landing in a mug!! grin

Oh, littleflo, I hope you're not badly hurt?! But what were the odds that the mince pie would land in a mug? In our house it would have hit the wall and made a mess.
Can I ask, did anyone eat the mince pie? ??

I lost a balloon once, while blowing it up. It escaped before I could tie the knot in its neck, and spluttered through the air noisily then completely vanished. No sign of it anywhere until a few days later when I put a slice of bread into the toaster and got the most awful smell of burning rubber. The toaster had to be thrown out - you can't remove melted balloon from the element.

Last night I had a fall in the kitchen . We have a cracked tile close to the microwave. I tripped as I opened the microwave door and landed hard on my backside and hit my head on the fridge.

After DH helped me up I looked for the mince pie but could not find it. He questioned if I really had it but the microwave door was open and the empty foil rapper was there. That was enough evidence that I was not mad.

This morning, when making the tea, he reached down two mugs from our dresser. It had flown up in the air and landed upside down in a mug.

Does anyone else have such crazy stories?
