Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry outside and the wind has dropped as well here in Brackley this morning.
Today , my usual bus trip out to Bicester today , but yesterday i faced problems I usually make a few phone calls , only to be able to get through , but person on the other end could not hear me , it seems as though Northants county wise had been hit by strong winds and tornados according to BBC red button ,and may have disrupted commination signals .
Take Care,
Mick

Missed posting this morning, but hope everyone is having a good day. With daughter this week, just outside Manchester. It was a chilly morning, but lovely and bright now.
I’m glad your day wasn’t too bad, Harrigran. Look after yourself.
I won’t mention lots of others in case I forget anyone - as someone said a while ago, one might miss someone out and cause them to feel upset; one never knows what is going on in peoples’ lives.

PollyTickle Tue 02-Nov-21 12:39:40

Sorry Corner meant you with the standing down of the butler

PollyTickle Tue 02-Nov-21 12:38:37

Just come back after unpacking shopping delivery.
How sad Baubles, another family devastated by covid.
Hope your granddaughter’s blood tests are okay Sar, such a worry, hope she feels better soon.
I’ll bet those chocolates went down well Gingster. Your granddaughter is pursuing a very worthwhile career.
Hope your post op knee appointment goes well. I take it the butler has been stood down.
Hope the eye scan goes well Susan.
Lovely to hear about your long awaited grandchildren DanniRae, one of each, perfect.
Good luck at your appointment Cherry. Have you been able to sort out your problem neighbour?
BlueSapphire, chilli, orange and ginger sauce over salmon sounds mouth-wateringly delicious.
Thanks Jaxjacky, grandMattie, GrandmaJean, stillearning, Granmadinosaur and so many more of you for the kind sentiments and thank you Urms for that lovely reassurance. I know there was no other intent, gosh, it goes without saying and is very much appreciated.
Hope that horrid cold departs soon Dragonfly, sounds like flu to me. Keep warm and rest says Dr Tickle.
Hope the painted ceiling is all complete when you get home Pittcity.
Special thoughts to you Harrigran, stay strong.
Very warm wishes to all the lovely people on this warm and kind thread.
Big thanks to Mick.
I know, I’m feeling soppy today. Normal service will resume ASAP.

Good afternoon everyone, just back from a lovely bracing walk around Troon with my friend. Not as cold as was forecast, so that was a nice surprise. Planning to sit with my feet up this afternoon reading my magazine.

Purplepixie Tue 02-Nov-21 11:32:18

Good morning from a very sunny and lovely East Midlands. A wonderful day! Shopping all done and knitting this afternoon. Ah bliss! Take care and stay safe to you all.

aggie Tue 02-Nov-21 11:11:10

Good morning , sun is shining , washing on the line
Coffee time here ? no one here but me to see I’m taking two biscuits !

Urmstongran Tue 02-Nov-21 11:09:37

... all your family.

Urmstongran Tue 02-Nov-21 11:08:28

Another hug here harri for you.
And PollyTickle what a poignant read about your obviously much loved daughter in law. I hope her treatment soon brings back your healthy girl to you all and that those sad emotions will soon be a thing of the past. My younger sister went through the mill with Stage IV breast cancer, needing surgery, chemo, radiotherapy, removal of 16 lymph glands from her armpits, reconstruction and that was all 4 years ago now and she is happy and healthy. I post this, not in a competitive way but to hopefully reassure and inspire you all. x

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 02-Nov-21 11:05:13

I beg your pardon, it seems President Biden only had 22 cars in Scotland

Nannagarra Tue 02-Nov-21 10:51:08

Good morning from Sefton where it is no longer raining.
Glad to see you’ve had your booster Sar53 and that my suggestion to you yesterday worked.
Tai Chi for me today and a family member’s birthday celebration later.
Sending lots of hugs and hope in response to some concerning posts today. May you all find a smile and a ?.

hollysteers Tue 02-Nov-21 10:48:25

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening Lancashire coast.
DD and DS here, which is nice and DD cooked a spag bog last night, then we watched University Challenge and did quite well, apart from the questions where even the questions made no sense.
Today off to sing in music club, so should have a little warm up.
Bad stomach settling down.
DD brought a pile of books I had sent to my housebound sister in law, all by an author I like too, so must not buy any more books. Be told!
Hugs to harrigran after one of the most difficult days of our lives and hoping for good news for Susan56 ??

Good morning from a sunny but chilly North Wales.
I am back home now after visiting my daughter who has been ill but thanks to a lovely new young GP she is much better and able to cope with the whirlwind, 2 year old GS.
Harrigran Autumn Leaves was such a good choice for the sad event. I am singing it to myself and feeling tearful. My own DH died young many years ago. Look after yourself and stay close to those you love.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 02-Nov-21 10:17:05

Good morning Mick and all from a frosty and sunny morning.
Nothing much planned today, our lunch date with DHs friends has been cancelled as they have this awful cold.
I have to go and put my Geraniums away for the Winter later on when the day is warmer.
Ironing done, so now off to find scarves, hats and gloves another Autumn job.
Hugs for all of those who have worries and sadness, too many to mention this morning, but I’m thinking of you all.
DD1 is in Glasgow walking her socks off, strange how a Climate Conference sees so many private jets flying in, plus masses of vehicles shipped over for the occasion. They just don’t get it do they ? it’s always somebody else’s problem, rant over, sorry.

Good morning all from sunny W Kent. Having had GC here for a couple of days I have now booked a hearing test as DH says they were talking to me and I wasn't hearing! wonder what I missed.
Best wishes to all.

grandMattie Tue 02-Nov-21 10:02:38

So sad for your lovely d.i.l, Polly. She will certainly be kept in my prayers and thoughts. ❤️

Grandmajean Tue 02-Nov-21 09:59:33

Thinking often of your dear daughter- in -law, pollyTickle It makes little niggling annoyances seem so trivial.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 02-Nov-21 09:54:59

Good Morning all from bright and dry Harrogate - I have a wash on and am optimistic that it will mostly dry outdoors.
Well, that was nearly nasty, my Roomba vacuum cleaner decided to cleaner under the chair I was sat on and has got stuck. Will have to wait for DH to get back to get it out (my chair is too heavy for me to lift). Oh Susan56 fingers crossed the results will be better than you are thinking.
Marydoll I think the system in Scotland is different from here? I have had my booster, but have to have another one in a few weeks? Also a friend has been telling me of the problems with traffic because of the convention taking place. It's bad enough one person coming in one car, but when the Jo Biden comes in 85 cars, that's just a bit much!! And the president of China doesn't want to come in case he gets COVID, he's obviously got a short memory!!
'Nuff said!
Hugs for Harrigran
Hope you all have the best day you can.

Stilllearning Tue 02-Nov-21 09:48:48

Sorry, Susan, good luck with your scan.

dragonfly46 Tue 02-Nov-21 09:46:47

Good morning from a beautiful day in Leicestershire, such a pity I am not up to going out.

If you have the cold I have Marydoll I am surprised you can raise the energy to go out. I haven't felt as bad as this since I had chemo!

I sympathise with your lovely DiL Polly breast cancer, especially in one so young is very cruel. Unfortunately 1 in 8 women get it. I wish her well with the rest of her treatment.

Yesterday the Covid family were still relatively well but I have yet to get the daily update. I cannot sleep thinking about them so far away.

We are always here to hold your hand Harrigran. I am pleased yesterday went smoothly.

Wishing you all a good day.

Stilllearning Tue 02-Nov-21 09:46:00

A later good morning from me, bright sky but cold. DGC dispatched to school, uniforms to iron then home to my own ‘bit’ Experiencing the chaos that is breakfast, dressing, school bag, sports gear etc gathering, I love them dearly but am glad it is no longer a daily occurrence in my life! Definitely a time for everything!

So very sorry to read your sad news baubles, it’s quite frightening too. Will remember the family. Hope your wee one is better this morning

?to harrigran*, and supportive prayers for PollyTickles daughter in law.

Lovely to see Scentia posting again as well as some new grans, welcome to all of them.

Wishing everyone a good day???

Grandmadinosaur Tue 02-Nov-21 09:45:48

A warm hand to hold for you here harrigran I wasn’t aware of Autumn Leaves until you posted earlier about it. My what a very poignant song ?
Polly also thinking of your dear DIL going through a hard time ?

BlueSapphire Tue 02-Nov-21 09:22:53

Well, I know I posted my good morning because it came up highlighted in pink, but it is now nowhere to be seen! Perhaps it has spontaneously migrated to another thread!

It is a frosty morning and only 3° here in Northampton. A few jobs to do around the house this morning, then I am off out for a health walk this afternoon, followed by coffee and chat afterwards in the cafe. I need the exercise today, as I sat and read all afternoon yesterday. Even though I have a pile of books waiting to be read, I could not resist ordering yet another one!

A salmon fillet is waiting to be marinated in the Hairy Dieters' chilli, orange and ginger sauce, then I shall have that tonight with baby potatoes and peas.

Thinking of all those today who are feeling anxious, sad, or poorly, especially harrigran, Susan and Polly's DD. May the day be kind to all of us.

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Nov-21 09:04:12

Oh Polly it’s not fair is it, a harsh means to a healthy end. ?
Always warm hands and arms for hugs here harrigran x

Greyduster Tue 02-Nov-21 08:51:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire but it’s much colder this morning. At least we should be able to get DH out for a short walk, and I have some bits I want to do in the garden. We had a text last night from GS asking if we fancied a chat! It was ten minutes to ten and we were about to go to bed. Did we say no? Of course we didn’t! He’s a joy at any time.
Harri?. Every good wish to you going forward.
Have the best day you can, folks.
