Good morning Mick and all from a chilly Glasgow, it's only 2°. I hope the COP 26 folk are well wrapped up.
Thank goodness I have no hospital appointments in the next few weeks. DS1 has closed his office for two weeks, but DD and SIL are having problems convincing her boss, to allow them to work from home since getting across the city is very problematic.
Baubles, what sad news to read. It's awful to hear of people still dying from Covid. Your friend's family must be heartbroken.
DanniRae, its lovely to see you posting, I haven't seen you for a while. I'm sure you will have a lovely day with your beloved grandson!
Mr MDoll has been coercered offered to help me shopping. I have charity bags to drop off and ÑEED to go to Home Bargains before the shops get busy.
I am finding going out a wee bit of a struggle at the moment and seem to be getting more and more breathless. I am girding my loins, he is not the most patient of men! ?
I also expect my bill to double, he has a tendency to put random rubbish and unnecessary items in the trolley!
I had a bit of reassuring news yesterday. On Friday, I received a letter inviting me for a flu jag and a booster if I was eligible. For those who are immunocompromised, it is essential to have a third primary and not a booster, because for some of us, it has been found the first two doses have only as little as 40% efficacy, which is quite scary to say the least. However, the letter said nothing about a third primary one.
I spent hours on the vaccine helpline trying to get information, it was a total waste of time, despite my GP surgery saying the helpline people would sort it. The young man I spoke to hadn't a clue what I was talking about. I was crying tears of frustration at the end of it all. Eventually, I left a message for my consultant.
Happily I received a call from the hospital yesterday, saying that I did indeed require a third primary and a booster six months later and under no circumstances, was I to accept a booster.
The specialist nurse told me that as the NHS had failed to inform patients of this, ( and initially GPs!!!}, they were considering sending letters to their immunosuppressed patients to update them. . What an absolute shambles!
How on earth do those , who are not as well informed as me and on the ball, manage to get the appropriate support? How many have slipped through the net?
Many thanks to rascal on another thread, who has informed me of what will happen. Its like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
Wishing you all the best today, Cherry, its good to see you back and good luck with your appointment!
GM, as I still haven't managed to get on top of the sewing, I intend posting it down to you!
Hoping that all who have family suffering from Covid, see them quickly making a good recovery.
Harri was in my thoughts all of yesterday, life is so painful for many at the moment. ?
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.
