A sad day Georgesgran thinking of you ?
Labour Brings in excellent Renter's Rights - long overdue.
News blackout on Old Bailey Starmer arson case.
April 22nd Limerick (July '21 & July'23 AND....)
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterdays plans changed thanks to roadworks causing bus delays in Banbury , so was unable to use the bus to visit the cemetery .
Today , usual rip to Bicester on the bus later this morning ,and do housework as well.
Take Care,
Mick
A sad day Georgesgran thinking of you ?
So sorry Georgesgran for missing your post. What a difficult day for you, I can’t imagine how hard that must have been.
Another one missing GrandmaFrench’s posts. Always entertaining, and she often thought about others, not just herself
Thanks Marydoll, alway s read posts so know how everyone is doing??But yes, sad that Rufus doesn’t seem to be one of those.
Like so many we are not doing so well but as a friend constantly reminds me we are waking up every day .!!
All good wishes to those with sadness or worries.
Megs good to see you posting here. Glad to see you are ok. I know you miss Rufus.
Good morning from sunny Sefton.
This afternoon I’ll be doing Tai Chi with a friend after which we’ll have our usual long chat. She shows me the photos she receives each day from her DiL - the excitement about a first child, a first grandchild is palpable and a joy to share.
There were many holding their breath with you last night GG13. Thank you for the update. Fingers firmly crossed for positive news today for your DiL. I’ll be thinking also of Georgesgran, harrigran and GrannySomerset and sending a hug to others.
Yes, where is Grandmafrench? Her chatty life-affirming posts, like the uplifting daily greeting from Mattie, brighten my day more than is possibly imagined. I miss her too.
Good morning all. Sorry to disappoint my fellow North Walians but it’s pouring down in Anglesey.
Gosh Dragonfly, those wasps are hanging around aren’t they.
Glad your daughter-in-law has had her op GrannyGravy and hope the surgeon is pleased with how it went. Also hope that you’re recovering from your own nasty illness.
Another one here missing some lovely fun and kind posters EV, Grandmafrench, Muse, to mention but a few.
We’ll have the two little ones after school today, just for a couple of hours.
Had a lovely lunch out yesterday in a hotel in Anglesey’s most northerly village. Tables spaced well apart, table service only and staff masked.
Not many diners but bit embarrassing as couple at one table having a not too subtle disagreement. Poor emasculated husband being ordered to go to the car on two occasions for items she’d forgotten. There was a moment when Prack and I half expected her to throw a ball for him to fetch.
All of life as they say.
Have a good day ???
Sorry to hear so many are ‘suffering’ after the vaccinations, my husband and I ( not really the Queen . ?) were fortunate to have both flu and booster on same day, no ill effects other than slightly tender injection sites , guess we’ve been super lucky..
Good morning from sunny W Kent. Just off to town as noticed on Saturday that the butcher had turkey crowns for sale, I now have room in the freezer. Best wishes to all.
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk has clear blue skies and just a breeze, with no frost. The leaves have begun to fall from our walnut tree but there are still plenty to come. It is my idea to rake them up and bag them for leaf mould once they are all down.
I think we may go shopping today! There are C … presents to buy and wrap before we have visitors in a couple of weeks time.
?for good news from Gg and for your back GrannySomerset.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning Mick and all from a dull Lancashire coast.
Removal of daughter’s sofa bed yesterday into hire van for its trip to her new flat in the south. Flying visits from both DD and DS, who fixed the ‘welcome’ light and produced a brighter reading bulb for the sitting room. I pulled out two very heavy green bins (difficult on the gravel drive) before he came and could have left them for him, but it’s some exercise I suppose.
We watched two grey and one red squirrels cavorting in the back garden round our pine tree. I like the red and we are near a red squirrel reserve. I suggested we should shoot the grey for a casserole…
Today to music club and I will sing Carmen, some Handel and a folk song. Will make an effort to look the part. I should then be sensible and go food shopping.
Hope you all have a good day.
Oh, Marydoll! I so agree with you. When the children were smaller, I really wanted a wife…???
Good Morning all from bright Harrogate. Had another lousy night last night so have decided if it needs brain work today, it wont get done!
Undoubtedly my DH will decide he is in a worse state so must check the TV all day which is the job he gives to himself. So far my most strenuous job was getting up! I have put a wash on, optimistically again. yesterday's nearly got dried outside but needed finished off in the tumble drier. I daren't do any baking - I usually forget important ingredients when I am tired.
It's good that Harrigrans family are thinking of moving closer to her, it's good to have family near by.
Have the best day you can, folks1
Good morning from a bright Durham. Haven’t posted for a while as I’ve had a houseguest staying to see DH’s ashes taken to his favourite place to be re-united with his best friend and mentor. A difficult day for all - it’s such a wild forlorn moor on private land - we probably won’t go there again. I felt his presence with the ashes in the house and a bit at a loss now.
Still - those were his wishes from 20+ years ago, long before his illness, so I’ve done my part.
Chiropodist later, but coffee with a friend first.
Sorry to read of those GN’s struggling with their own health whilst caring for loved ones. It can’t be easy - you have my respect and admiration.
GrannySomerset did you make any progress with your back?
Good morning. I’m not usually up early enough to join in the chat, but a sore throat has forced an earlier get up. Should be going to a funeral, but think I should stay away. I’ve done a Covid test and it’s negative. But I was giving a lift to a lady undergoing cancer treatment so better safe than sorry. So a much quieter day than I thought it was going to be.
Good morning Mick and all from overcast Lancashire. Rain forecast for later, but at the moment the birds are singing away outside the window. Today’s only plan is to finish hemming a pair of trousers and repair the hem of a dress.
Have a peaceful day all. ?
Marydoll has brightened my day, which started with finding DH on the floor and the mammoth task of getting him back into bed. He has now had his tea and pills and I am now having mine and congratulating myself on not shouting while I wait for the pain killers to kick in so that I can embark on getting him dressed etc.
Thinking of grannyg’s family and the anxious wait for information and am envious of Scentia’s energy and capability. Sounds like a lot of people are going to have a busy day.
Good morning Mick and everyone from dark rainy Carlisle. I won't be mowing the lawn today I think! But it does need the final cut of the year at some point.
My free offerings have been over-subscribed, I didn't like saying sorry they've gone to various people. One more thing to be collected and I think there will be nothing else to clear out. DS2 will probably disagree when he arrives, he's always keener to de-clutter me than I am.
Marydoll, you made me smile...but I'm sure you know by now that men are such tender plants and always suffer more than us women.
Have the best possible day all of you.
She is missed Urms I agree.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire but it’s cold. We had a couple of hours in the garden yesterday tidying up and cutting back plants on the edge of the driveway. Then I went off and had my hair cut, which always gives me a tremendous lift. I haven’t had this hairdresser long but she is such a wonderful cutter. Today DH is hoping to give the front lawn a very final cut today (we thought it had already had a final cut, but it laughed at us!), if it dries out a bit. I must turn my attention to the ironing board☹️.
Have a good day, all, and stay safe.
P.s. I’m missing GrandmaFrench very much these days.
I hope she comes back soon. x
That made me giggle Marydoll! That said, if anything we have role reversal down here.
?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from Glasgow. I haven't a clue what the weather is like, I am still in bed!
Glad to hear slightly more positive news from GG
MrMDoll is suffering badly after his two vaccinations. Strangely enough, he managed his round of golf yesterday, before dumping his extremely wet golf gear in the utility room for me to fall over and deal with and collapsing on the sofa, until bedtime. He appeared to be superglued to it and did nothing, but complain all day.
Also suffering from amnesia, he forgot that I too had received my vaccinations at the same time and was feeling pretty grim.
Because I am a woman, I managed to wash and dry two loads of laundry, make dinner for the next two days and a host of other jobs. There was a fair number of banging of dishes and doors on my part, as he snored dozed the afternoon away. He has such a hard life, as a perfect wife, I can do nothing else, but take up the slack!
