Good morning Mick - methinks my weather won’t be as good as yours today! The chamberpot ☕️has been emptied and refilled as I’m up uber early for some reason?

Must pop to the station and pick up train tickets to York next month for a short break and will pick up DH scripts and have a coffee in lovely Conwy before catching bus home.

Hope to hear good news from GrannyGravy and will pop back later in case there’s a chance my ? needs opening.....?

Morning to you two already here and to all who follow. I've a gentle and promising day ahead with my friends who are so kindly accommodating me on this holiday. I'll keep dipping in and out to see what progress we're all thesehaving as the day goes on. Keep reaching for the stars everyone.

Tai chi this morning, coffee with the ladies afterwards. We’ve trained the pub staff to give us biscuits - we’ve been going for years and we’re the only customers who get biscuits! ?
The excitement of the week in the afternoon - my supermarket shop!
I made a vat of French onion ? soup so we’re having that for several days. If I’m feeling nice, we’ll have it with cheese on toast.
I hope today is kind to everyone especially the emotionally and physically fragile. Carpe diem ????☀️

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks promising in the weather department!
Nanna duties today and DGS is at playgroup this morning so I will be taking DGD to a toddler group to kill time as I am conscious of using too much fuel, both financially and environmentally. As after that I need to travel to my sisters in Nottinghamshire to collect some donations for my sale in aid of Staffordshire Women’s Aid later this month.
I should be putting a few hours in at the factory this evening but I can’t see that happening so I will do an early morning tomorrow to catch up. I do work better in the mornings than in the evening☺️

Nice to hear your memories of Shugborough Ash.We didn’t get there yesterday as just as we were ready to go B’s other grandma popped round to see us and by the time we had put the world to rights it was too late.?? for next week.I loved all the tales of the class pets??

We have our boosters at 9am and then we will pop into town for coffee and tea cakes at DH’s favourite cafe.

Got to get a move on this morning as we gave an electrician coming to fit an extractor fan over the shower in our bedroom.

Then a trip into town and a lovely burger from the visiting burgerologist this evening.

Good morning, everyone, from a calm and dry Torbay.

I had my booster yesterday morning so now have the expected sore arm, etc. A new theatre company member is meeting me this morning for a guided tour of our facilities so I’m sure I’ll feel better once I’m there.

Yesterday evening, olddudders and I enjoyed researching the story of Lieutenant Kijé and listening to Prokofiev's orchestral suite, composed as a film score. If you’re not familiar with the story, it’s worth reading.

The music is charming and includes a saxophone and cornet, not usually seen in classical orchestras.

It’s my swimming time this morning followed by a trip to the Post Office.
I’m thinking about my booster and will probably go to a walk in session unless I’m called and given a date by the surgery.

Our DiL’s operation went ahead yesterday, it seemed like we held our breath from lunchtime till bedtime. We now have to wait for her to see the surgeon to learn the outcome.

Good morning from a grey but mild Essex by the sea .
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to our local theatre last night, it was full of the elderly like me, but by the end everyone was on their feet clapping and singing. I felt a bit like Billy no mates as I went on my own but DH would have hated it.
This morning we are going out for breakfast before DH has a night away sailing.
I'm hoping GG13 is feeling better today.

A visit to the Army charity shop this morning, I’m looking for a sturdy table to support the weight of my old sewing machine, probably a small kitchen table, something I can leave up permanently in a corner somewhere.
Apart from that a pottering day
Ash we sang the song about Kije at school,
Oh Kije was a soldier brav, a soldier brave was he……..
We were told at the time that it was about a real person.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Mild and dry forecast.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering. I wonder what delights we'll discover?
DH will finish the lounge redecoration while I'm out and make a curry with Sunday's leftover beef for tea. He needs to redeem himself after getting in a fluster while buying jeans in M&S yesterday. He couldn't find his card to pay. I used mine and got on the app and cancelled his card. We got home to find the card in the pocket of the new jeans!!?

Good morning from a damp East Yorkshire.

I had another productive day in the house yesterday sorting cupboards etc. I also went into the village and took items for the food bank collection and charity shop.

Today will be a back to back day. Coffee morning then home for a quick lunch. Then I have my booster jab appt. Only booked it online on Sunday and just after I’d done it I remembered I have a hair appt 45 minutes later. DH booked his for the same time and thinks I can get back in time?I’m having my roots done and a blow dry. After that we have dgs after school.

Good morning from a grey but milder (10°C today) Northampton. For some reason the windows are all steamed up, and peeking out I see that neighbours' windows are too.

Didn't manage to post yesterday as I was expecting a phone call from the surgery about something I'd been worrying about. Wonder of wonders after a chat with a doctor he asked me to go in for a face to face appointment late morning! So it was a bit of a rush to get ready and get there. Luckily he was able to put my mind at rest, so panic over.

I had a brilliant time at the international rugby on Sunday, and enjoyed watching an amazing England women's team beat New Zealand, 56-15., so the Red Roses have now won the series two out of three. There was a good crowd of 10,000 to cheer them on, and both teams were most accommodating afterwards, signing shirts and having numerous selfies taken. It was bitterly cold though and I was glad I had my thermals on (and a mini bottle of red wine!).

A visit to the opticians in town this afternoon, then shall pop in a jewellers to see if they have some nice earrings for DGD's 14th birthday this week. I was disappointed by the ones I had ordered from John Lewis; they were much smaller than expected, and the post on one of them was bent. I decided to keep them for myself, as I can put up with a wonky post, and actually they do look quite nice on, (and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of sending them back).

Good morning. The weather is not looking too bad here in M. Bucks.
Have been on the go really this morning as we have long time friends visiting today. I hope I have got the food right as one is diabetic and another coeliac. They won’t make a fuss but I’d like them to enjoy a good lunch. DD3 and the boys will call in to see them and DD 2 if she can get away from her desk for a while. DD1 is away on holiday.

Good morning from Giffnock where the sky is lightening but very heavy looking. The new kitten sleeps in my room and I am wakened by her early morning ablutions so to speak. I shall be very glad when she can join the other cat in the big world!

After the children leave for school I’ll iron the week’s school uniforms ( my daughter’s least favourite task) and then head home. A walk with a friend this afternoon if the rain holds off, or at least pauses, and then coffee and chat.

After that I plan to finish this month’s book club choice, The Nightingale, which is a difficult read about wartime France. I visited Oradour- sur- Glane a long time ago and could never forget it. It’s a good book but I’ll be glad to finish it.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester (why does prompt still insist on offering ‘beach’ and ‘palm’ as I type ?) where it’s dry and we have the most gorgeous sunrise with an apricot sky to the east and the Pennines quite clearly visible.

My upper arm is sore from my Pfizer booster yesterday afternoon. Himself had an appointment and I got mine as a walk in. Great service and only a small queue.

I too have a back-to-back day ahead Grandmadinosaur. I’m making the SOAP dish for my daughter and son in law as she has a meeting after the school day ends. Then I’m off to have lunch with some of my book clubber retiree ladies. Home, then picking up the grandchildren and giving them their tea whilst waiting for mummy to come home. We will probably stay and have a cuppa with her as Himself will be taking the Boy Wonder to his football practice session.

Once home I need to crack on with the book club read. I’ve read 30% and the meeting is tomorrow night so if I keep up the pace I should just about finish it on time. grandMattie I wonder if you’d enjoy it? ‘A Single Thread’ is set in Winchester, England in 1932. It contains descriptions of cathedrals and technical terms for the embroidery of kneelers which a group of ladies are engaged in a huge project. I did think of you as I was reading it!

Relieved to hear the tentative good news so far about your daughter in law GG13. Fingers and toes crossed for you all that her surgeon was pleased about the operation itself yesterday.

I loved ‘The Nightingale’ Stilllearning! I read it a few years ago - not a BC read - and kept thinking about it for ages afterwards. It was SO tense at times my heart was racing.
