Today , as the buses seem to be working normal ,I will visit the cemetery, and place the silk flowers for the winter months ahead .
Apart from a early shop to get some things .
Yesterdays trip to Bicester went OK seems to be more people about just recently .
Take Care,
Mick

Marydoll enjoy the hairdressers. Say Hi to all - they have been so kind looking out for my mother, dropping in papers and escorting her across the road when needed( she lives opposite and has done for 54 years!).
Have a good day all!

Good afternoon from a wet and grey East Midlands. I have just returned from getting my booster Covid jab. More knitting this afternoon and catching up with the Great British Bake off. smile

Good Morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I have been out this morning to visit the DIY emporium, it's nice and quiet on Wednesdays. I bought my final 3 lampshades, I thought I'd better do so before I started failing to notice that there weren't any up. It's been hard to find ones I like especially as I only wanted lampshades not the ones that involve fittings and thus an electrician ( I have a healthy respect for anything electric and don't meddle!).
Wishing you all the best possible day.

Just popping back in to see your update GG13. Hope your SiL’s surgery goes well and the rest of the family are improving x.

Jaxjacky Wed 10-Nov-21 10:52:55

I’m not surprised you have a headache GG13, lots of worry in your life which I hope soon passes with successful outcomes for all. Take care ?

PollyTickle Wed 10-Nov-21 09:44:11

Good morning Mick, good morning all from a dry and sunny Anglesey. Gardening for us today, clearing the last of the leaves and protecting some pots of more delicate plants.
Safe journey home Kim.
What a lovely idea for Christmas presents those bags are grandMattie.
So many of you this morning with worries for friends and family members, illness and sadness, special thoughts to you all.
Keep a look out for the occasional random pink flamingo and enjoy the moment no matter how fleeting.

Mapleleaf Wed 10-Nov-21 09:34:28

Good morning,
Just a quick hello but will look in later to read all the posts.
Take care, everyone.

hollysteers Wed 10-Nov-21 09:29:00

Thoughts also to GG13

hollysteers Wed 10-Nov-21 09:28:00

Good morning Mick and all from a wet Lancashire coast.
As I’m taking the bus for a change to the weekly recitals, I think my hooded coat is in order.
The reaction is not nice Ashcombe but thankfully not long lasting and worth it (I hope!)
Nice day yesterday at music club with a good turnout and homemade strawberry tartlets. Then I did a ‘big’ shop at Aldi for the first time in ages and of course ended up with more than usual. The bill was a pleasant surprise however.
Thoughts to Georgesgran and harrigran and anyone else with worries.
Have a good day.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 10-Nov-21 09:22:11

Thinking of you GG13 what a time your family are going through. ?

aggie Wed 10-Nov-21 09:21:40

Good morning everyone, it’s dry and bright at the moment , so I have the curtains I took down in my bedroom in the washing machine .
I bought nice fresh new ones , unfortunately they have thin linings , so new blackout linings ordered , but the brightness got me out of bed at 7.30 to get the washing on . It took me forever loosening the strings to flatten them
I had a thick head yesterday that I think was from the booster , but ok today
I can see , what looks like steam , coming off the patio chairs ! The sun must be burning off the dew , but it does look startling ,
Hoping some sun and pleasantness for all Grans today xxx

Nannagarra Wed 10-Nov-21 09:17:03

GG13 you, your DiL, SiL and DGC all need one massive hug. Sending you one now.
Glad today’s a bit better for you Georgesgran and hope the same is true for harrigran.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 10-Nov-21 09:05:51

Morning all from a rainy corner of S E Essex.

DiL is doing well, 9 days till she gets the results ??My Sister in law is in the operating room (really dislike calling it a theatre ) as I type to have half of one of her lungs removed, I really feel her as her husband died in July (DH’s brother). Let’s hope that’s the end of our health issues with Gravy Grange family.

Four children in the 6yr olds class have tested positive, we had a real dramatic start to the day trying to coerce him to let DD perform a LFT, Grandma resorted to bribery, ice cream and chocolate sauce with breakfast ? (He had a PCR test before he could go back to school in September 2021 and has been petrified every since)

Last day of antibiotics for me, I feel a lot better just wish the headache that I have had for four weeks would flipping go.

Will now drink my latte and read your posts

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good morning all, it’s a rainy day here in Lancashire. I was up very early today as I had an appointment at the haematology clinic. All done and dusted, back home with a cup of tea and an oat flapjack. Mr. B has gone shopping, I,don’t know what I’d do without him.

Hope everyone manages to find a little cheer today ?

Anniebach Wed 10-Nov-21 08:45:09

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Wed 10-Nov-21 08:42:44

Good morning everyone from Rip Van Winkle over here in south Manchester! I slept 9 hours solid with no waking so I don’t think our 11 year old JL mattress needs ditching just yet do you? I suppose as we’ve spent half the year in Spain these last seven years it’s not quite had that amount of usage!

Must crack on with my book club read and hope to finish it by 3pm as we pick up the grandchildren, give them their teas and take them to swimming lessons before I set off to the pub to discuss the book!

Special thoughts today for GG13 and her family who must be feeling knocked sideways right now. x

Georgesgran Wed 10-Nov-21 08:42:09

Good morning from Durham - gloomy and grey. (That sounds like me).
Chap coming at lunchtime to do plans for patio which seems quite straightforward. Should begin later this month. Then coffee with friend at 2pm. I’m still using my car (carefully) as the garage can’t get/replace the part until next week, so not going far from home.
I must say a heartfelt thank you to GN’s who commented on yesterday’s post - you kind people.
I’ve a Dormeo mattress - came in a box - not really used to it yet. The Dreams machine thing to measure body pressure sounds promising Scentia.

Nannytopsy Wed 10-Nov-21 08:35:29

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s grey and rather damp here in Suffolk this morning. That’s disappointing after a beautiful day yesterday.
Scentia you could have been describing me! We were recommended to buy a firm mattress but with a built in memory foam topper, to protect our joints. It is very comfortable and supportive and again doesn’t turn over.
It is deep, so needs extra deep sheets. My little legs don’t touch the floor if I sit on the bed!
WI this afternoon and I need to make a “peasant” skirt for DGD for the Christmas performance, so I need to get fabric.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very dull and overcast Northampton, light rain and drizzle forecast later, so will leave it till lunchtime to decide whether I go to my afternoon club or not.

Sad news yesterday: a message from one of late DH's cousins in Australia to say that her mother had died. She had been in a care home for a few years with dementia, amongst other things, and was nearly 90, so not a shock, but very sad, nonetheless. DH had been very close to the family growing up and thought a lot of them. They emigrated to Australia in the early 1980s, so of course have not seen a lot of them. We went to the daughter's wedding when we lived in Australia in 1990, and DH and I also had a further holiday in Australia about 20 years ago and saw them then. I phoned her husband last night to offer our condolences and had a long chat. It has hit him hard, and he said he now knows what I went through after losing DH. We shall be sending flowers or making a donation in her memory. Just waiting for them to make arrangements.

Had a good visit to the opticians yesterday; no change in my cataracts (so don't need any interventions yet), and my vision has only changed slightly, so no need for new glasses this year, thank goodness.

Had a mooch around the shops and nearly bought a new bright orange handbag which caught my eye, but managed to restrain myself! Got a lovely pair of earrings for DGD who turns 14 tomorrow - where has the time gone?

Spent all day fiddling with my phone, as it wasn't picking up the Wi-Fi connection at home but whatever I did, didn't work. Eventually called DD who suggested turning my phone right off for half an hour or so and bingo, when I turned it back on, connected straight away! Just had to put the password in.

Must get a move on this morning as a neighbour has kindly offered to take my two dead lawn mowers to the tip, and I would like to get them out of the garage before he comes round.

Scentia, we found a mattress topper improved the comfort of our mattress no end.

Wishing all a good day.

Nannagarra Wed 10-Nov-21 08:29:44

Good morning from Sefton.
Our mattress is from John Lewis. It was made in Yorkshire using local materials, is heavenly and only needs to be swivelled.
A few phone calls, having fun with DGD after school and an evening swim are on my agenda today. I’ve bought her a ‘Strictly’ dress and do hope she likes it. Though it’s covered in sequins it’s not pink which might be an issue!
Thinking of missing posters and sending virtual hugs to many.
Have the best day you can everyone. ???

Greyduster Wed 10-Nov-21 08:28:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s grey and dreary but not cold in South Yorkshire this morning. DH managed to cut the front lawn yesterday. I’m surprised he managed it, albeit with a couple of breaks, but we then went on to clearing dead plants from the back garden as part of the winter tidy up. We have a quiet day today. I found an unopened jar of mincemeat in the store cupboard, so I may make a few mince pies.
Hope everyone’s day is more productive than mine!?

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 10-Nov-21 08:26:33

No Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
I agree with pittcity I like the pocket sprung mattresses, Scentia. But my bed at the moment, I bought from a friend, it’s an adjustable electric bed. It came with a deep foam mattress, but I bought a woollen topper for it from JL. It’s very comfortable, but I don’t know how old the mattress is, so I shall probably have to think about replacing it in the future. It would have to be another foam one to work with the bed.
Today I feel more human and am hoping to take a trip to Knaresborough Market this am and see the wonders of this ancient town.
Safe trip home Kim never been to the IOW, who knows, might make it some day!
Have the best day you can folks

Grammaretto Wed 10-Nov-21 08:18:21

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders. Cold today. I must find jobs for my new Helpers to do in exchange for me keeping them warm and fed.
I think it will be putting up pictures indoors and moving wood outdoors today. They are still in bed so it doesn't bode well.

I bought an orthopaedic mattress which is excellent. Not too firm but supportive. Scentia

My poor DiL has a frozen shoulder since her jab a few months ago. She is a nurse and says the injection was in the wrong place - too high.

The IOW sounds wonderful Kim

Have as best a day you can. I must go and make porridge.

AGAA4 Wed 10-Nov-21 08:17:44

Good morning everyone from a cloudy North Wales.

My neighbour, who had been here for 13 years moved out a few days ago and it feels strange without her.
I missed my walk yesterday so I will head out soon.
DS has invited me for Christmas but I will have to see the others too over that holiday.
Wishing a peaceful, pleasant day to all ?
