A long phone call from my eldest GD. She’s at Uni doing a Mental Health degree and is presently in a placement at a men’s psychiatric hospital. She sounds happy and upbeat. I’m so proud of her. ❤️

The beautiful autumn colours have been such a joy!

Yes, I came out of work yesterday afternoon to the leaves glowing red and orange with the late sun on them. A real Wow moment.

I've finally got my butt in gear and properly started the keto diet, I've been playing at for the past 6 months. Second week in and I can feel the pounds coming off.grin

Surprise visit from DGS. He even stayed the night. I’m cooking him a large breakfast!

Just spent the week in a caravan cabin in country Victoria with a Probus group and we all got close to each other and shared many laughs and memories, just so thankful to be out of our ridiculously long lockdown

Got a message yesterday from my sister in the US with confirmation of her plane tickets to come here this Christmas. We’ve not seen her for two years obviously and as mum is now living in a care home, my sister will be staying with me so I’m busy planning lots of exciting family events.

Here’s hoping my son and girlfriend will be joining us on Christmas Day as well,

I went for a short shop to Burnley with our daughter who suddenly became very ill a few months ago. I hope it is a little step back to normality as it's been a nightmare. It's going to be a long journey I believe but seeing her smile in M & S cafe was a miracle.

Just returned from seeing Blood Brothers at the theatre so good to have a bit of normality.

My five year old granddaughter was practising using the landline in an emergency for the first time.

We were the first people she called. DH, said that was the first time, he had ever heard anyone out talk me, I couldn't get a word in edgeways and couldn't get her off the phone.

Pure joy!

4 years of hard work and study despite feeling too old for education, pandemics and serious illness paid off. I have my dream job!

Might see a lot less of gransnet. Not sure that's a bad thing lol

My son’s graduation ceremony was yesterday, it was well overdue as he was a 2020 graduate - it was so nice to see him and his course mates together again for the first time in 18 months having missed all the post degree celebrations due to Covid.

I met up with my best friend of over 62 years and we had wonderful few days together. Oh yessss......

We’ve had a lovely meal out tonight on a voucher bought for us last Christmas. The restaurant was busy! Great for a Thursday night I bet Zola (owner) was delighted business is booming again. Delighted for us and for him and his many staff.

Good going Shinamae well done to you!
I've had a good week this week too; booked and paid for several theatre trips, hobby group outings, 2 Christmas market trips and 2 Christmas lunches meet ups. Regrettably, I won't be going to any gym to undo any of it! grin

Shinamae Thu 11-Nov-21 20:58:39

It’s my second week at the gym and I’ve managed to stick to it, even when I’ve been called into work I have gone into the gym before work so that has made me happy..?
