Good morning Mick and all his followers. Light cloud and breezy in Suffolk this morning. DGD has tested positive for Covid but doesn’t seem unwell. ?
Happy Birthday to OD - plenty of fizz? ?
Today I shall experiment with Homity Pie. Cheese and potatoes - what’s not to like? ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick, morning all from wet and breezy South Lanarkshire.

Good to hear about your grandson’s visit Mattie and your school pick up Marydoll, these little things mean so much.

You’re going to be busy MOMB!
Happy birthday to Olddudders.

I’m late this morning, must get a move on and get ready for my shift in the charity shop, I hope the wet weather doesn’t keep people away.

Highs and lows on the thread this morning, sending good wishes to everyone.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day and may you find a ?or two along the way.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 12-Nov-21 08:24:56

Oops I forgot to say it will be the highlight of the day Marydoll collecting your granddaughter. Enjoy !

Grandmadinosaur Fri 12-Nov-21 08:23:27

Good morning all. It’s a damp , grey start in East Yorkshire.
Late here today. Fell back to sleep and when I woke my tea had gone cold ?.

I enjoyed the theatre yesterday. It felt good to be back. The part of Billy Flynn was played by Darren Day who was excellent. If I hadn’t known I wouldn’t have recognised him . He is a real silver fox these days!

My only plans for today are a food shop at some point and collect dgs from school. We are going out for tea to a pub with a nice play area so it works out easy for us we just have to sit there!

Yesterday I found the rail in my wardrobe had broken and clothes all over the place. I’ve known it was coming for a while as it groaned every time I rewarded it with something new ? so a job for his lordship at the weekend.

Sorry your granddaughter is unwell again the poor lamb Urms I hope she can get to see a Dr.
Happy birthday to Olddudders

Thoughts to others with worries, health issues etc. ?

Take care.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Just waiting for DD to drop Henry off or as she put it I will have to throw him in the door mum as I have to be back to take M to school.Normally SIL does the school run while DD drives over here but he is busy at the farm this morning.

Happy birthday to olddudders??

Lovely news that your grandson stayed mattie and that you are doing the school run Mary?

Hoping that L’il Miss can be seen by the dr Urms.

Thinking of all with illness, worries and struggles and thinking as well of all our missing good morning friends.

Pants, you may need another bottle,we got our first Christmas card yesterday?

??

harrigran Fri 12-Nov-21 08:20:16

Good morning from an overcast NE with a promise of rain later.
DD and SIL got a lot of admin work done yesterday for which I am very grateful. Some of the paperwork may as well be written in Klingon for all the sense it makes confused
My sister will call in today before she travels to Northumberland for a wedding, apparently taking place in an open sided barn.
Hope the poorly people are soon on the road to recovery.

Good morning all- it seems fair here in N Bucks, but I’ll be honest, I haven’t actually looked outside yet.
Got to pick up a pair of hair straighteners (my hairdressers suggestion) I ordered from John Lewis at Waitrose this morning. I dare say I might be tempted to do what Mick calls “a small shop” as it is my spiritual home.
Then book group this afternoon. They will be trying to arrange a Christmas lunch. I must be the only person who really does not care for these- I don’t want another overpriced “turkey and all the trimmings” and would much rather go out for a meal in January when, let’s face it, there’s not much else going on, it’s easier to get a booking and a better choice of menu. Bah humbug!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Jaxjacky Fri 12-Nov-21 08:16:50

Happy Birthdays MrAshcombe and oldudders have a lovely day both ????.
L’il Miss is having a bad run lately Urms something seems to be lurking, let’s hope it’s sorted quickly.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
Waiting in for the components for our new bathroom to be delivered and hoping they'll fit in the space we've cleared.
We then need to hit the supermarket as we've got DGS1 and 3 overnight and need to do the school run. DD1 has been invited to lots of postponed weddings this year and many are on weekdays.

Sending love to all x

Greyduster Fri 12-Nov-21 08:11:52

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s dreary out there today. DH has an optician’s appointment this morning and while he is there I will go to M&S and buy some of their lovely clementine mincemeat (if they have it this year). Then on to Sainsburys. DS and DiL are coming down this weekend so some housecleaning will be on the agenda later!
Momb you have quite a houseful! Hope it goes well!
Ash A very Happy Birthday to OD! ??
Have a good day, one and all.

Good morning everyone from a dull start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. Where’s that beautiful morning sunshine I’ve been getting these past few days? I’m not kean to get up this morning I’ve had a restless night, that takes care of my afternoon rest today it’ll be napping time no doubt.

My lovely cleaner is coming today( I hope) she’s changed her routine because she’s got another job in Aldi’s or Lidl’s I can never remember which one. She says she gets better pay and conditions than her previous job at the garage. She fits us in when it suits that’s no problem to me as long as she comes once a week. The kitchen and bathroom is her main concern my dh cleans the rest of the house it’s a tidy compact house most of the time.

We popped off to our local armistice day service in the local village yesterday it was lovely to see so many folks there including the local primary school children and a man playing the bagpipes [ smile] I seem to remember in days gone by most Sunday services outside the church standing in the freezing rain however the sun sunshine shone yesterday.

I wonder what’s on the menu today I’ll need to forage in the fridgefreezer and see what needs to be thawedconfused

Have a good Friday everyone and enjoy your weekend get your warm togs on it’s going to be very cold, in fact I believe we may see the start of the snow shock

Grandmajean Fri 12-Nov-21 08:07:26

We’re doing the school pick up later today and bringing the DGC to us for Friday Pizzas and a sleepover tonight. DD2 and SiL are going Christmas shopping for their main presents and hoping to get them wrapped up and squirrelled away before they’re home tomorrow

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Fri 12-Nov-21 07:33:06

Morning Mick and all from a showery Glasgow. GM, I'm another one, who had a dreadful night. Everything always seems worse at night.

Lovely to hear of all those seeing family. Last night DD and SIL appeared and decided to stay for dinner, when the found out home made chips were on the menu! Its a rare treat for us, strange how DD knew! She has an uncanny knack for turning up at just the right moment!

Yesterday's trip to LIDL nearly bankrupted us, when MrMDoll got a tad carried away in both the middle and beer aisles! I haven't seen a shop so well stocked in a long time, even the food aisle was bursting with items. Thanks to DH, our front garden is going to look like a tacky Santa's grotto, come Christmas. Of course its all for Dollie's benefit!
The highlight for me was the veggie box for £1.50, I reckoned that there was a least worth £10 of still fresh veggies there. ( Please ignore the messy kitchen ☺)

We also received yet another phone call from Dollie, this time telling us her mum and dad were going on a date (it was ok, because they were married) and (for the first time ever) could we pick her up from school today. My heart is bursting with joy.
She was most concerned that we wouldn't know the way, so proceeded to give us directions, from both her own home and ours.
She was so ingenuous and amazed to hear that my three children also went there and I too was in and out of her school when I was teaching. I used to support the staff in delivering French.
I cannot believe that my son and DIL are thawing at last, my son has also hinted that he would like to contact his sister. He has a lot of apologising to do there.
It is so difficult being a mum and stuck in the middle. My children were always so close, until the pandemic hit. ?

So many of our friends and their families, suffering on here. Sending healing vibes to them all, especially those who are bearing it silently in their hearts.
To the poster, who, unexpectedly PMd me yesterday, I was so delighted to hear from you and I hope to see you posting again very soon.

Wishing Soop a safe journey home today, after her hospital stay, not the best of roads to travel on in bad weather, with the added problem of closed roads, due Cop26. DD says it has been a nightmare to get across town to work.

The golfer has just come up to tell me his game has been cancelled, due to the bad weather. Oh blast, that's my empty gone!! Its downhill from now on! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans and fingers crossed for negative Covid tests.

Aldom Fri 12-Nov-21 07:31:55

gMattie flowers. Thinking of you. It's very early days. So glad your grandson spent the night with you.

Gingster Fri 12-Nov-21 07:23:10

How do I do the strike-through? It never seems to work for me. ?

Jaxjacky Fri 12-Nov-21 07:22:07

Good morning all from a wet S Hants. MrJ has just noticed our boiler pressure is low, need to sort that today. Along with making a beef stew, some cleaning and putting a wash on.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night gM, but pleased your DGS visited, a lovely surprise and Polly up early too.
I’ll catch up later ??

Gingster Fri 12-Nov-21 07:22:03

Good morning all and it’s bright and still here in Essex.

Today I’m off on a bus trip to Chelmsford with my friend. We do this about now every year for her birthday and a bit of Christmas shopping. Coffee first and then a latish lunch. A nice day ahead ?.

Dh had a very productive day - -for him- - yesterday. He fixed the toilet overflow, second coated the hall wall and finished making a new shed door. AND walked little pooch. Hopefully he’s found his mojo. ?.

GG hoping things are looking better for you ?

Lovely to have your GS stay over GM ❤️

Good luck with your busy weekend MOMB . You’ll certainly need your mojo. Have fun!

Enjoy your days everyone, and get well wishes to all poorly grans.?

Grammaretto Fri 12-Nov-21 07:20:31
