Morning Mick and all from a showery Glasgow. GM, I'm another one, who had a dreadful night. Everything always seems worse at night.
Lovely to hear of all those seeing family. Last night DD and SIL appeared and decided to stay for dinner, when the found out home made chips were on the menu! Its a rare treat for us, strange how DD knew! She has an uncanny knack for turning up at just the right moment!
Yesterday's trip to LIDL nearly bankrupted us, when MrMDoll got a tad carried away in both the middle and beer aisles! I haven't seen a shop so well stocked in a long time, even the food aisle was bursting with items. Thanks to DH, our front garden is going to look like a tacky Santa's grotto, come Christmas. Of course its all for Dollie's benefit!
The highlight for me was the veggie box for £1.50, I reckoned that there was a least worth £10 of still fresh veggies there. ( Please ignore the messy kitchen ☺)
We also received yet another phone call from Dollie, this time telling us her mum and dad were going on a date (it was ok, because they were married) and (for the first time ever) could we pick her up from school today. My heart is bursting with joy.
She was most concerned that we wouldn't know the way, so proceeded to give us directions, from both her own home and ours.
She was so ingenuous and amazed to hear that my three children also went there and I too was in and out of her school when I was teaching. I used to support the staff in delivering French.
I cannot believe that my son and DIL are thawing at last, my son has also hinted that he would like to contact his sister. He has a lot of apologising to do there.
It is so difficult being a mum and stuck in the middle. My children were always so close, until the pandemic hit. ?
So many of our friends and their families, suffering on here. Sending healing vibes to them all, especially those who are bearing it silently in their hearts.
To the poster, who, unexpectedly PMd me yesterday, I was so delighted to hear from you and I hope to see you posting again very soon.
Wishing Soop a safe journey home today, after her hospital stay, not the best of roads to travel on in bad weather, with the added problem of closed roads, due Cop26. DD says it has been a nightmare to get across town to work.
The golfer has just come up to tell me his game has been cancelled, due to the bad weather. Oh blast, that's my empty gone!! Its downhill from now on! ?
Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans and fingers crossed for negative Covid tests.
