Good morning Mick and all from Anglesey.
This is the earliest I’ve been up in a while. Pitch black and windy out there.
Not too warm either, thinking I might go back to bed.
Hope GrannyGravy you’ve had some rest and are feeling better while you await good news for you daughter-in-law.
Hope little miss is okay Urms and hasn’t coughed all night.
No doubt you’re their typing away as I write grandMattie, ever the early bird.
Hope you’re feeling better Georgesgran and anyone else with the lurgy.
Hope your back is not too troublesome GrannySomerset.
Keep on keeping on Harrigran, you’re doing well.
Hope for no further nose bleeds Jaxjacky.
Have a good day all, I may pop back when I’ve had a bit more sleep ? .

Morning Mick from a damp north Wales where the chamberpot ☕️ is hot and steaming.....oh I do love my double entendres?

Sad to read of so many with family unwell ? and I do miss Friday Girl, Grandmafrench and the crumpet Queen - hope it’s just a break they’re having!

Some financial finagling for me this morning- I need to check my State Pension is being processed for next month as apparently there have been delays ? - shall have my sulking head on if I have to wait any longer than six years.....

Will pop back later to see if my ? needs opening - any occasion will do folks, ingrown toenail removal, arrival of first Xmas card....?

PollyTickle Fri 12-Nov-21 06:13:02

Forgot the important wish ?

PollyTickle Fri 12-Nov-21 06:15:31

Sorry to disappoint Pant no ingrown toenail to remove, no cards yet either just lots of fierce wind coming your way - no rude comments thank you

Good morning from a dark .e Kent.
Had a worse night than usual, Polly, and am up later than usual.
We had the great joy of DGS suddenly inviting himself over for dinner and the night. We went through some of his dad’s stuff. I’m bribing him with a cooked breakfast and the fact that he can sleep an extra hour before leaving for college in Canterbury in the hope he might visit more often!
Spanish class went really well, as one of the students was on holiday, one had to leave at half time. It left two of us. We worked extra hard but it was really good.
Having to take a LFT in order to visit my grumpy old friend in the nursing home later. Not looking forward to it.
Hope today brings relief and courage to all those in need, especially GG, hG, GS …. Everyone else, have a good day. ???☀️?☀️☀️?☀️??

Beechnut Fri 12-Nov-21 06:36:25

Good Morning from Severnside. It’s dark and wet. Only a few more weeks until it starts to get lighter once again.

My friends that moved away came to visit yesterday. We swopped stories about aches and pains and did some laughing, so good to see them.

I see my wfp has dropped into my bank account overnight with a message and also email about festive scammers.

Refuelling today for both myself and car with a trip to the garage to arrange a service.

Have the best day you can all ???

kittylester Fri 12-Nov-21 07:01:42

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire- I'm sure there is some weather but I can't see it.

Our cleaner is coming this morning, we have some tiles being delivered, the butcher will drop our meat off and I need to go to the village to collect a light up reindeer head!

DD2 and Co will arrive tonight as everyone is off to the street fair tomorrow

Urmstongran Fri 12-Nov-21 07:15:41

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dark and wet but there is a band of rose pink over to the east so the sunrise is here. Can’t see the Pennines this morning, too much heavy grey cloud.

I’m up early with a cuppa in preparation for going over at 8am to mind L’il Miss but just had a text “rotten night, coughing ++ in bed with us, temp 38.9°C. Am staying home with her mum think she should see doctor. Just rung Head he’s not happy but what can I do?”

To be honest I’m relieved. It’s a big responsibility looking after a poorly child. I said I’d go round later to give support and bring hot filter coffees! Poor daughter had hardly any sleep last night. No PCR test result yet although she thinks it will be negative. Hope so. Fingers crossed.

Grammaretto Fri 12-Nov-21 07:16:47

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Mild and still so far but winds are due.
Thanks Beechnut for reminding me about the car. I was told I have a rear light not working. All these things I have to attend to now I'm on my own.
After much indecision I have bought a new cooker. It arrives tomorrow but won't be installed just yet.
Sorry to hear about aches and pains on here.
Momb you are in for a busy weekend.
I hope it's fun ?

Grammaretto Fri 12-Nov-21 07:20:31

Urms sorry to hear about your little DGD.
Hope she's better very soon.

Gingster Fri 12-Nov-21 07:22:03

Good morning all and it’s bright and still here in Essex.

Today I’m off on a bus trip to Chelmsford with my friend. We do this about now every year for her birthday and a bit of Christmas shopping. Coffee first and then a latish lunch. A nice day ahead ?.

Dh had a very productive day - -for him- - yesterday. He fixed the toilet overflow, second coated the hall wall and finished making a new shed door. AND walked little pooch. Hopefully he’s found his mojo. ?.

GG hoping things are looking better for you ?

Lovely to have your GS stay over GM ❤️

Good luck with your busy weekend MOMB . You’ll certainly need your mojo. Have fun!

Enjoy your days everyone, and get well wishes to all poorly grans.?

Jaxjacky Fri 12-Nov-21 07:22:07

Good morning all from a wet S Hants. MrJ has just noticed our boiler pressure is low, need to sort that today. Along with making a beef stew, some cleaning and putting a wash on.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night gM, but pleased your DGS visited, a lovely surprise and Polly up early too.
I’ll catch up later ??

Gingster Fri 12-Nov-21 07:23:10

How do I do the strike-through? It never seems to work for me. ?

Aldom Fri 12-Nov-21 07:31:55

gMattie flowers. Thinking of you. It's very early days. So glad your grandson spent the night with you.

Marydoll Fri 12-Nov-21 07:33:06

Morning Mick and all from a showery Glasgow. GM, I'm another one, who had a dreadful night. Everything always seems worse at night.

Lovely to hear of all those seeing family. Last night DD and SIL appeared and decided to stay for dinner, when the found out home made chips were on the menu! Its a rare treat for us, strange how DD knew! She has an uncanny knack for turning up at just the right moment!

Yesterday's trip to LIDL nearly bankrupted us, when MrMDoll got a tad carried away in both the middle and beer aisles! I haven't seen a shop so well stocked in a long time, even the food aisle was bursting with items. Thanks to DH, our front garden is going to look like a tacky Santa's grotto, come Christmas. Of course its all for Dollie's benefit!
The highlight for me was the veggie box for £1.50, I reckoned that there was a least worth £10 of still fresh veggies there. ( Please ignore the messy kitchen ☺)

We also received yet another phone call from Dollie, this time telling us her mum and dad were going on a date (it was ok, because they were married) and (for the first time ever) could we pick her up from school today. My heart is bursting with joy.
She was most concerned that we wouldn't know the way, so proceeded to give us directions, from both her own home and ours.
She was so ingenuous and amazed to hear that my three children also went there and I too was in and out of her school when I was teaching. I used to support the staff in delivering French.
I cannot believe that my son and DIL are thawing at last, my son has also hinted that he would like to contact his sister. He has a lot of apologising to do there.
It is so difficult being a mum and stuck in the middle. My children were always so close, until the pandemic hit. ?

So many of our friends and their families, suffering on here. Sending healing vibes to them all, especially those who are bearing it silently in their hearts.
To the poster, who, unexpectedly PMd me yesterday, I was so delighted to hear from you and I hope to see you posting again very soon.

Wishing Soop a safe journey home today, after her hospital stay, not the best of roads to travel on in bad weather, with the added problem of closed roads, due Cop26. DD says it has been a nightmare to get across town to work.

The golfer has just come up to tell me his game has been cancelled, due to the bad weather. Oh blast, that's my empty gone!! Its downhill from now on! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans and fingers crossed for negative Covid tests.

brook2704 Fri 12-Nov-21 07:43:11

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks cloudy.
Sorry to hear L’il Miss has had a rotten night Urms poor lamb, hope she’s better soon
We’re doing the school pick up later today and bringing the DGC to us for Friday Pizzas and a sleepover tonight. DD2 and SiL are going Christmas shopping for their main presents and hoping to get them wrapped up and squirrelled away before they’re home tomorrow
I hope you enjoy your school pickup today too marydoll ? I’m sure you will!
Sounds like you’re in for a busy weekend mumofmadboys but I hope you enjoy seeing all the family
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning everyone from a dull start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. Where’s that beautiful morning sunshine I’ve been getting these past few days? I’m not kean to get up this morning I’ve had a restless night, that takes care of my afternoon rest today it’ll be napping time no doubt.

My lovely cleaner is coming today( I hope) she’s changed her routine because she’s got another job in Aldi’s or Lidl’s I can never remember which one. She says she gets better pay and conditions than her previous job at the garage. She fits us in when it suits that’s no problem to me as long as she comes once a week. The kitchen and bathroom is her main concern my dh cleans the rest of the house it’s a tidy compact house most of the time.

We popped off to our local armistice day service in the local village yesterday it was lovely to see so many folks there including the local primary school children and a man playing the bagpipes [ smile] I seem to remember in days gone by most Sunday services outside the church standing in the freezing rain however the sun sunshine shone yesterday.

I wonder what’s on the menu today I’ll need to forage in the fridgefreezer and see what needs to be thawedconfused

Have a good Friday everyone and enjoy your weekend get your warm togs on it’s going to be very cold, in fact I believe we may see the start of the snow shock
