Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Good Afternoon kitcheners, I have just finished writing our Christmas cards. It is cold wet and windy outside, glad I haven’t got to go out anymore today. Simple dinner of cold meat and chips (I know they are naughty, in my defence I have been to the gym earlier)

Keep nice and warm folks ???

soop Mon 06-Dec-21 15:11:58

Is that a towering mountain of ironing I see before me? Drat!

BladeAnnie Mon 06-Dec-21 14:48:11

Good afternoon lovely kitcheners - a most miserable day weather-wise ☂️?. I've just logged off the work laptop and thought I'd say a quick hello before we go off to take my.mum her shopping. I've got a handsome ginger boy on my purring hello to you all too ??. He's probably also saying "don't you go anywhere before giving me my tea"!! Have a pleasant rest of Monday whatever you might be up to

Just catching up with Kitchen news.
Dear Dogsmakemesmile, I am so sorry to read that you have lost your Dfather, sending love and prayers that you may find some comfort in memories of happy times with him.??? Take care.

Good morning from a sunny Cornwall. We are getting some very mixed days here.

Thank you for your new thread Urms. I keep coming through the door to read more about posters ?

188 donations now soop ?. You will soon reach the 200 mark ??. Really happy for you.

maddyone Your Sunday sounded family perfection but I hope your daughter in law visits next time with her GS.

MrM is in our new build and making head way with the boiler and then the water supply. This then means 2nd plumbing can go ahead. 2022 should see us in our new home. Many fingers crossed for this. I feel encouraged and sat for quite a while in the build yesterday, chatting to him as he worked. It seems a long time since I posted photos. As soon as there is order over there, I will snap a few.

No news from my DS but I keep sending him 'thinking of you" texts.

DD had a good but tiring phased return to work last week. This will continue for three months. The company she works for have been so supportive.

Take care kitcheners. I see all the Bara Brith has gone !

soop Mon 06-Dec-21 11:24:18

Dearest you lovely lot. I could NOT access GN yesterday afternoon. Well, I could BUT, I could NOT forward messages. The air was a strange shade of indigo blue.

I am so sorry to read your sad news, Dogsmakemesmile. I have sent you a private message. You have our love and we look forward to returning to the kitchen where you will receive heartwarming support.

Am still in my dressing gown. Have been trying to keep updated with the "Happy Christmas" campaign. From time to time my right hand goes into cramp-mode.

So much kindness in this world of ours. It is truly humbling. flowers

Thank you TillyTrotter, SueDomin, and Blossoming for your kind comments about my post about my mother in law. She was indeed a lovely lady.

Yesterday we hosted our two sons and their families for lunch and we had a lovely time. My husband played Christmas carols on the piano and we had a good sing. Old fashioned pleasures. But I do feel for our little nine year old grandson who misses having his cousins with us so much. Now he is the only child in most of our family gatherings, unless my daughter in law’s little grandson joins us, which does happen sometimes.

Mum’s care home should be opening up to visitors later this week as they have contained the Covid outbreak with the measures they have taken.

Have a happy day everyone.

Jaxjacky Sun 05-Dec-21 18:19:29

Bed, that’d be chewy! Beef!!

Jaxjacky Sun 05-Dec-21 18:10:43

We’ve just one two prizes in the meat draw at our local, not bad for £2, I can have a glass of wine now we’re home.
No presents wrapped here yet, we’ll both do it next weekend after we’ve had the grandchildren on Friday.
A pretty nothingey day today, MrJ ironed his numerous shirts, I’ve ordered us Christmas jumpers. Bed in slow cooker for after Dr Who.
Enjoy your evening all x

Urmstongran Sun 05-Dec-21 18:04:13

Sorry. Don’t know what happened there. I had an Error 504 message.

Urmstongran Sun 05-Dec-21 18:02:50

‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a lovely afternoon with my stepfather. He’s such a nice man - we are blessed to have him in our family. I’ve not seen him for days because of the horrid virus I had. Anyway we 3 sat in the bar downstairs. He enjoys company very much. I love that in a man approaching 90y.
We've eaten, he’s been taken home.
Life’s good.

If you might be interested, check out my new thread?
“Come on In”
I just thought it was a bit different. And inclusive ... we all need a bit of extra TLC at this time of year. x

The love shines through your post maddy, a sad day but hopefully some happy memories recalled too x

We had some very good family news late last night. Another of our lovely nieces and her husband are expecting their first baby next April. There has been so much sadness and loss recently, it’s good to hear of a happy event like this.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 05-Dec-21 11:40:14

Sending my condolences Dogsmakemesmile ???

No matter how old we are losing a parent is heartbreaking, it changes our world in a nanosecond.

Gagagran Sun 05-Dec-21 11:11:54

Sad news Dogsmakemesmile and I send my sincere condolences. flowers

My Mum died on 4 December 17 years ago and it cast a real pall over Christmas that year. She was 93 so had a good innings but it felt so odd being an orphan and I still miss her.

I have been wrapping presents this morning and think I am done! It always plays on my mind when I have them to do in case something happens and they need presenting early. Labelled , sorted into bags for the families and all the debris tidied away. DH is now preparing vegetables for our lunch while I have coffee and catch up on here.

So pleased to see Soop's fund creeping ever nearer the magic number. Good things do happen to good people sometimes and Soop is a prime example of that. She has struck a chord with so many people with her kindness, cheerfulness and positivity and deserves all this wholehearted support.

I think today will now be a lazy one after my efforts this morning have made my back ache!

maddyone Sun 05-Dec-21 11:01:06
