Hello, lovely Kitchen people, I've just been catching up on all your news, such a lot has happened since I left Chicago on Monday.
Soop, I'm delighted to read that your GFM page is now active, I'll be popping in there shortly. ? Things are moving along for you!
SueD, I'm sorry to read that you and yours have been badly affected by the storm, hoping and praying that all will be back to normal soon. You're right, there's no place like home.
Susan 56, lovely to hear that Barnaby enjoyed activities with his cousins. I love it when my DGC meet up, they live at opposite ends of the country so I treasure the times when they get together. ❤
Cornergran
glad you are feeling more like yourself today. I agree with gillgran, I think we are all a bit more easily upset these days, we're all a wee bit fragile and no wonder.
Urms, glad to hear that you're on the mend and reunited with your DGC. I was supposed to be picking up DGD from school today but I'm now isolating after my Day 2 PCR test, new regulations.
NannyT, hope Dcat is OK now and still has a few lives left! What a fright.
Dogs fingers crossed ?
GG13, wonderful news about your DDiL, such a relief for all your family.
Thanks to Jax, Maddyone, Muse and all the lovely Kitchen people who wished me well for my homeward journey.
We left my brother's home at lunchtime on Monday, around 7pm UK time and, after a chain of events that we could not have anticipated, finally arrived home at midnight last night, travelling for nearly 30 hours and spending much longer in airports, Chicago and Dublin, than desired. Back out to Glasgow City centre first thing this morning for our PCR tests. The testing centre is open 7 am till 7 pm, very busy with returning travellers following the new regulations.
We had a wonderful family reunion, but it's great to be back home!
