Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Charley, I have made the wild guess that it means NightNight, God Bless which was always said to me when I was young and a friend always says it to me if we speak on the phone at night.

A very late visit to the kitchen for me today - Tuesday so shopping to take to my mum and what with one thing and another here we are at almost bedtime ??. Sending hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort tonight and hope you all sleep well

Could somebody please explain to me what NNGB means? Afterwards I promise I will crawl into my hole because the weather is becoming colder and I hate cold weather.

Grandmabatty, slightly envious here of your goody bag, how thoughtful is that.
Urmstongran the first thing that broke the no taste with my post covid friend was mint sauce! Hope yours returns soon, it must be horrible, but glad you’re getting better ?.

Calistemon Tue 23-Nov-21 20:35:36

Good! Keep it up, can't beat an afternoon snooze [ smile]

Urmstongran Tue 23-Nov-21 20:30:07

soop

Thinking fondly of you all.

Grannmarie I had a crush on Dr Kildare. Now, I have a crush on the gorgeous detective acting in the P. D. James series. His name escapes me right this minute. I have brain fog!

Night night. Sleep tight. Until we meet again. smile moon

soop, he's mine, I saw him first ?
Bertie Carvel
So thoughtful, quiet, still as Dalgliesh. Roy Marsden did nothing for me.
The thinking woman's crumpet.

I have a few discarded pashes if you're interested!

Calistemon Tue 23-Nov-21 19:51:04

Rest, Urmstongran, rest!
You'll get better more quickly if you do

Every cloud, urms.

‘Evening All’.

Another quiet, resting day for me. My ‘pipes’ are still a bit wheezy and I still can’t taste or smell a thing.

But I have finished writing all my Christmas cards! Job done.

Jaxjacky Tue 23-Nov-21 18:58:37

Gosh, quiet in here.
Pleased you’re having a memorable time Grannmarie, Chicago was the first place in my numerous visits to the USA where I experienced the plane being de iced while I was in it.
Went to the local town today, I had to go to the bank, first time for well over a year, quick in and out, no shopping as I don’t need anything.
It’s cold here, 2deg, actually nice, I like seasons and the trees are spectacular this year.
On voluntary phone duty tomorrow, normal Wednesday.
Enjoy your evening all x

Soop, I'm so sorry to hear your day was spoiled. ?
Is it Roy Marsdon, who played Adam Dalgliesh?

I too was in love with Dr Kildare. However I have recently discovered a Turkish Surgeon, with brooding looks and a great physique! blush

Grandmajean Tue 23-Nov-21 16:41:19

I remember Dr. Kildare - was at school at the height of his fame and we girls all drooled over him. Does anyone remember another heart throb - Ben Casey ? He was gorgeous in a different way. Dark and brooding !

Am thinking of you too , Soop and am keen to support you whatever you decide to do.

It’s heartwarming to read of good news from Chicago and a surprise parcel through Grandmab ‘s letterbox in the kitchen today. We all need reasons to be cheerful don’t we? It’s as important as breathing to us.
Thinking of all. Have a nice evening. ?

What a wonderful surprise Grandmabatty and what a lovely thing for that author to do.

Grannmarie Tue 23-Nov-21 15:09:38

Dear Soop, so sorry you missed the taxi. If I see Dr Kildare I'll smuggle him back for you, he'll have you good as new in no time! Hoping and praying that things move forward quickly for you.???

Grandmabatty, you are on a roll, so many happy events! Enjoy your afternoon reading, that's my kind of treat. We've met a few crime writers at various events over the years, Christopher Brookmyre, Denise Mina, Val McDermid, Ann Cleeves..
I must try Patricia Cornwell. I do enjoy a good crime novel!

Lovely Kitchen ladies, I am very touched by all your kind messages. After the events of the last 20 months, and two Covid bereavements in our extended family, this wee family reunion is very special to us, I'm so thankful we've finally achievedi t. ???*TOYA * flowersflowersflowers

soop Tue 23-Nov-21 14:34:30

Grandmabatty How cooel is that. Photo of you wearing the cap, please. You are now destined to join our Kitcheners hall of fame. grin

SueDonim Tue 23-Nov-21 14:16:18

Oh my goodness, Grandmarie as I read your post about meeting your family my stomach did exactly the same kind of loop-the-loop as when we visit my son and family! I think I’m living vicariously through you today. grin

Grandmabatty Tue 23-Nov-21 13:39:40

Sounds like a great start to your holiday Grannmarie. A new grandson wasn't the only gift to arrive. One of my favourite authors, Patricia Cornwell, sent me a goodie bag which arrived from USA this morning. A bag, official cap so I can do autopsies ?, and a signed copy of her latest novel. I follow her on Twitter and we have conversed back and forth. Wasn't that a kind thing to do? I have had three lovely things happen since Friday so the universe is aligning in my stars or some such. I'm going to wash the floors and settle down to read this afternoon. I hope you all have a good day.

soop Tue 23-Nov-21 13:17:50

Grannmarie The taxi driver was delayed. hmm I couldn't join you in time for the flight. Have yourself a perfectly wonderful time. You deserve it. sunshine

Blossoming Tue 23-Nov-21 12:51:58

That’s wonderful Granmarie

Marydoll Tue 23-Nov-21 07:40:47

Granmarie ???????

Grannmarie Tue 23-Nov-21 04:39:30

BAflowers, SUEflowers, I hope you can both find some comfort in the memories of happy times with your dear sisters. I am very thankful to be sharing this special family reunion with my lovely sisters.

It's 10.30 pm in Chicago, 4.30 am UK time...its been a very long day!! Just realised we've been on the go for 24 hours, I'll sleep ?tonight. I dozed a bit on the plane.

Flights were fine, my brother was waiting for us in arrivals, so lovely to see him and DSiL, and their gorgeous labradoodle.
Lots of reminiscing over dinner and drinks, golf range then shopping outlets tomorrow!

Thank you all for your good wishes, TOYA, NNGB.
