Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Goodnight everyone. I’m in bed and the rain is hammering on the window. So glad you are warm SueD even though you’re not at home. Fingers crossed for power back on tomorrow for you.

Morning All. Thank you all for your kind messages, equilibrium was restored yesterday, the incident put firmly in its place.

Had great fun sorting Christmas decorations. As less is definitely more around here there are three bags for the charity shop on Friday, we’ll also take two good quality winter coats surplus to requirements. Somehow some lights found their way into the conservatory, yes I know it’s early but we both love them, they bring a smile. We plan what my lovely mother in law would have called a proper clean today before gradually installing our favourite Christmas items which hold so many good memories.

You’re right, sued, home is the best place. While being pleased and relieved you are warm I hope you can return very soon.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Clearer Cornish skies today. It was a real let down yesterday with the drizzle hardly stopping but with help we managed to get the log stores fully packed. I hear another cold spell is on its way. I'm spurred on to get the twinkly lights out too cornergran.

Hoping everyone has power back in their homes again and can return to them.

Is your cat tucked up warm back home now nannytopsy?

Hope the tests remain negative dogsmakemesmile.

It's lovely to have a chat with a GN poster Urms. I did that a month ago. I shall rush over to GM to read what you and EV talked about.

Good luck and hope all goes well with setting up the fundraising soop. I'm sure it will. Eager to make my donation

Hi kitcheners, as per usual I am so out of the loop with all your news.

I have extremely good news, our DiL’s tumour is benign and she has been given the all clear. The best Christmas gift for our family.

DH has just huffed and puffed bringing the decorations down from the attic. I now need to sort and start decorating the house (he does outside) then hopefully go and buy the real tree for the living room, and bring in the growing in a pot one for GC’s bedroom.

Have a good 1st December (((hugs))) ???

?

LauraNorderr Wed 01-Dec-21 13:29:57

Thank you so much Muse and Jax for making donating to Soops cause so easy.
I did as instructed, googled gofundme and typed in soop. Easy peasy. No need for pms and links.
So far there are lots of incredibly generous donations. Hope that doesn’t put off those with less to spare. Every penny counts so even if it’s £5 it will mean something and we can all choose to be anonymous.
Good luck soop.

Urmstongran Wed 01-Dec-21 13:59:28

Totally agree LauraNorder with how straightforward it all was to donate! I’m glad we didn’t have to go down the route of p.m’s and signalling ‘Merry Christmas’ that all sounded a bit convoluted. Actually I think that was mooted on ‘the other thread’. Anyway, good luck with your fundraising soop I hope you reach the amount you need.

Grandmajean Wed 01-Dec-21 14:12:56

It's going really well , Soop and I'm so pleased for you.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 01-Dec-21 14:22:25

Donated.

Not been posting due to major health issues with DH but have followed you all every day and am pleased to be able to offer support for our dear Soop.

Best regards to you all.

Hello, lovely Kitchen people, I've just been catching up on all your news, such a lot has happened since I left Chicago on Monday.

Soop, I'm delighted to read that your GFM page is now active, I'll be popping in there shortly. ? Things are moving along for you!

SueD, I'm sorry to read that you and yours have been badly affected by the storm, hoping and praying that all will be back to normal soon. You're right, there's no place like home.

Susan 56, lovely to hear that Barnaby enjoyed activities with his cousins. I love it when my DGC meet up, they live at opposite ends of the country so I treasure the times when they get together. ❤

Cornergran flowers glad you are feeling more like yourself today. I agree with gillgran, I think we are all a bit more easily upset these days, we're all a wee bit fragile and no wonder.

Urms, glad to hear that you're on the mend and reunited with your DGC. I was supposed to be picking up DGD from school today but I'm now isolating after my Day 2 PCR test, new regulations.

NannyT, hope Dcat is OK now and still has a few lives left! What a fright.

Dogs fingers crossed ?

GG13, wonderful news about your DDiL, such a relief for all your family.

Thanks to Jax, Maddyone, Muse and all the lovely Kitchen people who wished me well for my homeward journey.
We left my brother's home at lunchtime on Monday, around 7pm UK time and, after a chain of events that we could not have anticipated, finally arrived home at midnight last night, travelling for nearly 30 hours and spending much longer in airports, Chicago and Dublin, than desired. Back out to Glasgow City centre first thing this morning for our PCR tests. The testing centre is open 7 am till 7 pm, very busy with returning travellers following the new regulations.

We had a wonderful family reunion, but it's great to be back home!
