Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Love the trees GG13 thanks for sharing
Good news at the dentist cornergran so good when no treatment needed
Supper sounds good charley any room for one more?
I’ve been sneezing a bit this afternoon so thought I’d best do a lateral flow test seen as I’ve been travelling these last few days. Well it’s come back +ve so PCR test booked for the morning
Blumming heck that’s all I need …

Grandmabatty Tue 07-Dec-21 20:05:03

Brook ? and fingers crossed ?

Grannmarie Tue 07-Dec-21 20:05:34

Oh, Brook, fingers crossed ? the PCR is negative, what a worrying time for you. Thankfully the results seem to come pretty quickly these days.

Blossoming Tue 07-Dec-21 20:11:28

Good evening dear Kitcheners. My oomph seems to have deserted me today, I have pottered around the house listening to the wind howling and hoping nothing gets damaged. I managed to do my regular physio exercises and used my exercise bike so at least I have stuck to that part of my plan. It will be an early night for me, hope the wind isn’t too noisy!

Marydoll Tue 07-Dec-21 20:12:16

Brook fingers crossed for you. Not a nice end to your time away.
My DD and SIL have also tested positive. There was a problem getting the PCR results on Saturday, there was a delay at the lab, so don't worry if it takes a wee bit longer! Hopefully that situation has now been resolved.
SIL had not been anywhere for a week, apart from the vaccination centre and passed it on to DD.
It's scary.
However, they have been triple jagged and their symptoms are like having a bad cold. I hope it stays that way.

Good luck!

muse Tue 07-Dec-21 20:16:09

Good luck with the PCR test Brook. My DD's result took just under 48 hours.
??for you.

EnaSharples Tue 07-Dec-21 20:18:19

Thank you for the welcoming messages. I like your Christmas tree Grannygravy and a rum stollen sounds delicious Tillytrotter, I would be very happy to share your dentist Cornergran. I think I'm going to like it here. I'm feeling a bit tender after suffering a bit of a cold shoulder elsewhere today followed by a fauxpology turning the sympathy on to the person who caused the upset. A clever tactic often used to excuse rudeness.
I'm sitting in my lounge with a blanket round my knees that my grandmother used to use on her knees. It has more darns than original thread but I feel as though my granny is hugging me and keeping me warm.
Silly old me feeling a bit low at the moment. I'll be back to myself tomorrow I'm sure. Just a bit shellshocked.

brook2704 Tue 07-Dec-21 20:18:47

Thank you marydoll I’ve also had my 3 jags, the booster one just about 4 weeks ago now. Thanks for the heads up on the possible delay on the lab results
Hope your DD and SiL are ok, not good though that he possibly caught it at the vaccination centre

brook2704 Tue 07-Dec-21 20:19:45

Thanks muse

brook2704 Tue 07-Dec-21 20:21:59

And thanks too to grandmabatty and grannmarie

muse Tue 07-Dec-21 20:40:28

I hope you will be Ena but not a good feeling to go off to bed with. Please pm me if it helps.

Nannytopsy Tue 07-Dec-21 20:44:34

Best wishes for a mild dose Brook and a speedy recovery.
I love stollen - is there any left? Just a crumb?
Welcome Ena - soop will find you a tartan blanket. Is it tea or something stronger? After an enforced menu change on Sunday, we have just had Sunday dinner - delicious roast lamb.
I should be ironing …

Doodle Tue 07-Dec-21 20:51:05

Been away for a while so sorry no chance of catching up with everyone.
Welcome to Ena and any other newcomers I’ve missed.
Thinking of all who are ill and those recently bereaved. ?
So sorry for all affected by the storms and bad weather.
brook hope your PCR test is ok.
muse your porch looks lovely and welcoming. Hope your DS is doing ok.
Galen sorry to hear you’ve had another fall. Hope you are ok. Broken ribs are very painful. So you’re replacing Gary with a younger model…….does he do massage ?
TOYA (you too Urms ?) ??

Grannmarie Tue 07-Dec-21 20:51:48

Hello again, lovely Kitchen people, I hope Storm Barra isn't affecting you too badly. We've got howling wind and rain in Lanarkshire, but thankfully no sign of snow and ice.?

Welcome, Ena, I'm sure you'll feel better in Soop's Kindly Kitchen.

Glad you're on the mend, Grandmabatty, and able to enjoy twice as many cuddles with your wee grandsons.

GG13 and Muse, what clever hands you both have, the trees and the wreath are beautifully assembled and decorated.

Thank you, Tilly, for the stollen, much appreciated! I realised at the weekend that I had forgotten all about my usual weigh in at SW on Thursday, oh well I'm a lost cause till the new year nowshock.

That's a very posh supper for a Tuesday, Charleygirl, are you celebrating? Enjoy!

Marydoll, I'm sorry to hear about your DD and SiL, hoping and praying that they recover quickly with no lasting effects.

I've made a big pot of chicken broth, with chichen thighs ....it'll see us through the storm. I hope everyone is comfy and cosy , especially Maddy.

TOYA, NNGB. ???

annodomini Tue 07-Dec-21 20:54:32

Tillytrotter, rum stollen! Just what the doctor didn't order! I could get addicted. I bought a box of stollen bites on Sunday and selflessly gave it away to a friend. Tomorrow I think I'll visit Aldi!
EnaSharples - great name! Welcome- you will find nothing but good will and friendship here. smile

SueDonim Tue 07-Dec-21 20:57:59

Welcome, Ena. Your name brings back memories. My grandad lived with us when I was a child and I was allowed to stay up half an hour longer if I sat quietly with him to watch Coronation Street. smile

The past few hectic weeks have caught up with me and I’m not very good company at the moment, I am sorry to say. Storm Barra is making its presence felt right now and the flickering lights are unnerving me. I’m done with living without all mod cons!

No home bakes, but there’s a big packet of Twix on the table. Help yourselves! Xx

brook2704 Tue 07-Dec-21 21:06:37

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling that great SueD it’s perfectly understandable though after everything you’ve been through. Everything crossed that Storm Barra won’t cause any significant problems ?

Lizzie72 Tue 07-Dec-21 21:13:54

Hope you feel more cheerful after a good night’s sleep, Ena. Sounds like you’ve got the measure of GN.

kittylester Tue 07-Dec-21 21:15:37

Just popping in with gf mince pies for those if us who are not keen on Stollen.

Hope your ribs are OK now galen.

Jaxjacky Tue 07-Dec-21 21:16:47

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 07-Dec-21 21:21:23

Enasharples sorry you are feeling so low at the moment, maybe when you are feeling better you might reread this mornings thread and realise that the apology was sincerely meant and that no offence was intended.
Oh, who ate the last mince pie………

Urmstongran Tue 07-Dec-21 21:23:21

‘Evening All’.

I’ve had a lovely day. Lunch with friends then at 6pm - in the bar downstairs with Himself. We shared a bottle of wine and mulled over things. This time of year is often a time for reflection don’t you fine?

Loved your trees GG13 very beautiful.

EnaSharples as a fellow Manc I just love your name! Come on in, pull up a chair and feel cosseted in soops. She is the matriarch of this kitchen, welcomes everyone with open arms (and cake - plus a comfy cushion) and doesn’t allow any upsets in this safe haven. You’re a friend now amongst many. Welcome indeed.

Hi Doodle ? missed you. x

EnaSharples Tue 07-Dec-21 21:23:49

I watched Corrie with my granny Suedonim and I still do sometimes although I think its lost its authenticity. I hope your power stays on and the storm passes quickly. Im going to shuffle off to bed now. I will sleep well after such a pleasant evening with you all.

Urmstongran Tue 07-Dec-21 21:37:49

I too watched Corrie back in the day when it was in grainy black and white, only aired on a Monday & Wednesday for half an hour, with Albert Tatlock in the Rovers Return with Elsie Tanner, Ena, Minnie Caldwell and Martha Caldwell gossiping and drinking milk stout in the snug. Ken Barlow, Len Fairclough, Ernie Bishop .... I remember watching them all. Who would have thought 50 odd years on it would still be popular eh?

Nannytopsy Tue 07-Dec-21 21:45:32

I used to watch black and white Coronation St too! So many years ago!
Love your wreath Muse
Not too stormy here but lots of helicopters practising low flying! ?
Night night all
