Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Bellasnana

If all soop’s friends donated what they could afford, I’m certain we could come up with the goods. Crowd funding is nothing to be sniffy about, instead of sending flowers or whatever, we send a donation. I’m ready and willing.

Well said Bellasnana. ✅

‘Evening All’.

I think I’m with others here tonight dear soop.
Discuss your options next week with your GP.
Hope NHS Scotland can come up with the goods.

If not, I like GG13’s idea of crowdfunding.

I for one would happily contribute.
As, I imagine, would many of your friends on here.

Time to plan a course of action dear lady.
Sending my best wishes.

And Panache. That’s a poignant read.
How are you? Do share.
You are amongst friends and we care. Very much. x

cornergran Sun 14-Nov-21 20:01:01

Thank you for clarifying marydoll. A real blow for sure.

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 14-Nov-21 19:56:54

Panache I am sorry you are troubled with ill health worries.
Marydoll hope you feel better every day.
Good evening kitcheners. So glad I have met you. x

Grannygravy I hope soop isn’t upset by the idea but I think it’s a good one. If there is anyone who is in need of help after all she’s been through then it is soop.
If soop would agree I’m sure many would support the idea.
Any ideas how it works?

Dear soop I can’t imagine what your days are like trying to cope with this distressing problem. All a result of what has been done to you in the past. Much love to your and MrSoop

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 14-Nov-21 19:46:58

soop so sorry you seem to have reached an impasse. You do not deserve this. Grannygravy has had a great idea but not sure if you would feel able to do it. I am not aware of the logistics of crowdfunding but others will. I am sorry I do not really know the whole backstory. I must say I am in awe of your tenacity and positivity. Please look after yourself and allow MrSoop to look after you. All these messages should reinforce how highly people think of you. x

Brilliant idea Grannygravy

Nannytopsy Sun 14-Nov-21 19:04:15

Yup.

Dearest soop have you thought of go fund me page? It’s worth a try (((hugs)))

TillyTrotter Sun 14-Nov-21 18:46:50

Oh soop you’ve had such a harrowing few days.
When you gather your thoughts only you can decide the next course to take.
Life is never easy is it?
We will all be supporting you
and I send love and best wishes pronto. ?

Nannyfaraway Sun 14-Nov-21 18:43:15

Sorry to hear your news Soop. But welcome home and back to your kitchen

Nannytopsy Sun 14-Nov-21 18:26:01

Oh soop you know how we all feel and we know how disappointing the news must have been. Anyone out there with a lottery win?!
Best wishes to you and mrsoop.

Marydoll Sun 14-Nov-21 18:23:35

I hope Soop doesn't mind me saying. There seems to be a bit of confusion here. Having spoken to Soop, the private op is a different procedure from the NHS alternative.
The surgeon only works privately and is the only surgeon who can do the particular op. Soop longs for.
It's awful, that this op is not available on the NHS and the cost is so prohibitive.

lavenderzen Sun 14-Nov-21 18:20:10

I am sorry things have been so disappointing for you Soop. I hope some resolution can be found flowers

Bellanonna Sun 14-Nov-21 17:56:08

I was thinking that too, Charleygirl. I’m sure, in spite of the awful waiting lists, someone could influence fast tracking, especially given the poor treatment soop has received for so long.
soop when you feel able to, do please go to your GP and see if he/she can put some pressure somewhere for you to be seen earlier. Meanwhile lots of love to you, you deserve so much more. ?

Charleygirl5 Sun 14-Nov-21 17:48:56

dragonfly it is a good idea but the problem is soop would have to change consultants and nobody is going to go ahead and do the surgery without carrying out their own examination and tests and it all costs money.

The only way I think is when she feels better is to see her GP face to face, with a pre-planned list of why she should be fast-tracked. Number 1 on the list would be the appalling treatment and end result when soop had the original surgery. soop should not have to pay privately for the incompetence of the NHS.

Panache I am so sorry to hear you have health problems again.

cornergran Sun 14-Nov-21 17:32:07

Oh blimey soop, a huge amount of money. It makes me very cross that the NHS wouldn’t offer the surgery pretty quickly. You’ve suffered for too long, surely that should be a factor in decision making. Relax this evening with mr soop, you two deserve some peaceful time.

We’re still pretty chilled after our very enjoyable few days away with good friends. I’m delighted to report we’ve managed to find a day in December when the whole family can be together. We’re not a big family, somehow getting everyone in the same place at the same time is both stressful and incredibly hard work. A big smile here with fingers crossed nothing comes along to scupper it,

I’m sorry you’ve problems panache, sending love.

Take care everyone. TOYA.

silverlining48 Sun 14-Nov-21 17:18:51

Soop So very sorry to hear your news. How disappointing and such a worry. I am in a similar situation, needing surgery but 6 million patients are already in the queue so like you am having to consider paying because I don’t want to waste what is left of my active years hobbling around in pain. I send my best wishes and hope you get this resolved soon.

Marydoll hope you are on the mend. Labyrinthitis is horrible.

dragonfly46 Sun 14-Nov-21 17:17:39

Just a thought soop but would it be worth getting a quote for the operation at Nuffield or the Spire in England. It maybe cheaper.

So sorry to hear you are having health problems again Panache. I hope they can be resolved and you have the strength to carry on. Sending you much love and hugs.

muse Sun 14-Nov-21 17:02:40

Such a difficult decision for you both soop. I was pleased to read how caring the hospital were.

Lovely to hear from you Panache but saddened to see you have a health problem ?. I do hope it is something you can break free from.

Sar53 Sun 14-Nov-21 16:57:44

I'm so sorry to hear your news Soop. I know it is not what you wanted to hear and my heart goes out to you.
My very best wishes to you and MrSoop for whatever you decide to do in the future xxx

brook2704 Sun 14-Nov-21 16:53:02

Sending you much love and support soop your quality of life is paramount and you deserve to thoroughly enjoy your time together with mrsoop
I can only hope the NHS consultant understands how badly you need this operation and comes up with an acceptable timescale.
Biggest hugs ❤️

Grandmajean Sun 14-Nov-21 16:49:45

I am really sorry to hear your news Soop
I thought if the surgery was recommended by a private consultant after an investigation then he could pass you back to the NHS to have it done. I didn't realise there would be another long wait. I suppose I should have understood that that would be the case.
I do hope you can sort out a solution.
Love and good wishes.❣️

dragonfly46 Sun 14-Nov-21 16:48:19

Dearest soop I am so sorry that the solution is not simple but at least there is a solution and your quality of life can be restored. I really hope you can find it. £25,000 seems a lot for what should be a straight forward op. It would be good if NHS Scotland could pull out all the stops and get you to the top of that list.
