Hoping no-one else has done this.
We need to get things organised for soop's return.

GG please may I ask where on earth do you find all of those clothes and bedding which need to be ironed? I have not picked up an iron for many years. My bedding may be slightly crumpled when I change it but one night with me tossing and turning it looks perfectly okay the following morning. I would not buy a silk blouse but I also would not buy a polyester one!
Half way through the mount Everest of ironing when on the off chance I rang the local ironing service and for the first time in over a year they answered the phone - yippee they are picking up the bedding tomorrow.
DD is off to the dentist to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed so I have The Imp and the 6yr old for what we call the naughty hour something easy for their dinner I think.
Will hopefully catch up later.
Oh no your poor DGD grandmajean I hope she’s not too poorly and the rest of the family are ok too
I hope your DS gets in touch muse I know it’s always a worry when they don’t. Out of my three my DS is the best and always messages straight back when I contact him. My 2 DDs are different, the eldest one usually messages in the evenings but not every day and the younger one can go a few days without getting in touch, unless she needs something of course. Almost all our communication is via what’s app these days although I do usually get a weekly video char with DS
Enjoy your meal out BA and easy on the ironing nannytopsy ?
Good afternoon everyone! Good news about Friday soop ?.
Thanks Ena - I’m very fond of lemon drizzle!
I’m ironing this afternoon ?
Hello lovely kitcheners - a quick hello from me and a sleepy Duncan (look at the size of that paw!!). I love lemon drizzle cake but I'll be good and not have any as we are meeting friends for a meal at 5pm. So just finished work and going to jump (not literally) into the shower. Enjoy the rest of Wednesday
You’ve passed the 200 donation mark soop. ?. Hope that call on Friday gives you the answers you want. ?
Just back from waking Mya?? so now a few muddy prints to get off the tiles. She is quicker through the door than me.
I’ll still keep my ?*brook*.
No news from DS ?
I have helped myself to the lemon cake Ena That will cheer me up no end. Thank you. Pleased to see your posts here today and that low feeling is lifting . I hope you’re still wrapped up in the blanket ?. Freezing cold in Cornwall. As others have said, no ignoring posters here in the kitchen.
I’m attempting to get some tiny lights onto a tree that’s about 30cm tall ???. You all might get a photo if I succeed.
Sorry Ena
Good progress then Soop
Your fund is doing really well. Not far to go.
We have the first case if Covid in our family - six year old GD. Rest of household awaiting results of PCR tests.
I'll have a slice of lemon drizzle if any left "Ena*
You’re definitely making progress soop good to get things ticked off your list - a big day on Friday with the consultants call, hope it’s a very good outcome
Thank you for the lemon drizzle ena it’s delicious
Thank you everyone for your kind messages about my PCR test - I’m awaiting the results now but suspect it’ll be positive as I’ve done two lateral flow tests already and they’re both positive. I’ve only mild symptoms though so if it stays that way I’ll be considering myself very lucky.
The testing experience at the drive through test centre at Inverness university campus was very well organised, like a military operation with the process being managed by driving from one bay to the next - the first to register, second to get the kits, third bay to do the test etc. Everything done whilst sat in the car, and the car window lowered just a few inches to receive and return the test kits. It was quite a strange experience really but life as it is now so we have to just get on with it
Good news about your friend singingnutty I hope it’s the same here and hope your DD and DGS are ok too jax and your plans are not too disrupted
I’m not going anywhere for a while now so I’m going to put some Christmas music on in the kitchen and have a lazy afternoon by the fire
I love cake, thank you Ena.
Gosh you’re popular soop!
Thank you Ena I’m off out to lunch in a minute, I’ll take a small piece for later if I may. I’m not a big cake eater, but I’ll manage this once ?
Ena I bags a big slice. Lemon drizzle cake is a great favourite of mine.
Audio appointment this afternoon. NHS is treating me to upgraded hearing aids. I'm chuffed.
Tomorrow...appointment with the dentist...eeek!
Friday, chat with the drop bot surgeon. It's all go.
Thankyou Cornergran Maddyone JaxJacky and everyone for your kindness and understanding. Let me repay you with a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake to have after your lunch.
No way does anyone get ignored in this kitchen ES, I’ll make you a cuppa and rummage for biscuits, bound to be some.
Ena we won’t ignore you, we’ll wrap our arms around you, metaphorically speaking of course.
Hello, how are you today? Thank you for the welcome welcomes iyswim. It was nice to have a little chat about Coronation Street on the grainy b&w telly. I hope you dont think I am like Ena Sharples in the photo Urmstongran showed. The name was from a cat we had who was a bit cranky but I'm not like that I'm more of a wimp which is why I take things to heart. We had two cats called Minnie and Martha and now we have Deidre and Blanche.
I didn't sleep well thinking about the first impression I made on here I'm usually more jolly.
My first husband was a narcissist he used to give the impression he was badly done to always in pain but very brave and everyone used to refer to him as poor Ed. There wasnt even anything wrong with him physically. In company he belittled me very subtly and behind closed doors he was very nasty and controlling. I think that has made me too sensitive to other things.
There I go moaning again I'm sorry but I am feeling very low and have been trying not to bottle things up you can just ignore me if you want to.
A warm welcome to Oopsadaisy1 Come on in and join the gang. The more the merrier.
Ena I hope that you have shrugged off yesterday's unpleasantness. Plenty of kindness to share with this lot.
Dear Galen Healing hugs.
Lizzie72 You are most welcome. I seem to recall that you have visited the kitchen before.
Marydoll lots of love and hoped for good news.
Welcome singingnutty, lurk ye not. Come on in and join the rest of the gang. We are a friendly lot.
Welcome Ena I hope tomorrow will be a better day for you.
We’re keeping warm here without the noise as we have a gas fire in the living room. Only a little fan heater upstairs but it takes the chill off. Luckily one of the showers is electric so we can keep clean.
brook and others who have taken a PCR. I hope it’s negative but if not I hope it’s mild.
Good night everyone, sleep well.
Good luck and a wish for a calm night winging your way sued, you don’t need another power cut.
Fingers crossed for all waiting PCR tests. If positive I hope mild symptoms.
Put the whatever it was behind you ena, tomorrow is another day not touched as my Mum was fond of saying. I understand sometimes we don’t shrug things off. I had a rl upset recently, lots of kindness was shown here, the next day I could feel resilience returning and now the upset is firmly in the past. I hope the same for you. .
There are hailstones battering the window, thunder and lightning just a little while ago. I’m more than pleased I’ve had no need to be out this evening. Time to try for sleep now.
Sleep well everyone.
Granmarie it was not a case of a bit of a posh supper for a Tuesday. For various reasons I have not been out shopping for a few days so it was a case of raking around to find what is available. I am just as likely to have biscuits and cheese and zilch else on a Saturday evening and occasionally I have had a bowl of cereal. I live on my own so I really do not care what I have to eat or when!
I've been lurking outside the Kitchen door but following what's happening with you all. I'm just popping in for a minute to tell brook that I was talking to a friend tonight who's just had Covid (and is triple jabbed) and she said it was no worse than a bit of a cold for three days. I know it's not like that for everyone but if it is Covid fingers crossed for you brook that it will be mild.
Such pretty trees GG13 ours arrives Friday and the decoration will be far less elegant. We’re awaiting PCR results from DD and DGS, hoping, as I do for you, negative brook. We’ve had no contact for a couple of weeks, but DD due to be in London for the weekend, GC’s here.
I really hope you escape lightly SueD, enough is enough.
A warm welcome to this comfortable, gentle kitchen EnaSharples, sleep well.
And hopefully you’re recovering Galen damaged ribs are unexpectedly painful and seem to take ages to heal.
Sleep tight all x
