Good morning all

I took ill during my shift at the charity shop yesterday. Passed out & was ambulanced to hospital. Turned out after investigation to be a stomach bug, they said my blood pressure plummeted before the symptoms started. I became really ill yesterday but was allowed to come home late last night. I don’t think they wanted someone with a horrendous stomach bug on the ward.

My poor family were so frightened. DH was attending an appointment so the shop manager rang my daughter and told her I was unresponsive but breathing which was the case but must have been so shocking for her. My son came as quickly as he could by train.

It’s hard to believe that it was caused by a stomach bug but all tests came back normal. I’m so relieved as in the moments before blacking out I thought something dreadful like a stroke or heart attack was happening to me.

I’m home and in bed

Good morning from the River Lark in East Anglia. It is a glorious morning here. The ducks and a pair of Canadian geese have visited for a snack...they know I always have something for them. A lazy day for me I think.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 17-Nov-21 11:03:40

Sunshine this morning, after a few dull days. The washing is drying. I'm going out to buy another pot of paint as the first coat isn't very good.

Blossoming Wed 17-Nov-21 10:27:31

Good morning all from a cloudy Lancashire. Not much planned for today. I had quite a good sleep, the new painkillers seem to be working. I shall rest my foot again today. Hope you all have a peaceful day.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 17-Nov-21 10:20:40

grannysomerset your feelings are natural, but he will settle.
I'm so sorry you've had bad news Hulahoop flowers

hollysteers Wed 17-Nov-21 10:20:00

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Lancashire coast. I hope your cottage pie turns out well.
Out again today to lunchtime concert. I have a lot of gadding about once more, which is cheery, but can get tiring. I wish I could also just put my coat on and walk out of the front door, but no, I have to make an effort, so that’s a bit of a faff.
I wore a fitted skirt for the first time yesterday which had been languishing in the wardrobe (now a floordrobe) Tricky to put together as it has a deep frill like hem. But with suede kitten heel boots, it worked.
Thoughts to grannysomerset harrigran and anyone with worries.
Will read through later.

Good Morning from Sunny Harrogate
It's about time there was another cafe at the Cathedral EkwaNimitee, hope it's as atmospheric as the last one!! Not sure if I am going to mange a trip to Carlisle before Xmas , meeting my friend. Her trains are a bit difficult and we might end up meeting in Edinburgh, which could be a bit too crowded for my liking just now.
Yesterday managed a trip to Aldi and had a good rummage. Today hoping to go to the antique market to get a locket for DGDs christening in December. DD2 is buying her a jewellery box for Xmas so that should tie in quite nicely.
Hope everyone has a really good day today.

brook2704 Wed 17-Nov-21 10:05:39

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and dry just now.
Oh hulahoop I’m sorry to hear it’s not the best news, I hope there’s a plan in place that will help. Please don’t hesitate to come back on here for support whenever needed ?
It’s such a difficult time grannysomerset I hope that when you visit your DH this afternoon he’s settled in a bit better.
A late post from me as we had the DGC staying over last night and it’s been a busy morning so far. Anyhow I’m back from the school run, the washer is on, I’ve got my much needed coffee and toast and I’m just catching up on here.
Hoping all goes well tomorrow for your DS and DiL grandmadinosaur and you’ve happy news to report soon
BlueSapphire I’ve got really happy memories of visiting Chatsworth House with DD1 in the past, we enjoyed a really posh afternoon tea there once on my birthday. I’d love to go again you’ve prompted me to book a trip there sometime!
Hoping your day gets better Scentia
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Wed 17-Nov-21 10:04:48

Hulahoop I am so sorry to hear it was not good news.
I know exactly how you feel but I just want to assure you it does get better.
Feel free to PM me if you wish to talk.

dragonfly46 Wed 17-Nov-21 10:02:52

Good morning from and almost sunny Leicestershire.

Dog walking and meeting friends for tea and cake today.

I know how you feel GrannySomerset. My Mum was just the same but she did settle and eventually loved being looked after by the carers there. At first she would not let them near her but that soon changed as she got to know them.
It meant that instead of me resenting all the work I had to do I could go and enjoy the visits without worrying about the day to day care. The carers are very experienced in dealing with people like your DH and as they are not emotionally involved they do it much better than I could.

Of course I felt guilty as I felt I should have been able to cope but that wore off too as I saw how she smiled at the carers and interacted with them.

Be kind to yourself and get yourself better. Sending you hugs.

hulahoop Wed 17-Nov-21 10:01:43

grannygravyI hope Mr G settles and you Get some peace of mind .

Good morning,

Greyduster is correct with the weather forecast - it all looks much better than the drear of yesterday.

Ironing on the agenda, plus a little tidying in the garden. I think I’ll do the gardening jobs first.

Enjoy Chatsworth today, BlueSapphire. It’s years since I went and thoroughly enjoyed it - the house always looks beautiful, especially when decorated for Christmas. They tend to have a theme - I don’t what it is this year.

What a pretty decoration, grandMattie. I might have a try.

Take care everyone, and ? to those of you struggling with health and other issues.
