Good morning from E Kent where it is still dark. We are promised a little ☀️ today, yay!
Those of you who have been holding your breaths as to what a “Danish Christmas tree” is, well the photo answers your question!
Just the laundry and a bit of sewing today. A friend’s birthday tomorrow, so I’m making her a tote with a large daisy appliquéd on it. Can’t decide whether to use funky colours or natural ones.
Yesterday, DD was at Westminster Abbey to be inducted by PoWales into the General Synod which takes place at the moment. She is one of 3 clergy representing Bristol diocese.
GS I hope the transfer of your DH to respite care is going to be a success. jax and family, Marydoll and everyone needing my thoughts and prayers…

Carpe diem ???☀️❤️??

Pantglas2 Wed 17-Nov-21 06:19:09

Morning Mick from a celebrating north Wales ??????? where we achieved the hatrick with our third sporting win in a week, last night ⚽️ Little Wales eh!

Trotting off to Llandudno for my booster this afternoon and that’ll be me sorted for any heeby jeebie ?!

My Dad is calling this morning with his empty Xmas hamper which I replenish each year as his present, with home made jams, pickles, curds & chutneys, mince pies and bara brith. Add some posh cheese, crackers and choccies and he’s a very happy bunny on Xmas morning!

Sorry to hear about your FIL Jax and hope GrannySomerset will get used to the strangeness of not having DH home ? take care all those under the weather x

Pantglas2 Wed 17-Nov-21 06:26:55

That decoration is beautiful GrandMattie- you’re a talented lady!

Just read my post back and in my excitement at Wales footballers qualifying for the World Cup playoffs next March I said they won when they only drew against the mighty Belgium ??! Feels like a win to me ?

Beechnut Wed 17-Nov-21 06:41:00

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dark and damp outside.

A morning of pottering and then go out for an hour or so this afternoon. I think I’ll do a jacket potato and prawns to tickle my taste buds today.

A lovely decoration Mattie. Is it card or stiffened fabric?
Sending my condolences to you JaxJacky and your family ?

Thinking of you too GrannySomerset and MrGS. ?Life can certainly through us some challenges.

Take care all ???

BlueSapphire Wed 17-Nov-21 06:46:25

Good morning everyone from a dry and still dark Northampton. Hoping it stays that way a bit further north as I am off on a day trip with friends today to Chatsworth House. Over 20 years since I last went. I am especially looking forward to seeing the house dressed for Christmas. There are also Christmas markets, so I may be able to pick up a few things. Just grabbing a piece of toast to fortify myself for the journey.

Was feeling rather down yesterday, so am am glad I made myself go on a health walk in the afternoon. Did me good to be in company in the fresh air, and I really enjoyed the coffee and chat afterwards.

Wishing all a good day.

kittylester Wed 17-Nov-21 06:46:31

Good morning all from a dark and not cold North Leicestershire.

Today it is the final session of the current Carer's course and we try to make it all about them. So, I have a chocolate cake with salted caramel butter cream, paper plates etc to take with me.

The tiler is still here and we have DD1 and family coming for tea. An early night beckons.

grandMattie Wed 17-Nov-21 06:46:46

Beech, it’s card covered with fabric over the top only. It’s terribly easy to make.

Scentia Wed 17-Nov-21 06:50:34

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cool.
I woke at 4am having done something to my right knee in my sleep!! It ruddy kills. I just get rid of one pain and another comes along just to stop me in my tracks ?
I have a full day at work as well, I’m sitting down on the job today!!
DD MiL is awaiting a PCR result after a +LF yesterday. If that is +tive I will have to take the children on Friday as well as Thursday so will be at the factory on Saturday I shouldn’t wonder!
I am in a right miserable mood, sorry if that comes across this morning. Even the queen of smiles can’t find one today?

Urmstongran Wed 17-Nov-21 06:55:24

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s still dark and damp outside from the heavy rain we had during the night.

Off at noon to pick up my stepfather for a small grocery shop at M&S then onto eat lunch somewhere. He is our social secretary so he chooses where we go.

The grandchildren’s swimming lessons have now been switched to a Thursday as this is more convenient for the family if we are in Spain.

My cough didn’t bother me during the night and I slept well thankfully, but this morning I have a headache and a chesty cough. I will keep dosed up and wrapped up today. And will wear a mask when in the supermarket & wherever we go for lunch even though it’s not mandatory so that I don’t spread my germs.

Enjoy Wednesday all who can. x

GrannyGravy13 Wed 17-Nov-21 07:09:27

Morning all

It’s still dark here in S E Essex.

Bedding change first thing and then if I feel ok I shall go to the gym. Trying to get back into my usual routine.

Beautiful decimation grandMattie , hope your knee improves Scentia . I do hope you haven’t got the super cold Urmstongran as it’s horrible to shift.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Ashcombe Wed 17-Nov-21 07:12:18

Good morning, all, from Torbay where it's mild and dry.

Condolences to JaxJacky and thoughts with GrannySomerset, hoping yesterday wasn’t as difficult as you feared. A new chapter in life always means a time of adjustment but the chance for you to take care of yourself whilst knowing DH is being cared for, too. Thoughts with you both.

I went to see Six last night, which was interesting! They covered the historical side well and the girls were talented performers but I must have been one of the oldest there! It was more like a rock concert than a traditional theatrical experience. Now I sound old!

A walk always lifts my spirits, BlueSapphire and your plans for today sound like a perfect start to Christmas!

Happy hump day! ?????

Urmstongran Wed 17-Nov-21 07:13:16

Hmm. I fear you could be right there GG13. I think I’ve caught it from L’il Miss as I have been up close and personal for several days minding her while she’s been off school.

Stilllearning Wed 17-Nov-21 07:14:06

Morning from S Lanarkshire where it’s still dark. I may have another snooze before tackling the day.

Exercise class then coffee and chat this afternoon and a couple of hours housework before that so I can blether with a clear conscience!

Condolences to Jaxjacky and family and supportive thoughts to exhausted GrannySomerset and wishing everyone a good day.

Jaxjacky Wed 17-Nov-21 07:17:12

Good morning all from a dry S Hants, no frost.
Love that decoration grandMattie and you must be very proud of your DD, I would be.
An excellent result for Wales Pant tbh most would have expected a Belgian win ?. I hope your day improves Scentia?
Washing today and some admin. MrJ flies to Belfast tomorrow for funeral Saturday. Your kind thoughts are much appreciated.
Thinking of others, especially GrannySomerset ??

Urmstongran Wed 17-Nov-21 07:21:40

Jaxjacky. ?

Greyduster Wed 17-Nov-21 07:30:45

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s shaping up to be a lovely South Yorkshire day weatherwise. The gas man cometh early today to clean and service our gas fire, and then later this afternoon DH has the opticians appointment that they cancelled last week. While he is there I will do a bit of shopping.
Hope the day is kind to one and all.

Sar53 Wed 17-Nov-21 07:31:10

Good morning from a dry, not too cold Essex by the sea.
Dental visit yesterday was fine, he was Irish and a really lovely man.
Housework for me today and some cross stitch later.
Ash, I went to see SIX a few weeks ago with my daughter and granddaughter and we all thought it was great fun.
Condolences to Jax and family.
Have a pleasant Wednesday everyone xx

Marydoll Wed 17-Nov-21 07:35:24

Good morning Mick all, from a chilly Glasgow.

Thanks GM for thinking of me, I envy your skills.

Nothing to report and nothing planned, apart from having a hem to unpick and redo. Heaven knows what I did, it is so uneven! Thats what happens when you try to watch You Tube and sew at the same time!

Sending my best wishes to all, who are suffering and carrying a heavy burden.
GrannySomerset, I hope yesterday wasn't too stressful and your DH is comfortable.
Urms, I have had that cough for months, it's exhausting and people keep giving me dirty looks. I may pin a sign to me saying, I DO NOT HAVE COVID!
At least masks are still compulsory here.

Have the best day you can, everyone.

Pittcity Wed 17-Nov-21 07:44:40

Good morning from a grey, breezy Cornwall.
Yesterday's walk was cut short by rain, so we went for a drive and bought local cheese for tea.
Off to find a farmer's market this morning.
Photo of the beach yesterday.

Lots of love to all ? x

Grandmajean Wed 17-Nov-21 07:46:59

Good morning all.
Bluesapphire Chatsworth is a fabulous place , especially at Christmas.
Love the tree ,GrandMattie - have never seen a Danish Christmas ?.
Just about light now here.
Think Cancer research shop today for Christmas cards.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 17-Nov-21 07:49:25

Good morning all from East Yorkshire where it is a brighter morning.

grandmattie what a lovely decoration. Where I live there is a Danish church who always holds a Christmas Fair in Nov selling a lot of the traditional decorations etc.

bluesapphire enjoy your day at Chatsworth - I am very envious. We usually visit the Christmas market there but not to be this year due to other commitments sadly.
Yesterday had a lovely chat at coffee morning afterwards I went to a close by shopping area and had a browse in Lidl.

After school dgs was like a Duracell bunny! If only I had so much energy. We had A place in the sun on Tv ( never miss it) and one of the properties had a large garden. I commented that you could put a pool in there to which he replied Yes it’s better than yours ? ( Garden that is not pool. Not so lucky!)
Today I am having a quietish day as dgs is here on a sleepover . DS has to be at the hospital at 7 tomorrow morning for the arrival of our new grandchild. It has been a difficult pregnancy it will be a big relief when baby is here.
* Urms* hope you feel better soon. Would a whisky, honey and lemon ease symptoms. That’s our excuse!
Thoughts to Granny Somerset *
Take care all.

Marydoll Wed 17-Nov-21 07:49:38

Pitt that photo would make a lovely painting.
Enjoy the farmer's market! ?

cornergran Wed 17-Nov-21 07:51:22

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks like a sunny morning for our corner of Somerset. May ditch the planned admin and go walkabout after the grocery delivery.

A frustrating visit to audiology for Mr C yesterday. Their new improved system means the staff can no longer book follow up appointments, he needs a frequency test. He has to wait for a letter which will come in about a month inviting him to make an appointment. Surely an increase in NHS cost? On the positive side his hearing aids no longer fall apart.

Hope yesterday wasn’t too difficult grannysomerset, thinking of all facing difficult days. Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
