I have noticed that Camilla is walking behind Charles is this correct as he isn’t King?

Does anyone 'choose' to go through a difficult marriage? I'd always thought that people go into them full of positive hope for the future.

The Oxford dictionary describes 'shame' as A painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behaviour.
or
A regrettable or unfortunate situation or action.

I don't think it's anything to do with something happening outside of someone's control.

Much as I am not a royalist in any way, shape, or form, I do think both of them have improved immeasurably since they got together. (Looks wise)

Don't you think they have to? They might be the King and his consort in a short time.
Will we accept the "other" woman we all vilified when Diana was alive and then tragically killed?
He didn't marry her when they were young because of her colourful past. Lord Mountbatten was meant to say to him"Those that are bedded can't be wedded".
She hung in tight though and tried to manoeuvre a very young malleable woman, who soon learned to manipulate the press herself.
Maybe she is trying tactics again get the country on her side.
With all her money she should look good, we all would if we had personal dressers and hairdressers though personally, I would sack them if they were mine. She looks what she is a woman in her 70's with a man who can't put toothpaste on his own brush and travels with his toilet seat.
God forbid if mine was like that

We didn't all vilify her.

Cabbie21 Wed 17-Nov-21 16:51:41

Leaving aside royal protocol, surely it is more chivalrous for the man to go ahead to ward off any danger?
A friend of mine was married to a non- British person, who always went into a pub first. He said that in his culture it was his responsibility to check out that there was no danger to his wife. I often recall that when going into a strange building.

Anniebach Wed 17-Nov-21 16:57:41

I don't think Charles 'chose' to marry Diana. Wasn't he told he was heir to the throne and therefore had better find a suitable virgin pdq? Don't throw things at me, I'm sure I read that somewhere! Anyway, it turned out be a bad choice for all parties concerned and no doubt there was blame on both sides, as there usually is.

I like Camilla, too. Seems a sensible lady to me with a good sense of humour. I would be in favour of her becoming queen consort, why not? She's certainly cheered Charles up. Incidentally, why does he have such a red face? Is he well, do you think?

MissAdventure Wed 17-Nov-21 18:02:32

As I've said yammy, I can't find it in myself to care, really.
It makes absolutely no difference to the royals what we think.
They do as they please.

Calendargirl Wed 17-Nov-21 18:04:46

why does he have such a red face?

Drink, high blood pressure, too much sun?

Or perhaps he just has a red face.

?

... and he has very swollen fingers like sausages. If he were my husband I'd be getting him to the doctor's.

Josianne Wed 17-Nov-21 18:29:44

Talking of fingers and hands, a photo of the Queen on duty today wearing a nice dress, but why are her hands so purple?

Casdon Wed 17-Nov-21 18:37:53

I think Prince Charles has rosacea, he’s had a red face for many years?

mokryna Wed 17-Nov-21 18:41:28

Josianne I agrée with you, however, you could compare the Queen’s hands with the gentleman she is with, they are practically the same colour.

MissAdventure Wed 17-Nov-21 18:43:03

It must be catching! shock

Yes, weird. Maybe there's no heating on! Brrrr!

Kim19 Wed 17-Nov-21 21:17:30

I think the onus is on Charles doing the gentlemanly thing and adjusting his stride to suit Camilla's comfortable pace. In front is unfriendly and somewhat uncaring. Protocol can be ignored. Going ahead on steps is thoughtful and protective.

My friend mentioned that too, Casdon.

I had rosacea years ago, due to stress. There are different types, I think, and mine cleared with rosacea cream.

Bruises. Quite common in elderly people, at the slightest bump.

It's an old age thing.

I wasn't disagreeing with you I was agreeing. Suddenly everyone is making positive remarks about Charles and Camilla when in the past she was the scarlet woman. I suggested that perhaps it is perhaps another PR move on their part to make them appear more friendly and smooth the way for her to be Queen consort, something that would never have been considered when their ongoing affair came to the public eye.

Anniebach Wed 17-Nov-21 22:49:17

A scarlet woman . Wonder what the wives of Barry Manakee, Oliver Hoare, Will Carling called Diana

maddyone Wed 17-Nov-21 23:13:29

I can’t see any reason for Camilla not to be Queen Consort really.

MissAdventure Wed 17-Nov-21 23:15:02

Why on earth would it matter what they said?!

Who exactly has decreed that what they said carries any credence?

Particularly in light of the fact that Diane has been dead how ever many years.

No I didn't vilify her. I don't believe Charles didn't marry her for the reasons someone gave. He went off on duty in the navy and she got swept off her feet and married another.

My granny did the same. It isn't unusual.

I think the point is if one of them was a scarlet woman (ridiculous as that is) so was the other.

MissAdventure Wed 17-Nov-21 23:18:33

Oh well, obviously charles has a "type" then, the dirty boy. smile
