However, one of them has to have ambition and drive now they have left the Royal Family and it looks like it's Meghan.

Now that last I agree with Calistemon. Meghan has drive, purpose, ambition and works hard.

Now. I think I am in fact owed an apology.

As an aside, I have always taught in the private sector and was Headmistress for over a decade. Parents were always told "We can't make Henry the Helicopter if we are only given the parts for Thomas the Tank Engine." Private education can't buy brains, and most of the fee paying customers do actually accept that.
However, handing it on a plate helps no one.

Even with all the right parts in good working order, some people don't switch them on until they're older.

Even the best of schools can't always find the right switch and children find it for themselves later.

Absolutely, the right switch is for them to be confident and find happiness in their future lives. Those parts are essential.

Or realising that a home of your own etc doesn't come cheap and you might just need some better qualifications and a better job with promotion prospects.

Lucca. Having read your final post I realise I read your previous one incorrectly. In which case you are due an apology and I’m happy to do so. My error.

Reading g and keeping up with all the posts is quite difficult....I'm not being 'sarky' (as my Mum would say). I probably am a bit on the thick side, but it is sometimes easy to get confused.

I have just watched the show on You tube.

It is truly dreadful, EDG just wants the world to know she’s matey with the royals and Meghan wants everyone to think she’s a kind hard working down to earth Mom.

The prank at the end will take a lot of crawling back from… worse than Fergies toe sucking?.

Regarding Harry and his academic success or lack of it, we seem to be forgetting he lost his dear mother at such an important time in his life, he was 12 and just starting at Eton.
Poor young man was so lost.

How he achieved Sandhurst entry is irrelevant, he got in and made a huge success of his military career.

His biggest downfall was meeting and marrying MM.

Much worse than fergie having her toes sucked in front of her little daughter.

In case anyone wants to see what other of Ellen's guests have participated in this bit, you can Google Ellen in Ear. It is a long running part of her show.

Even some British personalities have gotten involved including Adele, David Beckham, Harry Styles, and Emma Watson. Represented from the US is Kobe Bryant, Dennis Quaid, and Jennifer Aniston among others. Even the very professional and respected US journalist Ann Curry participated.

Here in the US, where the show is aired, it IS funny. If the target audience didn't think so, Ellen would not have continued it with so many guests all these years. Since Ellen is not a UK show, I can't imagine why anyone would think she would need to cater to a UK audience.

It is a play on the very famous and long running show, Candid Camera. That US show ran off and on from 1947 to 2014. The UK itself had a Candid Camera show that ran from 1960 to 1976. So it was obviously popular in the UK for a time as well.

Also, for those who did not know about the derogatory name Ellen was called, Reverend Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson called her that and signed a letter saying that Ellen and the show was a blatant attempt to promote homosexuality. She received death threats and the studio got a bomb threat.

Ellen coming out on her TV show in 1997 was a huge leap for the rights of homosexuals in the late 90's and the world would not be where we are today with acceptance and rights for the LGBTQ+ community without her.

More than a bit of an exaggeration ?

She might have had influence in America but I think she barely registered in the LGB community here in Britain. Nobody I knew thought very much much about her ‘coming out”. After all, we had Elton John?

Thanks freedomfromthepast for filling in about an interviewer I know nothing about. I did think it was a bit like Candid Camera.

One point which might be interesting here, is that if the Ellen show is for an exclusively American audience, then maybe Meghan has given up trying to impress or stir up British audiences because we don't get her, phew! Sadly I doubt it.
Or maybe British tv interviewers like Paul O'Grady wouldn't want to get involved, although Jeremy Kyle might.
