I m getting a bit cheesed off with all the companies I ve bought Christmas gifts off demanding I do a review
I can’t do a review they are Christmas presents!!! how do I know if they are any good or not why can’t they wait till after Christmas to ask you to review them It’s just putting my back up and giving me cause to keep binning stuff daily

Tell me about it! I even get asked for reviews before the item arrives and I get so fed up with requests for reviews of things I buy regularly, such as dog food, which I’ve already reviewed. Every time I buy. Unless it’s a small company that I haven’t reviewed before which could do with a good review (provided my experience/purchase was good), I just delete the requests. One of the worst and silliest is Hermes after they have delivered something. They ask how likely I would be to use them again/recommend them. Did I have a choice of courier?

I just delete all the review requests - unless something is/was particularly good or bad - I won't waste time on them.

Yes the Hermes one is daft isn’t it you don’t choose them talking about providers I heard on he radio yesterday that Hermes and Yodal are bottom of the league tables for poor service

Baggs Sat 27-Nov-21 09:43:03

What Hetty says: just delete the review requests.

They certainly are BlueBelle. I always worry when I hear either of them will (or perhaps won’t) bring my parcel. Just about to order a couple of things from M&S and they use the dreaded H.

I too simply delete these requests.

If the sender is persistent I block him on my e-mail, or divert his mails to my junk folder.

JaneJudge Sat 27-Nov-21 12:43:35

I delete them too Bluebelle.

I am considering whether to stop ordering stuff online. I was sent a pair of odd trainers two weeks ago and the company seems to think it is my fault. I even took them into a store and was treated like I'd shoplifted them!

Argos asked me to review the bath mat I bought for £7.99.

I didn't bother.

Just delete delete delete .

Tizliz Sat 27-Nov-21 12:48:25

I can’t understand the dog food ones, I am not tasting it. Every time I order it comes up. Also I order at least 20 kilos so it is going to be a month before some of it gets used.

How to you rate pencils - it works, if it didn’t I would have returned it.

I used to wonder why people on Amazon down rated things because of slow/late deliveries, but now I realise it is the only way to draw attention to the bad courier service.m

I usually delete them, but I sent a rather stroppy one to M&S yesterday. I wasn't rude about the goods, which are a present so I can't really comment, but about the bally silly questions they asked!

JaneJudge Sat 27-Nov-21 13:22:18

If you want a good laugh

I'd actually put them on and was about to leave for work and thought, that's off the lace up thing is different at the top..and then I looked again and I thought, they look a different colour.....then tuned them over and s l o w l y thought they are not the same shoe

I don't understand why companies use Hermes. I have problems every time with them.
I delete most of the review requests.

rockgran Sat 27-Nov-21 14:24:11

I used to respond but now it is so overwhelming I just delete them. I don't mind giving a quick score (as on Ebay) but some of them are several pages long and have very obscure questions.

sodapop Sat 27-Nov-21 15:08:55

I delete as well unless the product or service is really good or bad.

Mummer Sat 27-Nov-21 15:16:52

Hilarious! Although I always try to shoplift either 2 right feet or 2 left feet of footwear......

Mummer Sat 27-Nov-21 15:19:07

We've been really lucky with H deliveries as our chap is ever so nice, he's been delivering for couple years now and is always chatty and really careful when he has to leave in safe place.

I have never had a probem with Hermes and had one delightful lady delivering my parcels for severa; years. She has moved on and has been replaced by an equally nice man.

What had me confused this week was M&S asking me to review the new pyjamas I had bought. Except I hadn't bought the model they wanted my views on and the ones I had ordered hadn't even arrived.

I keep getting double psots at the moment. IT IS NOTHING I AM DOING everything else is fine.

Jane43 Sat 27-Nov-21 15:26:09

We have a very nice man who delivers for Amazon and Hermes, it is Yodl we have problems with. Reviews are requested way too quickly IMO, I usually end up deleting them unless it is something I particularly want to comment on that might help other purchasers.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 27-Nov-21 15:29:35

It seems to be down to the individual Hermes drivers. We had a young woman who was great. Then she left and has been replaced with a series of very indifferent people. Sometimes they turn up on time, often they don’t, and it’s not unknown for a parcel to be ’lost’, especially coming up to Christmas. I did however have a good experience with them last year when Christmas was cancelled and I needed to send parcels to people I wouldn’t be seeing quicker than Royal Mail would do it. They collected and delivered on time.

I bought Advent calendars (teabags) as presents. I've had 2 requests for reviews, but it's November!! Don't they understand what an Advent calendar is? Anyway, they aren't for me, so I won't know enough to review them even in Advent.

World of Books keeps asking for reviews, but they need you to do it through Trustpilot, and I'm not prepared to open an account with them as they ask for a lot of information. I do the occasional review for Natural Collection as it's on your own account and they give you points!

We had a rocky time with Hermes, but now they and Yodel are both very reliable, fortunately.
