(57 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry here in brackley this morning ,and I do not think it will be as cold as it has been locally for the past few days.
Todays plans , housework ,and then get the bus to Bicester plan to start getting xmas gifts as well .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
I forgot earlier. Happy St. Andrew’s day all you Scots!
I self diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about 4 months ago. When I spoke to the GP about it, he brushed it under the carpet. There is a little local hospital that does minor injuries, so we’re going there this afternoon. With any luck, I’ll be X-rayed and diagnosed, and finally taken seriously!
My niggly toothache is going to be seen at lunch time. I can’t afford to miss the appointment, both financially (private) or pain wise ☹️
As far as we can tell, DS’s return won’t be affected, but he may not be able to drive us to Bristol… that is a whole new set of problems.
Thank you all for your kindness. ❤️
Sar please get that toe xrayed because the treatment for a fracture of your big toe is a below knee plaster.
Marydoll please be careful with the makeup, you do not want to frighten the natives.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s raining with a dark sky and looks windy out. However I do plan to venture out after lunch for a walk.
I’ve not long been awake and had my ‘worry dream’ last night. I get it occasionally. It’s always the same theme, just different locations and a different cast of characters - a proper Cecil B de Mille production. I’ve food to cook and try to share it out between too many visitors so I end up worrying about it all, how to present it and make it seem there’s enough for everyone - all the time smiling and trying to find time to say ‘hello’ to my guests. It’s exhausting and I wake with a headache, grateful it’s not real.
Anyway. I can’t seem to load the Matt cartoon so I’m away to have another go! Enjoy Tuesday everyone who can.
Good morning everyone from a dark and I think a milder start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I missed my I’m a celebrity last night thankfully it’s back on tonight. It helps me to drop off to sleep so regardless of the different views on the programme.
Nothing much on the agenda today it’s to be a jammy day. That’s the curtains open only to find it’s a miserable raining morning beyond. At least we’ve got electricity not like some poor beggars from Aberdeenshire who have been without for a few days. I was informed yesterday we might get our electricity cut off today for a few hrs while maintenance gets carried out. Not to mind I don’t think we’ll starve, not as long as there’s delivery carry out food to be had in fact I think we’re having Chinese tonight. Must go for now it’s been nice rabbiting off to invisible faces.
Hoping the electricity to those who are cut off gets reinstated as soon as possible thinking of you all. Keep warm and help each other.
Morning all from a mild and mizzly (is that a word?
?) north Wales where I seem to be getting later every morning!
Belated celebration ??to the Kalus and ??for the sick bay - all these little injuries and illnesses are most inconvenient at our busy time aren’t they?
I’m also writing my Xmas cards today notgran. cornergran
my list seems to have been winnowed in the last few years with folks deciding on texts/emails/messaging etc
Chilli chicken wraps on the menu for this evening - quick and simple for when I’m impersonating urms lazy gran!?
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s light, damp and warmer.
Let’s hope things go better for Sar and you and your son today Mattie. I echo Oldbutstilluseful thoughts on Plantar Fasciitis. I’ve had it and it is indeed painful. At one point I had an injection into my foot.
I am up much later than usual after my head busy with thoughts after talking to my brother yesterday and then a weird dream.
I’ll go to the Post Office this afternoon to post the cards that need to be weighed.
Have a good day all ??
Good morning from Colchester where it feels tropical compared to of late, 8° and rainy.
It's Giving Tuesday apparently, so I'm off to volunteer for the day in a charity shop and have a couple of bits to donate.
DH is waiting in for the washing machine repair man who has a part to fit. DH is also painting the bathroom door. I hope he takes it off the hinges and into the garage otherwise I'll have a lot of cleaning up to do!!!
Happy St Andrew's day to all Scottish GNs and love to all x
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It is much milder today and I have a scarily empty diary. What have I forgotten to write down? I so often double book things. or why is everything on the same day?
Ouch!! Sar and grandMattie . Please phone for advice soon.
I hope your son is OK too gM.
Enjoy the big city Marydoll and Baubles .
I went by bus to Melrose with a friend yesterday for the final day of the woolly sale and we both bought sweaters for ourselves. www.eribe.com/
I had a haggis panini for lunch, in advance of St Andrews Day.
I love to Christmas shop in the small towns. It is quieter, the staff are so helpful, and even the charity shops look like department stores!
Sending positive vibes to your DD Gingster hoping all is sorted soon. Try not to worry too much ?
Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is milder.
Gosh, GrandMattie, I hope you and your DS soon receive treatment and enjoy better health. My fingers are crossed for your DD too Gingster.
Tai Chi and a swim for me today. Whatever you’re doing, have a good one. ???
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The snow has all gone here and it’s grey and damp, but at least I will get the car out today. Mid afternoon yesterday, when the thaw had set in, I decided to navigate my way through the ice floes to the supermarket. The only unnavigable bit was the very icy pavement near the main road and a nice young man offered me his arm to cross over. God, I felt so old!? DH is still full of cold but he says he feels a little better this morning. He has a telephone appointment with the hospital this afternoon, so with any luck he won’t spend it sneezing into the phone!
Have the best day you can, everyone!
Hope your injuries are sorted sar and grandmattie. And grandmatties's DS. Much milder here in the Scottish Borders.
Will write some Christmas cards this morning. May bake this pm. Waiting for PCR result. Hopefully later today.
P.s. we’re having Buford Brown eggs for breakfast with buttered crumpets. We have plenty of eggs in the dish so there’s nothing to worry about and I only need to set the table for two!
I’d love to know what my (occasional) recurring dream means.
(I will ring the number I have for our Crumpet Queen today and report back tomorrow).
Good morning Mick and all from grey but calm Anglesey. Not too cold.
We ventured out to Bangor yesterday, took one look at the very crowded car parks and turned tail.
All shopping was completed on line in our nice warm kitchen. We will happily and contentedly bed down for the winter and stay safe. Family and a few cautious friends, zoom calls with those further away and of course you lot for company.
Hope all the injured, unwell and in pain feel better soon. Have the best day you can everyone ?
I hope there’s good news from EV tomorrow Urms. It would just be too sad otherwise
Grandmabatty remember the old tv advert ‘Let your fingers do the walking!’. I’d always ring and check your pharmacy has your script ready for you every time now before setting out in the car - less hassle.
#lazygran
Urms you read my mind! That is what I'll do after the fish man and Tesco delivery cometh. ?
Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s damp and misty in my corner of Lancashire. Currently 11°C, and feeling a lot warmer than recent days. Yesterday’s Zoom meeting went really well and I feel sure it will help me. Today I will look at the PDF booklet the instructor sent me and do some sewing jobs. Sorry to hear so many with troubles this morning. Stay safe and warm all ??
Good Morning from a grey, breezy, but milder Cambs.,
Sorry to hear of all those who are poorly, "get well soon",
Urmstongran, I'm pleased that you are recovered.
I hope you get good news from EV, did you get any response from Grandmafrench?
I would like to know they, & other missing posters are O.K.
Warm wishes to you all.
Good Morning all from dry but dull Harrogate.
I'm really not in too much pain Marydoll thank you for your concern, though. I worry more about your state of health! I envy you going into my favourite city (and Baubles) it such a nice and friendly place to go.
GrandMattie your poor DS, sounds like his hand will have to be reconstructed. And your heel! If you can't get an appointment with a DR, try to get one with a nurse, the chances are she would need to get a DR to look at your heel?
Nothing much doing today apart from emailing North Yorks council about the dangerous state of their pavements. While in writing mode, I might just make a start with my Xmas Cards. It's funny, my DH doesn't think they are anything to do with him - as long as I include his relations and send them appropriate cards. He sees his job as checking the TV, what's on etc!!
I would say you have broken your toe Sar from one who seems to have broken a few (looking at all my misshapen toes). There's not much you can do about it sadly, just take painkillers until it doesn't hurt anymore.
Keep safe and well folks!
I share your concern gillgran and hope Grandmafrench returns one day. I really miss all that lovely sunshine from French France and her very genuine and sincere concern for everyone. Don’t know how she always managed to remember everything about us all but she did.
Good morning all,
Marydoll (thanks for asking) Hope all goes well with your plans for the day, will you get water with your dry bread?
Amazingly got docs appointment for myhusband straightway same morning, usual chest exam and trip to hospital forXray and blood test, The doctor thought it may be an infection! So anti biotics on order and if the breathing and other symptoms get worse A nE, As another poster has mentioned that isnoteasyso it would be 111 reluctantly. However he is feeling a bit better today so hoping for the best.
Wishes toall others with sadness and problems.
