Well done for not going, but it is very sad that the tickets went unused - but I bet there were people less considerate than you who did go and coughed and sneezed and spoilt it for others. I hope you can at least get hold of a good recording of the opera. It sounds interesting. Would it have been in French?
Oh, and the railway and village are lovely. My DGS' maternal grandmother has one set up at Christmas time - it takes half their lounge! A lot of love and care goes into it. The granddad is brilliant with the boys; I'm sure he wished he had had a son. All year, they have teddy bears on display all round the house - standing in their hall once, I counted 57.
