Keir Starmer is a principled man, not a liar like Boris. The only reason Tory MP’s don’t vote against him because they are worried the Labour Party will pull itself together and put them out of office. They don’t want to find themselves without a job. Simple as that.

The media show at 4.30 this evening we’re discussing this whole fiasco. Apparently there were rumours flying about at least 9 months ago that the party had occurred but were unsubstantiated. The information that has finally been published has come from a few sources, corroborating each other. An interesting listen to hear some background.

We’re discussing.. on Radio 4

I voted for Boris and I’m not ashamed to admit it. However, I feel he is not up to the job. He lurches from disaster to disaster and I really don’t think this is sustainable going forward. He has too many distractions going on and he doesn’t seem to see the seriousness of this situation and others. Sure, he has had COVID, the pandemic has crippled his programme BUT it’s not a good look all of this. The thought of the vile Rayner woman makes me very concerned.

I think he visits too many supermarkets

Boris should most certainly resign but he won't. He knows he has been cornered now and hence he is lashing out in an uncontrolled manner. I am hoping the person or persons who are working to get him ousted step up their pace before we have nothing left worth fighting or working for in this country.

Allsorts Wed 08-Dec-21 19:35:58

I do not think he should go, Labour is weak, Keir not a leader, nice chap next door, not a leader. Labour is not interested in the working man, just any movement ending in itst, policitcal correctness gone mad, they have no policies, just berate anything and everything. Sit on the fence until they find something to jump on.
If you are content doing parties go ahead and do it, I can make up my mind, have tge caribe and don5 need anyone telling me anything and everything. It’s your life, mix and party as much as you want, I am making my own mind up.

Allsorts I agree with you on Labour. I shudder to think what would happen if they got into power. However, Boris should go. He is a traitor to this country.

Casdon Wed 08-Dec-21 19:43:34

Allsorts I fear you have completely missed the point. This isn’t about Labour, the Tories will remain in power until the next election and beyond if the electorate vote for them.
This is about whether Boris and his cabinet are fit to run the country or not. Ultimately if the other Tory MPs decide they have had enough he will be forced to resign and we will have a new Tory PM.

Grammaretto Wed 08-Dec-21 19:45:43

Ruth Davidson, once leader of the Tories in Scotland seems to be making a play for power tonight too.
Anyone would be better than Boris and his crew.

This time last year was My DH's funeral which his mother and brother couldn't attend because they had been to hospital to break the news of his son's death to my FiL.
The following day FiL was diagnosed with Covid and died on the 13th December. His wife and other son couldn't see him, nor attend DH's funeral because they had to isolate.

I am sure there were personal tragedies like this up and down the country.
I am in tears as I write this with sorrow and anger. sad angry

FiL died from Covid on the 13th December.

Allsorts Boris resigning does not mean a change off government, just a change of Prime Minister. The Conservatives will choose a new leader who will automatically bcome the PM.

When the time comes I do not think he will have a choice. A few senior and longstanding Conservative MPs will visit him, then leave him alone in his office witht he knowledge that there is a loaded gun in the drawer, or possibly a prewritten letter of resignation and he will know what the choice is.

Forsythia Wed 08-Dec-21 20:11:39

Personally, I hope that happens sooner rather than later.

Allsorts Wed 08-Dec-21 21:33:56

I think overall people like him, he annoys me like mad, don’t like his private lifestyle etc. however I do think he puts this country first which is more than the other lot do or indeed some members if his own party. At the end if the day everything passes, so I won’t lose any sleep over it, but for heavens sake take care of your own actions and health, we know the facts, don’t need to be constantly told what to do, , like eating sweets and smoking. Get the vac and be watchful, it’s not going anywhere yet,

lemongrove Wed 08-Dec-21 21:41:29

I agree with you Allsorts ?

I agree with you Allsorts ?

Of course you do. I however do not think that Johnson cares about anyone but himself, he is a self serving liar who sneers at the fools who put him in office

Grammaretto Wed 08-Dec-21 22:43:56

People I know certainly do not like Boris Allsorts.
He has done nothing to endear himself to those of us North of the Border.

This is the man who started an affair with the woman who became wife number 3 whilst wife number 2 was undergoing cancer treatment. Decent? I don’t think so

The woman who had an affair with Boris (and then sadly got cancer) was in turn the mistress when he had wife No. 1

What goes around often comes around. Yes we all felt sad for her when she got cancer LLFL but theee was a time wh en she herself was the mistress. People do tend to forget this detail.
