Good Morning Mick and everyone, and a special Good Morning to Ellanvannin! Glad to see you back.
It's dull and damp here in Carlisle. I woke an hour later than usual so will have to play catch up this morning. I have a growing list of little jobs to do. Quite satisfying when you put a line through one though.
Do have the best possible day everyone.

Good Morning Thursday 9th December 2021
(126 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley .
This morning will be busier than planned , I have my chiropodist at 9 ,and at 915 I get a delivery of a new mattress.
And a few hours after do the bus trip to Bicester for the usual .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Mick, I hope you find your new mattress as comfortable as we found our one last year.
Marydoll, is your present, one of those strainer/ colander things that go over a sink?
Welcome back , with open arms EllenVannin, every time I saw crumpets in the freezer, I thought of you. ??.
I couldn't find a crumpet, so will a waffle or pancake do?
I have cards to write today, and hope DH will work his way through a 'to do' list of things in the house.
Have a good day one and all.
>>>>>>>must get washed and dressed now after all the excitement.
In all honesty I didn't realise that I had such an enormous fan club
I must also thank Glammananna for popping in with her card and a chat on Tuesday, in the midst of the gales and door-hanging chaos. Always lovely to see her and hear the news.
YAY! Just started to scroll up & I see EV is back!
What a lovely start to my day. Welcome home lovely lady and a big thank you to GNHQ!
???
It looks a bit like a powder dispenser for a washing machine Marydoll. I’d be surprised if it was though ?
Ooh so many posts to read (64) already!
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp but seems mild out. I’m making the SOAP dish for my daughter & son in law today and woke up half an hour ago quite fancying smoked kippers and toasted brown bread for my breakfast. I hope I’m not pregnant. I’ll sneak those items on the bottom of the shopping list - Himself is going down to Sainsbury’s soon!
Other than that nothing much unless we are asked to take the grandchildren to their swimming lesson after school.
Enjoy Thursday all who can. x. Here’s Matt.
I read most mornings but don’t post very often.
Am feeling SO pleased for Farview and delighted EV back too.
As OP says I find Christmas cards a real chore. Have created a Christmas letter so will email
that instead to folk I know with email addresses especially abroad. I managed to upload photos but they won’t send-just the text sigh!
Mild here in Staffs; off to keep fit this morning; we’ll be able to walk round grounds.
Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Northampton. Will not be venturing out today - saving myself for a rugby match tomorrow night.
Got my hair done yesterday, and am really pleased with it - have at last got my hairdresser to cut my hair as short as I want it! Then to the post office over the road to post the Christmas cards, and scurry home to get in the warm. The wind was cutting like a knife.
Out with friend last night to see a magic lantern production of 'A Christmas Carol'. Certainly felt my age to find that the actor in the lead role was a pupil I remember from teaching infants school in the 1970s - he must be in his 50s now! I then won two prizes in the raffle during the interval!
Some washing to put on this morning, and then a Sainsbury's delivery. Have ordered scampi, so looking forward to tonight's dinner! May wrap presents this afternoon.
So pleased to see EV back!
Take care and stay safe everyone.
Welcome back EV. Seeing your name put a big smile on my face ? Enjoy your crumpets.
Good morning * Mick* and all, cold but clear here this morning. So good to see EV again this morning and to hear everyone’s news.
Sorry Marydoll I haven’t a clue what your present is!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
How lovely to see you back EllanVannin! I don’t contribute to the Good Morning thread but I do read it. I noticed you were missing and enquired about you. Glad all is well.
Morning, I was feeling a bit ‘meh’ this morning, what with all the Number 10 shenanigans and the press conference of yesterday.
However, mood now lifted due to lovely GMers posts, and EV being all present with crumpets ( and hot choc I hope) at the ready. Thankyou Urms for all you did.
Hope we all have as good a day as we can x
I'm so pleased to see you back EllanV. Many thanks to GNHQ.

Urmstongran thank you so much for enabling our dear EV’s return to GN.
Good morning once again thats me and himself had a comforting snooze since my first wake up call which was far too early. And the day is beginning to become quite bright I can see the light from behind those curtains whoopee. What’s the plan for today I wonder? Oh I remember after a quick squint at my calendar it’s the new Sex in the city series starting today which I find so funny I even laugh out loud. You should try it a good belly laugh is good for the sole.
Must go have a good Thursday
What a welcome ! So many thanks to you all xx
for ALL. You're ever so kind, I can't believe it.
Good Morning from Cambs., Dry, overcast & cold here.
Suddenly much brighter, as I've spotted EllanVannin is back! Welcome back to the fold EV
Warm wishes to you all.
Right, I think I'm settled after having read the goings-on. A huge thankyou to everyone again. I must say that when Urms's phone call came out of the blue I was more than thrilled to hear her, I will reciprocate at some point. A lovely lady as I thought she would be
Finally the wind's gone, outside of course. It seemed to have been never-ending and when it was at its worst on Tuesday------I was having a new front door fitted so it was blowing a gale inside as well as out and I was perished. Still, it's done now but the letter-box is as stiff as kitty's leg and is shredding things hahahaha. I suppose it'll slacken in time.
I'm managing Christmas preparations in fits and starts but can't seem to have an unbroken go at anything, as expected, the mail men are delivering constantly so a build-up of boxes and wrappings ensues to be got rid of. Kiddie parcels !
Yes, daughter now has 6 of the 7 of them to look after and boy has she been busy. I think some of you will remember the builders being at her house this time last year to manoeuvre her large bathroom around to make way for an extra bedroom----well this year it's been the turn of her huge kitchen to be whittled down to make another bedroom.
A work of art carried out by the same builders, they've done brilliantly so now her original 4 bedroomed house is now a 6 !
All the kids fit in nicely and are as happy as Larry. It's all been a massive upheaval to say the least but at least they're all well and looking forward to the festive season.
Ruby will be joining them all from Durham in a couple of weeks.
A bit of a stumbling block at the moment because I'd said I'd give D a hand preparing the feast on the day but with this new strain of Covid ( Omicron, an anagram of Moronic )
is slightly scary with me only having had the one vaccination leaves me wide open. I'm on a bit of a cleft stick as to what to do really. Play it by ear for now I think.
I'd better cut this short and continue another time, meanwhile I'll dive into the crumpets now as tum is rumbling like an old drain. I've kept well by the way, thank goodness.
Much love to all of you. xx to be contd.
Good morning from a bright Essex by the sea.
Welcome back EV, good to see you here.
My very best wishes for your daughter tomorrow Gingster.
Not a lot going on here today.
Have a great Thursday everyone xx
