Good morning all, what a cheerful place this is today ! So nice to see old friends xxx
Well quite honestly finding EV’s phone number started the ball rolling but quite honestly this really was a team effort wasn’t it, thanks to the tsunami of support on that thread!
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...”. ? ?
Well get that grill on and pile up the crumpets. Welcome back EV, so very good to have you back. ?
Glad to hear that you and all the family are well and that you’ll see little Ruby soon.
Omicron to Moronic, only you would see that EV.
Thanks Urms for making it happen.
Good morning everyone else too, how lovely to see muse, fatgran and Grandmafrench. All very much missed.
Good news for you farview, bet you can’t contain your excitement.
A flamboyance of flamingos this morning ????????
Now where is Sheepandcattle . Her posts really interested me too.
I don't normally post on here but read every day. It's chilly here on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, but there is currently a blue sky with white clouds.
What a joyous day this has turned out to be. EV is back, well done Urms, nice work. And Grandmafrench has popped in too. Please post from time to time, I love your tales of French France. All we need now is for Friday Girl to come back and it will be a hat trick.
Good morning from a bright, cold Durham. Welcome back EV and lovely to see GF from FrenchFrance too (suspect it’s a one off though).
I’ve a funeral this afternoon - a sort of cousin and one of only 4 of us left. We are all only children, so DD will come with me, as the other 2 cousins can’t attend. The original family was large with several children not living beyond childhood. The rest, including my Gran all chose to have one child or none which repeated itself with my generation, although we 4 ‘cousins’ have 1 or 2 children each. Perhaps it illustrates how bad things were for miners in the NE and Yorkshire pits in the 1900s and what a tough life widows and children endured?
Must, must, must make a start on some Christmas cards, but cutting down drastically this year, as I’m not expecting any from DH’s acquaintances in his sporting life or past work colleagues who are just ‘names’ to me.
Hope MD returns to tell us what the mysterious contraption is.
The problem is, I am too embarrassed to tell my SIL, that I don't know what the contraption is. I don't want to hurt his feelings. There was a second on in the parcel for him!
I am going to gave to own up! ?
Finally have caught up with everyone’s news. Very happy for you farview, your joy is leaping off the page!
Will be thinking about your daughter Gingster.
I’m determined to finish the cards today and tick at least one thing off the list. I so wish I was an organised person but I don’t suppose I’m going to change now!
Lovely to see your name pop up Grandmafrench, very best wishes to you.
Hope the day is as good as possible for us all???
Good morning all from a dry, calm Glasgow.
Oh, EV, it’s wonderful to see you back, you have been sorely missed. ?? You were in my thoughts when I bought cheese crumpets to have this morning. ?
Marydoll, I haven’t a clue what that is!?
Dentist today is my outing this afternoon after which, I will be checking the outside fairy lights are still working before I put them in place, rechargeable batteries ready. ? I bought a few more candle bridges to place at windows. Feeling quite festive. ??
Have a pleasant day all and best wishes to all who are feeling low, whatever is troubling you.
Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast and a special welcome to EV (not too far from me).
Had my roots refurbished yesterday and a trim. A really good day for hairdressing, blowing a gale…a girl in the salon was having her hair dyed blue, interesting.
A good night’s sleep at last and a day here to do some housework after being out so much.
I hope your head isn’t bothering you grandMattie after it’s bang and thoughts to grannysomerset and anyone with worries.
Took this pic recently, anyone who loves Fortnums will recognise it, but I was disappointed in the windows this year, they are often quite magical.
I groaned when I saw that there were 110 messages thinking something really bad must have happened. But no, EV and GF are back, happy news indeed. I've missed you too.
I'm off for a diabetic eye test today with a little shopping and definitely tea and cake. hugs
Good morning/afternoon Mick and all who follow. It's dry at the moment here in Lancashire.
Lovely to see EV back again. Well done Urms and thank you HQ.
I've written all my cards and wrapped all my presents. Today I'm making some colouring/puzzle books for some of the youngsters in the family. I printed them off yesterday and I'm going to bind them today. I'll put a Christmas film on to put me in the mood.
My family from Portugal will be here in a week's time. ? It's been 3 years since I've seen them in RL. I'm so excited and have taken to counting the sleeps along with my grandsons.
I'm dying to know what Marydoll's mysterious gift is!
Tune in tomorrow for the great reveal! ?
Last week my present was a box of sea salt from the Ayrshire coast! My SIL is so good to me, I love him as if he was my own son.
So good to see EV back with us. A triumph for Urmstongran and people power!
Just back from visiting DH who was totally uncommunicative but liked me to sit holding his hand, which I did for an hour. Feel a bit battered in consequence but will doubtless recover. Need to sew name tapes into new socks and pyjamas, print Christmas card labels and prepare for talk with financial adviser tomorrow - more than enough for one day.
I think it might be a telescopic sink organiser, Lakeland sell them apparently, one of my clients has one.
Sorry, last post was for MD.
How desperately difficult GrannySomerset, you’re doing your very best x
Thinking of you GrannySomerset. x
GrannySomerset, I'm so sorry to hear how sad you are.
Well done Jax I would never have thought of that!
It looks good marydoll ?
At first glance of your latest photo, Marydoll, I thought it was for the bathroom and wondered what a potato peeler was doing there ! ???
Very late to this thread! Been in hairdressers for hours this morning then running my mil round all afternoon. Just wanted to say hello to EV and nice to see her back where she belongs.
Nice that GF said hi - think the Christmas spirit is alive and well!
Well done urms getting the ball rolling.
Can't remember exactly what everyone else said now. So many on here today.
Kind thoughts to those struggling and lastly so happy for farviews news. Think we are from the same neck of the woods if I remember correctly!
