Imagine that we have a new sparkly GN jukebox......free of charge, what records to choose and why? Do you just love a certain old record or does it bring back lovely memories?tchsmile

I could so many but firstly
Walker Brothers Make It Easy On Yourself so reminds me of Sunday mornings in the car with dad going to the dairy for some fresh cream so mum could make fresh cream horns with her homemade strawberry jam to take on a picnic in the afternoon
Afternoon Delight Starland vocal band used to play when I had to fight when I was seriously ill when I was 11 dad was nursing me
Hotel California long hot afternoons when I was a teenager sunbathing in the afternoons

Just found a pile of 50’s records at the back of the jukebox...
Will start with Who’s Sorry Now ( you’ve had your way...now you must pay!)?
Followed by Little White Bull ( who shouted ‘NO! Don’t put that on’?
Then, Hoots Mon!

Love Letters in the Sand - Pat Boone
April Love - ditto-

I have the EP if you need it

All I have to do is Dream - the Everley Brothers
You were Always on my Mind - Willie Nelson

Kate1949 Tue 21-Dec-21 22:42:27

Calistemon I saw them too. Later on though. I was a little bit I love with Tony Hicks. He had to wait his turn though after George Harrison. grin Well a girl can dream.

I'd like a good dance so it's go to be:
Nutbush City Limits - Tina Turner
Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
I feel Love - Donna Summer

Then I'll have a sit down to:
Scarborough Fair - Simon & Garfunkel
Forever Autumn - Justin Hayward
Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues
(but really Justin Hayward again)
(perfect song, perfect voice, perfect face)

Any Nat King Cole song but if I had to pick just one then it would be Autumn leaves.

Baker Street....when I met DH.

lemongrove Wed 22-Dec-21 09:23:58

Ooh, Baker St. That sax intro makes the scalp tingle!Wonderful record.
Calistemon am disappointed that you don’t like my choice of 50’s records, how can anyone not enjoy Hoots Mon???
If feeling cheery, one record that brings me down to instant depression is The Long And Winding Road sung by Paul McCartney....this has to be the dreariest song ever made.If anyone wants it on the jukebox will they give prior warning so that I can get out of the door.Thanks.
Now, my choice this morning is:
Angel ( Robbie Williams)
Get Back ( Beatles)
Stop The Cavalry and Silent Night (as it’s almost Christmas)
tchsmile

lemongrove Wed 22-Dec-21 09:26:40

Why haven’t HQ given us Christmas emojis this year?
If anyone wants to use then just add tch in front of smile/ grin
Shock/ wink/ envy etc.

DanniRae Wed 22-Dec-21 09:31:55

The end of the year, so thought I would pop in and put a few records on for the last time....
Under Pressure ( Queen with David Bowie)
Money For Nothing ( Dire Straits)
Why Can’t We Live Together (Kyle Eastwood)

Will sit here with a large G&T and enjoy singing along.

Calistemon Fri 31-Dec-21 20:25:00

Don't Go Breaking my Heart - Elton John and Kiki Dee

Anyone watching Jools Holland tonight?
(For some unknown reason I can't bear him)

MissAdventure Fri 31-Dec-21 20:47:41

I think I'm going to check out some of my usual 'there might be music on' channels.
Sometimes find some gems on there.
Not too fussed about Jools anymore.

MissAdventure Fri 31-Dec-21 20:55:44

I'm not roo fussed about anything anymore.
This has been a shitty year, one way and another.

MissAdventure Fri 31-Dec-21 20:56:08

Roo means too.
