Have you seen William, Kate and the three children in this year’s Christmas card? Charles and Camilla have one with Charles adjusting Camilla’s face mask so very topical. They are lovely photos even if you aren’t into the RF, but it will bring a smile to those that are. Republicans will now jump on this thread and beat me up☹️ I’m off!!

Where's Harry and Meghan Christmas card ? Surely they sent one to the tabloids !!

The Charles and Camilla one is mildly funny. I like the William and Kate one, apart from Prince George’s camouflage shirt which looks unnecessarily military.

I think that both cards are nice, unusual for the time of year, but in different ways. I think they’re trying to appeal to everybody and not do a traditional Christmas card so minorities are not offended.

I have a picture in my mind of a wedding night and having to ask your valet to do the necessary
Pathetic and unnecessarily vulgar 25 Avalon

Those golden pouffes are everywhere in the Arabic world. Nothing special.

I didn’t say they were anything special! I was just replying to BlueBelle who queried what William was sitting on.

I meant the undressing bit MawBeMaw. If you thought I meant something else well!!

Atqui Sat 11-Dec-21 20:43:21

I’m sure they had plenty of practice before their wedding night!!

DH helps me with my mask all the time, my ears are small and don’t stick out ( a boon in normal times) but makes getting the elastic over the ears difficult.?
Yes, the C and C card is an unusual but topical one.

Can't say I care for either of them. The W&K one amuses me because it's being described as a "holiday snap". A holiday snap which mum wore a posh frock for and had her hair done. But the really funny bit is where shall we put our hands? My hand on your knee and your hand on mine. It is so posed.

Maybe trisher we're all getting a bit obsessed with royal hands and fingers, and of course bare toes in Harry's photo!

Anniebach Sat 11-Dec-21 21:37:27

I didn’t study it so didn’t notice hands

It’s the many knees on show in the Cambridge photo that caught my eye. Chilly in December! grin

The C&C one, I thought it would be helpful if he’d held her bag while she sorted her own mask.

lemsip Sat 11-Dec-21 23:45:56

it states quite clearly that the photo was taken earlier in the year when on holiday in Jordan......so no chilly knees!

BlueBelle Sun 12-Dec-21 08:46:00

I think it’s a bit disingenuous to use a holiday photo when most people have not been able to take a holiday for the best part of two years

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 08:53:52

There is that BlueBelle, and also the air miles issue.
But I do love the children.

Come to think of it, why didn't they do the photo shoot on the Isles of Scilly? They were down here this summer.

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 08:54:46

The Cambridges' photo, not Charles'.

Beswitched Sun 12-Dec-21 09:34:52

Haven't the Cambridge children got big? You tend to think if Kate as being up to her knees in toddlers, but even Louis is a proper little boy now.

I suppose as Jordan isn't too far from Bethlehem the card does have a Christmas theme.

And Jesus was baptised in the River Jordan

I’m sure their knees weren’t chilly in Jordan in summer but me seeing bare knees in December makes me shiver. grin I feel the same when I see men in my village sporting shorts in freezing level temps. I never see women wearing the same kit. ? ?

Maybe you don’t see women in shorts in cold weather, but am always amazed at the number of females of all ages who have bare legs or feet.

My feet are never very warm, and this time of year am always in socks or tights.

And as for bare legs when you go out for the evening….brr!

A man in the Asda car park yesterday was wearing a singlet and shorts! He wasn't a runner, just a shopper.

trisher Sun 12-Dec-21 11:54:30

Postmen seem to wear shorts in all sorts of weather.

Calistemon Sun 12-Dec-21 12:03:10

Postmen seem to wear shorts in all sorts of weather.

It started for charity, I think.

He wasn't a postman as far as I know, it was the singlet which was surprising!

Kamiso Sun 12-Dec-21 12:11:01

Postmen wear shorts because dogs biting their calves is an occupational hazard, made worse if fabric gets caught in the wound.
