Good to hear you’re feeling less symptomatic tonight EnaSharples. I do hope you get your run out tomorrow. Look out for a boy and his grandad on bicycles here on the roads in Manchester won’t you?
? ?

Doodle Wed 15-Dec-21 20:27:58

Yiayia I hope your son is ok and the antibiotics work soon.
Urms I love that coat. Such a gorgeous colour.
Maw hope you’re ok.
I’ve started wrapping presents. Cards done. I’m getting there.
TOYA ??

‘Evening All’

Well it’s not long off now is it? A flurry to f last minute bits & bobs were done by us today.✅

All finished, ordered, wrapped or posted. Bring it on any time now!

Had to laugh it’s been SO warm & sunny out it was too WARM to wear my new coat!
?

Busy day tomorrow. We are minding the grandchildren, plus Friday, Monday & Tuesday AL DAY. So glad we have a weekend in between! I think it’s crazily early for their primary school to have finished for Christmas. Himself plans taking our Boy Wonder (9.5y) out on a long bike ride tomorrow. He now loves being on the main roads with grandad, helmet on, waiting at traffic lights, using hand signals. All part of growing up and learning isn’t it? All of a sudden our grandson seems grown up. Not so sure about grandad ...

Hello all you lovely folks with your busy lives. Jaxjacky you sound very busy with lots of good deeds. I'm sorry you lost your lovely ginger boy Grannyowl it takes a while for the sibling to settle down and get used to being an only cat. Your coat looks very warm for these cold Manchester days Urmstongran and the colour is pretty.
I'm having a good day today, my pain levels are low and my breathing has been better so dh says we might have a run out tomorrow.
I'm pleased that your fund is going well soop.

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Dec-21 19:17:50

I’m embarrassed brook I’m only part of a team UK wide, but I do appreciate your comments x ?

Bellanonna Wed 15-Dec-21 19:08:29

That’s good news indeed!

brook2704 Wed 15-Dec-21 19:05:30

Thanks for the update Aldom that’s great news for soop

brook2704 Wed 15-Dec-21 19:04:17

Just wanted so say Jax that you’re an absolute star with all the volunteering work that you manage to fit into your busy life - a very big well done to you, you sound like such a kind special lady ?

Aldom Wed 15-Dec-21 19:04:13

Such good news that Soop's Gofundme page now stands at £13,135.
I took my friend, who has dementia, Christmas shopping today. She is so pleased to have found small gifts for her family.
We had a coffee and a coconut cake in a Japanese cafe in Oxford. The coconut cake was similar looking to a Danish pastry, but light and moist. Delicious.
You got a real bargain there Urms. Gives you the feel good factor smile

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Dec-21 19:01:09

Hi Yia fingers crossed your son responds quickly to the antibiotics and your Christmas in Wales goes ahead with no disruption, good to hear from you ?
A busy day for me, voluntary phones, a lift for a client, a thermos flask delivered for son’s stepdaughter (they always need something for school on the day! ) a sad call from a lady I hope gets help, a bit draining.
Anyway, the tree looks lovely, local rotary Christmas train has just passed the house, donation made, I remember when my children were little, they loved it, enchanting.
Good job there’s no butter pie shop near us Blossoming I’d have a loyalty card!
Dinner on, a quiet evening ahead, hoping the same for you all x

brook2704 Wed 15-Dec-21 17:43:56

Yia lovely to see you back but sorry to hear about the health problems, hoping your getaway to North Wales goes ahead as planned, I’m keeping everything crossed for you ?

The day has flown by. No time for housework. I have been thanking kind folk throughout the afternoon. Christmas good cheer continues to amaze me.

Until we meet again tomorrow. Virtual hugs in abundance. You are all very, very special "peoples". smile moon

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 14:41:19

Blossoming The pie sounds mouthwateringly yummy.

We had warm mince pies with brandy at lunchtime. My waistband needs elasticating. Know the feeling? wink

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 14:39:03

A warm welcome to multicolourswapshop grin

Urms that is one delightful Christmas gift. Gorgeous fabric and delicious colour. I'm delighted for you.

Hello to handsome Duncan. I would really enjoy a cuddle. smile

Grandmabatty Wed 15-Dec-21 13:50:10

That sounds delicious blossoming and probably best avoided by a diabetic me! I'm working through the Christmas Radio Times highlighting what I want to watch. I know I can do it on the tv, but somehow it isn't the same. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 13:38:34

Good afternoon you lovely lot. I have yet to catch up. Before I do, Mr Soop (who is washing the dishes) wishes to message "his ladies" on the other forum. You know to what I'm referring. I shall therefore leave the computer for him and return thereafter. I have a mountain of posts to read. hmm

Blossoming Wed 15-Dec-21 13:34:59

It’s basically a potato and onion pie Grandmabatty. The shortcrust pastry should be made with butter and the onions softened with a little butter. The potatoes are sliced very thinly and layered up with the onions. Tradition says it goes back to the days when people didn’t eat meat on Fridays. It’s delicious and probably not a healthy choice! It’s an occasional treat for us, probably just as well! It’s very popular and there’s often a huge queue outside the bakery around lunchtime.

Grandmabatty Wed 15-Dec-21 12:41:21

Blossoming, I'm intrigued. What's a butter pie?

chicken Wed 15-Dec-21 12:02:09

Brilliant news that soop's fund is now over £13,000. There's been quite a little flurry of activity.

Blossoming Wed 15-Dec-21 11:15:08

Good morning lovely Kitcheners. Never min MCSS a cheery ‘good morning’ is welcome anywhere. Waving to YiaYia too Jax.

Mr. B has been to the bakery and has returned with a lovely wholemeal loaf and some of their delicious butter pies. These were traditionally eaten in a Friday hereabouts but are now a popular lunchtime meal on any day. If anyone would like to try one they’re on the worktop.

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Dec-21 11:03:33

Quick good morning as I just thought of YiaYia and hope she’s getting on ok. If you read this Yia give us a wave ?.
