??. What a photo GrandmaSue. 6 o’clock you said. You should be mid hugs by now. ?
Woohoo GrandmaSue, big cuddles coming up ?
Great picture GrandmaSue not long now. I bet it’s been a long day for you whilst you’ve been waiting. Enjoy the hugs.
Made me smile, so goodness knows how widely you’re beaming!
That’s fabulous GrandmaSue
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. I’m home all day thank goodness and will have a clear up etc, dashing out every day has left a bit of a mess. I have a floordrobe in the bedroom, papers etc everywhere. Tiring practice yesterday and the songs are still not quite right for Xmas gigs, mostly due to our maestro producing new songs every three minutes.
There were a few worrying tales on yesterday’s thread, I hope things improve for everyone and look forward to reading through later.
Good luck with your result Maw.
When we arrived here to mind the grandchildren our daughter has decided no ice show on Monday at the Trafford Centre and she’s going to cancel the tickets they’d booked for the circus on Boxing Day. She’s decided ‘events’ are out.
Good job she never tells the children in advance about any trips.
Good morning all from dull N Bucks. I’m awaiting my PCR test result which I am 99% sure will be negative , but…..
I was “pinged” on Tuesday so did a LFT (negative) but advised to book a PCR to be sure ☹️☹️
It brings home to me how many people with “cold-type” symptoms should perhaps be taking them seriously and also avoiding cinemas, theatres etc.
My “ping” contact would have been the day I went to Birmingham by train to see the Nutcracker, despite everybody being masked and presumably most of them jabbed and boosted. I will be avoiding any sort of public venue for a bit now.
I hope you enjoy West Side Story, Mick it looks amazing, but I’ll be waiting until January as the Omicron variant seems to be spreading faster than we could have imagined , so take care (S Northants featured today as a Covid/Omicron variant hotspot, it’s not just London and the cities).
Fingers crossed for everybody’s continued health and safety especially in this run up to Christmas.
Good Morning All x
Dull and mild out there this morning. I'm wishing it was cold and crispy right now to get me on the move
I was awake---wide awake at 4am so finished off the cards, had a cuppa and went back to bed for an hour !! Nooooo, it was over 2 hours and was awakened by a knock.
Since when did the water board read the inside meter ( outside one doesn't work but it's never been fixed ) at 08.30 when you don't know whether it's Christmas Day or Pancake Tuesday ? Anyway after much fiddling with the " Fort Knox " like front door I let him in----and didn't care if I did look a fright
I could hear him huffing and puffing on all fours as he scrawped to the back of the linen cupboard yo read it. How they would ever expect me to do it Lord only knows. Hahaha.
I scurried around feeding the cats then old Tom outside with his nose pressed against the patio door. I could swear his eyesight has improved with age and not deteriorated as normally does. It's all the grub keeping him going, he loves it.
A pottering day and some shifting around to make the room look a bit bigger ( some hope ! ) God loves a trier.
Crumpets devoured and I've just caught up with the news. Some terribly sad news coming from Tasmania
Everyone here sounds busy and in " the thick of it " with various doings and arrangements but glad to hear that GrandMattie is feeling more human and able to continue with preps.
Gingster I felt sad how your DD;s feeling so I hope it settles soon. This time of year does tend to increase any sadness.
A titter at Urms Matt cartoons---the poor man in the box
Good to learn that OD landed safely, Ashcombe and all well on the Western Front with Marydoll, let it stay that way.
Must get washed and dressed after a peculiar morning or it'll be lunchtime before I get cracking.
Much love to all and stay safe xx
Wrong thread!
Good Morning all from bright Harrogate
God to hear Olddudders is back safely. Take care GrandMattie after your night-time escapade you need to rest!
Yesterday I assembled 24 mince pies (I'd already made the pastry and the mincemeat). In the afternoon I made two christmas pudds (the recipe doesn't need to be made weeks in advance). Today I have more pastry baking to do, this time I bought ready made pastry which arrived with my Sainsburies shopping. I think I'm nearly ready for Christmas now. Only the cakes to ice and two chocolate Yule logs to make.
GrandmaSue how lovely to see your GC after so long
Have the best day you can, folks!
As happened yesterday, the post I had almost finished disappeared as I lost internet connection to GN for a few seconds until I pressed, try again! Grrr.
It’s sunny and calm at the moment in Glasgow with patches of blue sky. Not a bad day at all for December.
I am running out of time to post another before my dental appointment and will catch up, hopefully, tomorrow.
Have a pleasant day all and my best wishes for a better day for those of you struggling with what life has thrown at you.
A late good morning from south London where it is very mild and we’ve got no heating on today! We saw West Side Story earlier this week and thought it was wonderful so you will enjoy it Mick.
Best wishes to all for a good day.
How wonderful GrandmaSue
Urms, it reminded me of DS1 when about 7, saying his prayers. "God bless Nanny and Granddad, who are dead. God Bless Bobbine and George (what they called my parents) because they're nearly dead"! My parents were in their early 70's :-)
My mother was delighted with this story and repeated it with relish!
What a lot of cheer on the site this morning! It’s a real tonic and should be available on prescription.
? that olddudders is back with you Ash and that your family will soon arrive from Portugal GrandmasueUK.
? you’re feeling better GrandMattie.
? you’ve had your booster Grandmabatty.
? happy 7th birthday to minibrook2704.
?for muse that your eye is soon better and for Sar for your DD’s test results.
I’m another who would like some insider advice from Jenny Harries Gagagran. Like Grandmajean I’m dithering about meeting with friends today.
Phew! I did plan to do housework and wrap presents but I might need a rest first!
Sending a smile from Sefton together with the warmest thoughts for each and every one of you this Thursday.
???
out of the mouths of babes Urmstongran.
Good morning from grey Manchester. It is warm for the time of year. My dh is running the car to get it warm so we can go for a run. We might go over the moors towards Holmfirth to last of the summer wine country I havent been that way for ages. Have a good morning everyone, I cant do flamingoes on this old computer but hope you all get one.
We just had a chuckle here with L’il Miss. she was looking at some photos and came across one of my lovely mum.
L’il Miss: aw look Grandma - one of nana.
Me: ah yes we all miss her.
L’il Miss: well Grandpa is old (he’s in his 90th year) and nearly dying soon so he’ll be able to see nana.
I don’t think I’ll share this conversation with my stepfather!
Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle where the sun might or might not show itself at some point.
I was inexplicably awake for hours in the middle of the night, not even my lavender oil on a tissue trick worked. In the end I drifted off listening to a reading of Pride and Prejudice ,but only after I'd heard several chapters. As a consequence, I'm feeling rather frayed presently and will need to kickstart myself. A pile of ironing calls and perhaps an extra cup of coffee.
There seems to be quite a few busy Grans out there, you are making me tired reading your posts especially Scentia!
My thoughts are with all of you struggling for whatever reason, better days coming hopefully.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Grey skies in my corner of Lancashire, currently 6°C. Today’s plan is a little housework and a lot of rest. The usual physio exercises and cycling (indoors) later.
Hope you’re feeling better Grandmattie. Glad your husband is back with you Ash.
A big hug to Barmyoldbat
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ???
