Morning Mick and all
Hope you have a lovely Christmas on the IOW Mick
Lots of folk still waiting for PCR results, how frustrating not knowing.
Gingster & Sar53 I hope your DD’s mole removals heal quickly.
Urnstongran hope the drugs start to
work soon, and your tooth pain eases.
Today I need to sort out the veggies in the garage to double check I have all I need. Cook two Gammons for the youngest two sons food hampers. Then I am having a manicure and pedicure, my quiet time before the rush…
Sending Christmas (((hugs))) to all
Keep safe and well folks ????

Good morning from frosty Colchester. There's a red glow in the sky which is not a good portent.
I'm wrapping up warm for the Wednesday coffee meetup and we'll have festive cake with our coffee. Expect the group might be depleted today.
SonIL has tested positive so our Boxing Day visit is off. This means I'll have to do another shop.
I haven't had a chance to read the thread so will just send love to all ? x
Good morning everyone from a dark, dry and freezing cold day here on the east coast of Fife. What a carry on I was bumped off the Gransnet site thankfully I’ve logged back in after what seemed a bit of a palaver. That’s me having to get dressed an hr early due to a hospital visit for a clinical procedure to get a wee red mark lopped off my leg best to do it though and that’s himself up and ready to push me out the door. He’ll get peace and quiet for a few hrs no wonder he’s smiling
Have a good day all ye with worries Virtual hugs all around
Good morning all from dark -1 Harrogate
Managed to get Virginmedia to switch our internet back on, typically it took most of the morning
We then took a trip to the pretty but deserted town of Boroughbridge to do bits of shopping ? and had lunch there. Today it’s Sainsburies shopping arriving and in the afternoon Hairdresser for me.
Good luck with surgery this pm Hula
You too Marydoll with your MRI scan.
What a shame so many PCR results are messing Christmas for so many.
Belated congratulations on wedding anniversary yesterday dragonfly
Hope everyone has the best time they can.
Good morning Mick have a great time on the IOW, I have fond memories of jumping on the Red Funnel ferry for day trips and holidays, when I was young.
So many GNers with trips to hospital, waiting for PCR results and with family members who have Covid, so different from past years.
Marydoll hope you manage to get some rest after your early hospital trip, urms stay in the warm and have a lazy day.
To all others stay safe.
I’m off out to break the ice on the bird bath, it’s very frosty, with a clear red sky at the moment, the birds are waiting for their feeders to be topped up, so I’ll do that before MissOops arrives with the dog (it’s dog sitting day).
Hugs for all those who have pain and sadness. For those going shopping, take care.
Grandmadinosaur sending ?
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 0* or so Alexa tells me.
Sending you my best wishes hulahoop, and to you too Marydoll.
One of the DGC had to have a PCR on Monday and got the negative result yesterday, just 24 hours later. Surely your DS will hear soon Mattie.
Today I’ve a nail appointment, decided to have a proper manicure and polish which I seldom do. Afterwards I will cook a ham and make a trifle to take to DS tomorrow.
Enjoy your jigsaw Gagagran I’m always drawn to those old fashioned scenes at Christmas. Nostalgia I suppose.
Wishing you all a peaceful day with perhaps a glimpse of the returning
.
Good morning from Leicestershire - we have a beautiful pink sky over the hill which I can see from my bed!
DD and SiL were supposed to be arriving for a week today but they have a toilet leaking through the ceiling so hoping to sort that soon.
I have Sainsbury and Ocado delivering today probably at the same time - good job I have two fridges.
I hope the hospital visits go well, the elusive test results appear and those who are poorly feel better.
Grandmadinasaur
Good morning from a very frosty, -2 S Hants.
I shot out of bed to give the bin men their Christmas box as I heard the lorry.
I’ve had to email my dentist, hopefully I’ll get a response today. Tesco delivering this afternoon.
Best of luck hulahoop today.
Those PCR’s are taking a long time to come back, hoping today they arrive with negative results.
Enjoy your day all ???.
Thinking of you Hulahoop and wishing you well for this afternoon. Hope all other Grans with worries and appointments have a positive day.
Nice to see my two youngest GC last night after their enforced Covid isolation.
Good luck to those of you braving the shops today !
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is chilly and dry.
Thoroughly enjoyable lunch and afternoon with our granddaughters yesterday. After lateral flowing, as you do, we were seated in a corner table surrounded by screens for a far too large lunch. Two very happy grandparents.
Grocery delivery and dust removal today. We’ve also had to adjust some Christmas plans, not covid but a death in our daughter in laws family. Feel so sad for them all. Fingers crossed we can still be with our elder son for Christmas day and see our granddaughters here on Boxing Day. Nothing feels certain but we hope.
A Christmas jigsaw will be on the go here later today gagagran,
. Good news about the test ash, we’re also travelling on Christmas morning, a wish for clear roads for all travellers that day. There’s still a chance of your sons test results coming grandMattie, sausages sound good, you may have triggered a menu change here today.
Good luck hulahoop, madydoll and anyone else with medical appointments. Pleased you made it to the dentist urms, a comfortable Christmas ahead.
Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
Sorry, *mick, forgot to wish you a very happy Christmas and an enjoyable break.
Good Morning all.
Good luck to Marydoll and Hula
Enjoy your trip Mick.
Today I’m doing last fresh veg shop and then lots of jobs to get finished at home.
Had a lovely time yesterday making gingerbread men and a gingerbread house with DGS2. He was very pleased with his creation .
Wishing all a good day with the desired results and hopefully a smile along the way.
Hope your operation goes well hulahoop
Marydoll fingers crossed for your scan, and well done for your full house on hospital bingo
Good morning all from Polmont where it's leaped from -2° to 0°. A heatwave! Very grey skies again. It's dry out though.
Definitely a day for being cosy urms. Keep your cold to yourself! Is it feed a cold and starve a fever? Lots of (soft) goodies for you. Enjoy your trip Mick. Have a lovely time.
Yesterday I finally found my motivation and got nearly all the presents wrapped. I went for my booster and flu vaccinations too.
Today I'm taking mum to Next as she wants to do some Christmas shopping. We have a difficult relationship so there will be lots of biting of lips going on. I'm invited to a friend's house for coffee afterwards but dd has asked me to buy some wee things for dgs2 so I'll probably just go there in the afternoon. My arms are quite sore. It was very cheering to see all the forces medics working at the vaccination centre yesterday. Have a good day all.
Good morning everyone from a bright and frosty Northampton, -1°C today.
Just done a LFT which was negative, have not been out of the house or in contact with anyone since last Wednesday.
Will be icing the Christmas cake today; marzipanned it yesterday, and had to bin the trimmings straight away or I would have eaten them all! Will admit to a tiny nibble though.....
Must get the cat carriers in from the garage today to warm them up in readiness for the cats' visit to the cattery tomorrow. The cats get used to them overnight; must get their bag of stuff ready too - brush and comb, treats, toys and a fleece to lie on.
Hope all goes well for those with hospital visits, and that those PCR results arrive soon. Take care everyone.
Good morning from a dry but cold NE.
Slept fitfully and don't feel rested.
My friend rang last night for a chat, her GS had been on a school trip to an outdoor centre and most of the children now have covid. I thought residential courses would be on hold with the rate of infection
I have not done any shopping yet, counting on DD and SIL returning to help.
Fingers crossed for all those with appointments and surgery, may everything proceed well.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It is lightish and not too cold.
I hope the scan helps Marydoll and the antiB's put paid to the toothache Urms
Good luck with the op hulahoop
That Gingerbread house looks terrific Ginny
Last yarn group of the year today - but it may be cancelled due to covid.
MiL is going to York by train today. She is an inspiration at 96. at least she isn't driving!
Hope the day goes well for everyone and the sunshine isn't far away.
A beautiful sunny winter’s day on the north Kent coast.
Waiting for an Asda delivery then hoping to meet up with DD and DGSs for a walk along the sea front.
All shopping and wrapping done, been ahead of myself this year.
Hope the PCR tests get a move on and that they are all negative. Urms my grandmother was a staunch believer in the power of the onion; supposed to have magical properties if eaten raw ? and in helping to prevent you catching colds etc. If you’d eaten a whole raw onion you’d be hard pressed to get near enough to anyone to catch anything! On second thoughts - maybe I have just discovered the best Covid prevention ?.
Hope the hospital appointments go well and that the sun shines on you all. Have a good day
Good morning from North Wales. Chilly here today
I am meeting my DD and GCs for lunch later. So happy to see them. They are all on holiday as the colleges
have finished for Christmas. DD is a teacher.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday.
Thoughts with all who have health or other worries.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Sunny but chilly Cornish morning
Hello to Mick and all Good Morningsters ???
Thank you for today’s Matt Urm.. ?
I will read all the posts on my return.
Surprised Mya with an early long walk as she will hold my hand at the surgery soon. ?. I’m usually in and out very quickly. Off to have my blood test which is needed for my double dose MRI tomorrow. Can’t take Mya to that, so lucky girl will get a MrM walk. He goes super fast.
Stay safe everyone.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Pale grey misty skies in my corner of Lancashire, currently 2°C and feeling chilly. The plan for today is setting up the MyFitnessPal app and after that nothing much. The usual physio exercises and cycling (indoors) later.
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ???
Good Morning All x.
A lovely bright cold and crispy morning, though I didn't see any frost around. The temperature here is 3 I think but with the breeze that's whipped up it feels minus.
Neighbour rang earlier re. our visit to M&S which is still going ahead but she'll be a bit delayed as someone she knows had a bad fall so is picking up a prescription for painkillers first.
I'll make sure I'm wrapped up like a " mummy" to keep the cold and germs out
Gosh I hope everyone here gets on okay with one thing and another. Urms toothache and yuk feeling. Marydoll's MRI, everyone's PCR's. I'm sitting here a bag of nerves at the thought of shopping amongst people ! After today, that'll be that.
Hope Mick gets on alright in the IOW and enjoys the break.
I'll have to pop back later on to see how everyone got on with their various tests/ appointments etc. so until then, take care xx
Good morning All. We are waiting our delivery from "Betty's" which some of you may know as the wonderful confectioner in Harrogate. We go to Harrogate every year on holiday to a Music Festival and a delivery from them, at Christmas keeps us going. Mince pies, stollen, gingerbread and a couple of Christmas presents should all be arriving between 12 and 1. Then I really must finish decorating the house for Christmas and put all the Christmas crockery and cutlery through the dishwasher. Yes, we only have a family Christmas with 4 of us but it's taken very seriously (by me
