Apologies fir waking anybody up , but Good morning and a Happy Christmas to you all!
There has been much tiptoeing and whispering going on as those of you with GC staying or who are visiting family with little ones will be experiencing. Can’t we all remember those happy days days when we struggled through Christmas Day on a minimum of sleep - it used to seem like barely an hour between tiptoeing into bedrooms with the stockings and “HE’S BEEN!”
My Christmas started with a magical Christingle service yesterday then home for mulled wine and to dry out as it was chucking it down.
For those of you alone - not by choice- or with worries and sadness, I hope the spirit of Christmas will envelop you like a warm hug and bring you comfort and strength for the days to come.
God bless us every one!

My heart goes out to you and your family Maria. Wishing your DGS2 a speedy positive recovery. It may take a while until he gets there. ?

A Happy Christmas to you all.

We are having a white one this year!

Not possible to go to church, due to corona restrictions, so making do with televised Mass.

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you so much for your kind comments. I have had video call with DGS2 he is tired as had a lot of physio this morning. A bonus DGS1 was also there as he was allowed on the ward today normally under 16 not allowed and Santa did find him as he was quite concerned he wouldn't know where he was. We will have a quiet day here no heart for any celebration maybe a long walk as the rain has cleared for now.

Happy Christmas to you all. How do you even wake up so early fellow Grans? We have Covid here ( thankfully recovering) , so it’s quiet today but still cooking a turkey crown. Watched All Creatures Great and Small last night and loved it. Little things bring such pleasure after days of feeling poorly. Enjoy your day all xx

Good Morning and Merry Christmas to everyone. ?????
Was meant to be going to my daughters as usual, but COVID has struck them. I could have invited myself to a few different houses, but have opted to be “Home Alone” today. It’s going to be a very lazy day, reading, eating and drinking. Might go for a wee walk if weather stays fine.
Hope you all have a lovely day xx

Merry Christmas from South Yorkshire. I'm a regular reader and very occasional poster but my new year resolution is to post regularly. Dd1 arrived early this morning with her partner. Both clad in Christmas PJ's, dressing gown and woolly hats. Off to ds1 and Dil for lunch and eevening meal (and some wine hopefully). Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning and Happy Christmas to all of and new posters. Thank you Maw for the lovely opening.

We are celebrating Christmas Day tomorrow as my DD is working today in the NHS.

The house is still packed and so noisy. DS, DiL. OH and DGS are downstairs and we can have a lovely day of pre-festivities today. It's wonderful having small ones here again.

Hoping for peaceful times for all those spending Christmas alone. Thank you as well for brightening some of my dark days over the past few years. You have brought a smile to my face when I've been down.

Stay safe ??????❤ to you all

Merry Christmas ? everyone. I hope you all have a great day. Thank you for this forum which has been a source of comfort in difficult times.

?Merry Christmas? everyone.
Thank you for opening up Maw. Your lovely opening brought back so many happy memories of days when our DDs crept into our room at silly o’clock excitedly jumping on to our bed announcing, ‘it’s Christmas’ at full volume. Now in their 40’s they too reminisce about their childhood christmases. ❤️

A bright crimson streaked sky in Glasgow this morning.
We had a FaceTime catch up with DD2 and SiL in Australia where it was, unusually, pouring down!

It’s lovely to see so many new names here this morning, a warm welcome to all.
Pleased to hear you made it to Italy Lucca ?
So nice to see you here Bellasnanna and pleased to see your post Greyduster
Bon voyage Ash
A bitter sweet day for you GrandM I hope being with your family helps you through the day. ❤️

My thoughts are with you and your GS Maria

Fast forward from busy Christmas days in the past to present day which will be a quiet, relaxing affair for DH and I. The fun begins tomorrow when DD1 and the girls arrive to open their presents followed by GD’s requested, Boxing Day Buffet.

Best wishes to all and I hope, a brighter day for those not in such a good place just now.
