My get-up-and-go has gone ?

Wanted:
Missing, get-up-and-go
If anybody has it can they please send me some?
Is it the dull, damp morning? Too much food over Christmas?
“End of a cr*p year” syndrome?
Whatever, I am finding it hard to stay vertical, can feel no motivation whatsoever for the (few) tasks I had hoped to achieve before the end of the year, and just want to curl up and hibernate.
Move over Rosie

Can I join the search party please? ?

I think it is CV19 fatigue

I got up at 7am. I had to get my wee lazy dog up out of her bed at 9.15 to go for her walk. I think her mojo has lost its way too with these dreary days.

Just bragging but I'm up, showered and dressed. Just recovering now. I've got a great book on the go and the fire is roaring.

silverlining... you've got a brilliant sense of humour...thanks

Haha Maw…perfect!!

So sorry that so many of you feel like this - it is the opposite for me. With multiple chronic illnesses, and some incurable illnesses, good diet, plenty exercise, keeping really busy and counting my blessings all work for me. Hope everyone feels great again soon!

OldHag Fri 31-Dec-21 10:55:21

Oh dear! I actually fell asleep while reading this thread! Come on, own up, which one of you popped by and nicked my get up and go? I really wish I could just relax and let things slide until the Spring, but we need to move house this year and there are jobs to be done before we can market the place, so whoever stole it, please return a.s.a.p! Just off for a snooze while I'm waiting.

However, time for a New Year’s resolution ??

Aveline Fri 31-Dec-21 09:31:07

LtEve any chance of a change of job? Yours sounds like a most unpleasant one.
Meanwhile, my cats slumber peacefully on. Note precision training on sleep location. (I told them they weren't allowed to sleep there!)

Juliet27

I’ve always felt that we’re animals that were meant to hibernate.

I’m pleased to see that so many other animals are allowed on beds and sofas ?

NOT allowed, Juliet27, but it just happens!

Forgot to add that someone has been reading the comments on here and seems unusually chilled this morning! It's catching on in a good way. The brown thing in the corner is his own discarded bed.

Great thread MayBeMaw without inciting doom and gloom. Onwards and upwards. Happy New Year to all. Xx

Love this - at last I feel normal!!

My mojo has definitely left the building, I find it difficult to summons up enthusiasm for anything at the moment. I think its the thought of having to work another 10 years until I'm 67. An 86 mile round commute, 12 hour shifts and a job I no longer enjoy as much (one can only be called a f** c* so many times before you become a tad fed up!) is beginning to leave me permanently tired.
I've got a day off today and am sitting listening to the rain instead of emptying the dishwasher, at least I've put the washing on, baby steps as they say.

JackieBee1 Fri 31-Dec-21 07:10:24

Thank you for this thread. It has cheered me up no end; especially the animal pics.
Happy New Year to all xxx

Iam64

I’ve decided to go to bed for an hour with some hot lemon and a book. I’ll behave as though I’ve got a cold and can look after myself, rather than clean the utility ?

Followed your example and when I woke up half an hour later, Rosie was snuggled into the small of my back! Heaven!

sodapop Thu 30-Dec-21 21:08:37

Same here, I have a list of jobs to do but keep putting them off. I've told myself I will get a grip after the New Year weekend and really get stuck in.
Watch this space.

Because no-one has yet quoted it...
...When I think of it now, I just have to grin, When I think of the places my get-up has been.

Josieann Thu 30-Dec-21 18:39:06

This works for me on so many levels, until next week at least.

grannyqueenie Thu 30-Dec-21 18:29:22

Relieved to hear it’s not just me but, for no good reason at all, to be honest mine was a bit lacking in the 1st place this year!
Since early December I’d felt my asthma wasn’t quite right but foolishly soldiered on regardless. A mistake as I’ve had some rough days since Christmas and am now on a course of steroids.
Did it really matter if the lounge carpet wasn’t clean for Christmas? No
Should I have opted for the eco friendly company? probably
Will I get this done in winter again? No
Will I delay ringing GP in future? NO

mamaa Thu 30-Dec-21 18:17:58

I can identify with all the above posts!

I think you're right karmalady and not only am I permanently in a CBA mood, but I'm getting very weepy too, which isn't like me at all- not even when I was menopausal!

Its like we're on a treadmill and cant get off- who'd have thought almost 2 years ago that we'd still be in this position...'3 weeks to flatten the curve'-seems to have taken a bit longer than expected, and is taking a toll on our mental health. sad

karmalady

we`ve been institutionalized by never ending covid negativity and lockdown, it has ground us down to a cannot be bothered state

That’s it Karmalady!

I’ve realised that that is what has happened to me. Which is why I’ve resolved to try to get out more. I feel that my whole world these days just consists of the internet or tv.

Urmstongran Thu 30-Dec-21 17:39:55

Goodness, if you’ve lost your va-va-zoom momb she of hill walking and exercises par excellence there’s no hope for the rest of us! I’m just giving in gracefully. Been watching iPlayer all afternoon and purposely chose an easy meal to assemble later this evening - pork steaks in the oven, some vine tomatoes ditto and throw a head of broccoli into a pan of boiling water. Then I shall relax ... some more.
Why not?
Lucky us eh?
?

Happy birthday muse! Here’s some cake. ?
